Well I hope hes ready to lose money. Local fans be ready for blackouts... I garantee if changes arent made attendance will get ugly What has happened to the best franchise in the NFL...
Ross must not have spoken with his bean counters to find out what this will do to season ticket sales.
Yeah, that must be it. Why don't we have a little more patience? Look at the turnaround the defense encountered this season. Why can't the offense do that this offseason? There's no reason we can't compete next season if we spend the offseason addressing the offense. None.
NO! You do that by retaining these 2 idiots! I guess 1-7 at home and $92,000,000 worth of blown draft picks isn't failure enough!?!?
I'll be there. A QB and OC is way easier to find the an entire staff. Not to mention the added cash for FA.
What turn around? They were 14th in points allowed! They can't cover a tight end, and anytime a team needed a key 3rd and long we surrendered it! Either way 14th is mediocrity! Hey you are a Parcells guy so you know " you are what your record says!"
Yes because franchise QBs grow on tree's! How many have we had since Marino? You fail to realize one thing your HC breeds the conservative offensive philosophy!
14th in points allowed is BS. They count all points allowed for that stat, which includes all the points our special teams and offense has allowed. If you take away those points they are top 10. Our defense is far from mediocre. And that Parcells guy thing was not me, that's put there automatically by the site when you reach a certain post count.
Please post this suggestion in that area and I will then make this suggestion. Just keeping with protocol.
Sparano hasn't achieved a great level of success, but he in no way is deserving of the hate hes getting from some of you. Between Henne, Henning, losing Parcells, our RBs getting Old, and having one of the biggest egos in the nfl come to the team at WR, I'd say he did alright this season. He's probably getting fired and thats fine, but some of you acting like hes Cam Cameron are ridiculous.
Sorry for the Parcells guy insult! What is that number so I stop posting when I get near it? 14th is 14th and the special teams points speak directly to the 3yr failure Sparano is!
He was an OL coach previously and the middle of our OL has been a disaster....what exactly has he done to deserve to stay?
Also in the words of John Lydon.... "I'm adaptable, I'm adaptable I'm adaptable and I like my new role I'm getting better and better And I have a new goal"
Mike Nolans Defense was TERRIBLE in san fransisco when he was a HC. Yet hes clearly a pretty good DC ain't he? Unfortunately the higher up you go in the coaching ranks the less personal coaching you get to do. HC's don't have the luxury of working with one specific position, or even one specific group. Most of the HCs job is watching film, developing strategies and even having to do more PR than they would like im sure.
He has DEgressed season by season and then game by game, Sparano didnt have a resume worth a lick to begin with...he was just a "Parcells Guy"....he doesnt deserve the benefit of the doubt in a year where proven coaches will be available.
EXACTLY. And Nolan failed as a HC but is a helluva coordinator....I have no doubt Tony can be the same way...if he gets fired he can be a key position coach for another NFL team. But as a HC? Nope.
I still don't understand how we regressed this year. We had the same exact record as last season, had key injuries, and had a top 10 defense.
IMO new coordinators make all the difference. Our defense under Pasqualoni? Bad. Defense under Nolan, good. Switch our OC and i bet you get the same result. Henning is more of our problem then Sparano. You are aware that if we were to get a guy like Cowher, we're not getting Dick Lebeau too right? Whose to say Cowher will be successful anymore without his guys.
I just like my avatar man, Im not a huge Cowher guy....I have said numerous times I wouldnt want Bill if it meant him letting Nolan go. The real issue is that Sparano has failed and needs to be replaced.
Turned 1-15 into 11-5? A division title. Then 7-9, 7-9. Even with Drew Brees, Sean Payton went 10-6 (from 3-13 the year prior, and got to the Conference Championship) but followed it up with just 7-9 and 8-8 (in a much easier division IMO). ****, people would have likely been riding him out of town with those results. But no, he was able to get a new DC (Gregg Williams) for the 2009 season and I'll be damned if that doesn't seem to have made all the difference in the world. Even with the offense struggling a little this year (compared to years past) they're still in the playoffs. Obviously we don't have Drew Brees, but maybe a new OC (like McDaniels just as an example) is all we need to turn into a perennial playoff team again.
