And we should give Henne more time ?

Get the heck out of here with the Henne hater stuff. Did you not see where I said Marshall might have dropped it anyway?? I don't hate the man but I do not exactly get goose bumps all over by having him as the Miami Dolphins starting Qb.

Miami Dolphins football is what I love, and with Henne at Qb, I have not had a lot to get all giggly about. It's always one step foward then three steps back with him. There is absolutely, not one person, who can argue this. Not even the, he is young and developing excuse, works any longer. He is young and regressing.

That pass, thrown to the outside shoulder, put the ball directly in the hands of the defender. Marshall had to try and fight with him to make him drop it. Had the Qb made the correct read, it would have been thrown inside and a little more than 6 inches. More like nearly two feet.

I'm not saying Henne is our Qb of the future, but remember when Cortland Finnegan said he knew 80 percent of the time what route BM was running just by the formation? You CAN'T tell me that it is easy to play Quarterback when the defense knows what routes your recievers are running marjority of the time. Especially since he can't even audible. No?

As some of you may know, I've been preaching patience with Henne all season long. I guess you could say I wanted Henne to succeed in part because I just couldn't stand the prospect of yet another failure at the QB position. But, I think the truth is he just doesn't have what it takes to be an elite, or even a very good QB. Too many flaws, and way too inconsistent. I see his most likely role as a back up QB, whether it is with Miami or another team. Maybe with another OC and/or HC, maybe he can be worked with and maybe, just maybe he will improve. But, I doubt I would ever see enough improvement in him to convince me that he is our QB of the future, much less a starting caliber NFL QB. Unfortunately, I believe it is once again time to find another starting QB. Whether it is via the draft and/or via FA, it is time to move on IMO. The Chad Henne experiment has failed.

Not totally. He would be a good backup. He is older correct. 27 this year I believe. Behind Mcnabb or Pennington for a couple years may surprise some folks. It is weird how the light just comes on for some people. Personally I believe you either have it or you don't. Henne doesn't. He can be decent but he will never be over the top........a franchize QB if you will. "Developing" another QB sets us back several more years. Look for Sparano to bring in a vet. By the way Sparano gets a contract extension for 2 years.....making him under contract until 2014.........you heard it here first

If you reread my post 2socks, you'll see that's part of what I said. IMO his most likely role is going to be as a back up. So, on that, we can agree. :knucks:

As for McNabb...NFW. Re; Pennington, I love the guy, but IMO he's done. Palmer might be an option. I've also heard Orton's name dropped, but I'm not a big believer. Who knows...maybe we make a trade?

As for extending Sparano, well you know how I feel. That said, if Ross wants to give him another year with a new OC to prove himself, well...I guess I could get on board. I wouldn't be as excited about it as I'm sure you would, but hey man...it's not my team, so it's not my decision.

I actually don't like Sparano that much. I know you wouldn't know it by my posts.

I am just passionate that we have to stop the revolving coach door and let these guys have enough time to make it happen. 3 years is just not enough time, especially when Sparano did not get started until year 2 because he brought in Pennington and we were instantly good (11-5). I even question when in year 2 he really got started because of the excellent year previous throwing him off.......................you don't fix what isn't broke right? At 11-5 I wouldn't fix much but tweak some stuff. Maybe he started to really consider he needed to make changes mid way thru year 2.......which is when, if you think about it Henne was put in because Pennington went down.

It was a slow regression of the offense since that day

All I need to know is the continual criticism leveled by former and current players about our offensive play calling, the "prevent" a TD mode in the red zone, and the general confusion that seemed to plague the team is enough to give Henne the benefit of the doubt. I've seen enough to know he can do it, he just couldn't with this offensive philosophy and coaching staff.
