I just posted this in the CL in regards to Harbaugh, and thought it might be worth having here for some to read... I'd love to get Harbaugh here. I'm also a Michigan fan, so I'd love to see the UofM get him as well. Either way, I want him on one of my teams. Interesting thing with that though, is that on local radio this morning here in Detroit, and I heard Bob Papa, and Peter King on Sirius NFL radio both mentioned that contract terms will not be reached between Harbaugh and Michigan, and if Harbaugh is to leave Stanford, it is for the NFL. Likely San Fran, or possibly Denver both were mentioned. No mention of us at all. No link to confirm or anything, just passing on the information I heard on the radio on Sirius, and on local Detroit radio this morning. I think it's odd though, Michigan has yet to make a decision on RichRod, but has apparently been courting Harbaugh to see if they can replace RichRod with him, and the Dolphins have yet to make a move on Sparano, but with Ireland at Stanford practice with Harbaugh's father the other day, and Stanford being in our house to play last night, one could assume we're possibly chasing him a bit too. Interesting I think.

Not necessarily a fan of hoping for a rare odds-defying college-to-NFL HC transition anomaly, but despite the residual Saban taste still in my snout, I'd begrudgingly take Harbaugh sight unseen over the Sparano status quo or Gruden. Still first hoping for an innovative hotshot OC or Cowher but not at all costs if he's gonna be another controlling diva.
If there weren't so many problems, then we probably wouldn't need a coach, would we. Teams that are sittin pretty typically aren't in desperate need of a new coach. Just sayin. No reason to not go to a young team with a great defense, great DC, and an offense that has a premiere LT and #1 WR. Having so many problems can also be a plus. It can allow the incoming HC more opportunity to do it "his way" with the players "he wants" rather than being forced to work with what's currently there.
Plus, part of the fun of taking over a new team is having the ability to put your stamp on it and be responsible for turning it around.... and the challenge of doing so. Having a s#!tbomb of an offense like ours will definitely allow Harbaugh to place his stamp on it.
If Harbaugh doesnt want to move his family then he takes the niner job which is 3o mins from his house.. Is he married? children?, anyone know?
Yes to both. We've heard that the only way he would move his kids was if it was to Michigan, but with that deal seemingly dead, it looks like SF or Miami (or Stanford). South Florida can be very convincing.
Jim Harbaugh would be an AWESOME fit here in Miami! We wouldn't have to go through a complete overall of the FO and players if JH becomes the HC. We could keep Ireland and Nolan and get rid of Sparano and Henning. Smooth transition. JH was a SMART QB and good (WR had the ball in his hands and dropped it or would have led Colts over Steelers and gone on to Super Bowl) and he has shown he is an OUTSTANDING coach! Just a great fit for taking Miami to the next level.
Hopefully harbaugh enjoyed winning in our stadium so much that he has warm fuzzy feelings about being here.
Jim Harbaugh has been married twice...3 kids with the 1st wife they are in their late teens early 20's. One kids with his current wife, she is young(the kid not the wife)
The guy fits in Miami :P I love the thought of the guy coming here. Young, creative, and showing he is a great coach. The thought of him having played in the NFL is a strong point as well. PLEASE GET HIM OVER HERE ROSS
Well, it's pretty much official Tony is staying on. I'll do without another college coach. I'm fine with it.
I just don't see why so many people think these team is some kind of terminally challenged 1-15 team right now. Our major problems have consistently, all year, been QB Play, ST Play, and OC Playcalling. OC Playcalling is being addressed already, and ST play you could get a monkey to fix. Even if this team just stopped surrendering points on ST, it would be a markable improvement and would have saved us games. So, what's left, QB Play... You could argue there are other positions of need (2 OL spots at least, a TE to complement Fasano, an RB to replace Williams and/or 2 for Brown). But that's still not a lot of problems, that's actually pretty decent for a 7-9 team.
