I thought the objective of hiring Parcells was to build the Dolphins for the future. Yes they are better than the 1-15 team. But this team lost to the Browns, Bills, and Lions in their last three home games. These three teams are suppose to be three of the worst teams in the NFL. Yet the Dolphins lost at HOME to these teams. The Dolphins may have gotten rid of many of the players from the 1-15 season. But the Dolphins are still one of the worst teams in the NFL. As this season has gone on. They are getting worse, not better. This team still needs to rebuild almost the entire offensive line. We have no QB on the team who is a capable starter in the NFL. The running back position is a joke. Other than Marshall and Bess. An upgrade at the wide receiver position is a must. The tightends on this team are mediocre at best. On defense, the secondary is still a major concern as far as I am concerned. At linebacker. Wake, and Dansby, are solid starters. But Misi, Crowder, and their backups are average to below average starters. I'll give Misi a bye at this time since he is only a first year starter. The defensive line is the strength of the team right now. But saying any unit is a strength on this team, really isn't saying must. So if you are satified that Parcells has taken this team from awful to just terrible in the last three years. So be it. I just look at the teams who were also at the bottom of the league three years ago and wonder how they were able to become playoff teams, while all the Dolphins have been able to do is be a third place team in the AFC East with a 7-9 record for two consecutive season. The Rams, Falcons, Chiefs, Raiders, Jets, and Saints all drafted right after the Dolphins in the 2008 draft. All these teams will make the playoffs this season except for the Raiders. Even the Rams will make the playoffs if they beat the Seahawks later today. The Falcons, Jets, and Saints will all be in the playoffs for 2 of the last three seasons. Of course the Saints won the SB last year. So when you compare the job Parcells did for the Dolphins with the job the men running these other organizations performed the last three years. Parcells is clearly seen as doing a terrible job in comparison. These teams for the most part have an opportunity to make the Super Bowl this season. THe Dolphins on the other hand have the opportunity to draft another average player in the middle of the first round of the draft this year. I'm certainly happy your satified with the team Parcells has left us with. Because I know many fans, including myself are not happy one bit with the job Parcells did in rebuilding the Dolphins.
Theres no difference really at all. Has thigpen thrown soem balls downfield more, sure, but when its all said and done, its the same ****ty output. Call it whatever you want based upon who's your "favorite" of our two garbage QB's, but its all the same crap out there to me.
Sad that we have to start all over again with a new coach and OC. Its for the best though, at least this time around we actually have some talent that we can easily build around.
I wish the Pats kicked a field goal there instead of letting us off the hook. I want this team to lose by 40+. Now my only real hope is a pick-six.
That looks to be what Sparano spent all week doing as well. He sure wasn't coaching this team to be prepared to win this game.
Dude, come on, he's 9 of 20 now... 10 of 21 now with a TD, its really not as special as you're making it out to be.
Ok... Anyone out there yappin about Thigpen.... Think we should forget about the QB position because we are all set with Thigpen?
Tyler Thigpen isn't the guy but good to see some good things. Rich Gannon just reiterated my biggest issue with Chad Henne. He said, "there is a great example of a QB giving his receiver a chance to make a play." Chad doesn't do that, nor when he tries is he accurate enough to do that.
Brandon, 21 passes with no interceptions from batted balls. 21 passes with no interceptions from receivers falling. 21 passes with no receivers getting lit up in the back after standing there forever. There is a point to be made.
I don't care, same **** happened all year with Henne too, its not an excuse then, so why is it now? Great, Thigpen looked somewhat ok against the Pat's second string. Wow, color me unimpressed. You want to be impressed because you're in love with the guy, thats fine with me. The reality of it is, he's still not good. He's nothing more than a backup, same as Henne. It is what it i.
I hear ya. It's still not impressive though. Henne nor Thigpen are the future of this team. I like what he brings to the table, I'm just not overly impressed at all. Neither one of these guys is anything more than decent at this point in time IMO
Well... Padre.... Henne isnt GONNA BE GONE. Why would they? They are gonna cut him before trainging camp? No. Anyone gonna trade for him? No....he will be here to compete. I hope he puts it together....and all Phins should hope so. Do I think he will....not lookin like it....but its not like it would be a miracle if he did. Henne will be here. Thigpen may not....hes the FA.
I'd let Henne leave for a bag of pork rinds and a mtn dew, Thigpen, when given even a similar chance is far better than that scrub Henne
