Jesus Christ hell no. Do you even remember a washed up Daunte Culpepper in Miami. Mc Nabb is a horrible possibility. Why anyone would want McNabb over Henne's development is jaw dropping.
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You say that now but as soon as McNabb messes up you would throw him under the bus like you have Henne. Except McNabb is old and done and has no chance of getting better. You think Henne is incorrigible which is false. Donovan would be a complete joke. It's so predictable.
And you Henne fan boys aren't predictable? How did I know I was signing on to thephins.com to read a bunch of you blame everyone under the sun except for the QB pulling the trigger? Its soooooo refreshing. Would you like for me to add this thread with a 35 character version of a 2 or 3 letter word? I can do that if you'd like?
If we brought in McNabb next year, I'd cancel my NFL sunday ticket recurring subscription... couldn't bare to watch it and lose $200 to $350 in the process.
McNabb has been playing in an offense that doesn't cater to his strengths. If we bring in someone with West Coast experience (say a John Gruden), McNabb probably comes into the conversation. Especially since Gruden prefers veteran QBs as opposed to drafting them.
There are things I do not like about him, for example he has his agent say some stuff in the press, McNabb is called on it, he says he never said it..he pulled that in Philly and in DC. But if it were a package deal a West Coast Offensive Coordinator along with McNabb it would make sense, but by himself? Pass..no thanks.
We need a young QB for the long haul. Reid was instrumental in the success of McNabb. He can chuck the long ball but he short trows constantly. He has also been injury prone over his career. Unfortunately his best years are behind him.
All I care about is to hear why you would or would not want McNabb here. Is that too much to ask? You blame Henne for the reasons this team is dysfunctional. I've said recently I would love some competition to come in and challenge for the job but McNabb is the last on that list for me.
There is no such thing as Henne's development. It is a lie. Nothing more than a backup. Just the same I do not want a washed up Donovan McNabb or Carson Palmer. These guys are not an improvement and are certainly not long term solutions. We must draft the best QB available and go from there. Crap shoot? Sure, but I can't see any other course of action that will net us a real Qb. I am tired of trying to snag one in a trade or for another wasted second round pick. Invest in the position. Trade up somehow if we need too, but GET someone.
1st - Fair enough in just wanting the McNabb debate. But I was simply commenting on a comment in this thread, so it makes it all relative... 2nd - I have NEVER "blamed Henne for the reasons this team is dysfunctional". I think he is a MAJOR part of it, but he is simply not the reason alone. 3rd - My thoughts on McNabb? I think he played better then Henne in a few aspects this year. I think they are extremely comparable at this point however outside of McNabb's legs being a factor. I think McNabb is probably done, so I wouldnt sign him. However, this is a QB that just last year had 22 TDs and 10 INTs. Has been to a superbowl and 4 straight NFC Championship games with not much talent around him on offense(outside of TO the one year). So if we did bring him in, I wouldnt jump ship like some of these so called fans, because im sure there would be a competition. Im in favor of bring in McNabb over bringing in NO ONE! But I would definitely prefer someone else.. Good enough?
Obviously McNabb would possibly be a stop gab, but I could also say.. Another failed QB that fans try to hang on for to long.... Will Dolphin fans ever learn?
Thanks for putting words in my mouth... no, I did not say that. Problem is regarding the qb position, there are no easy fixes. Where we are picking in the draft and who is likely to be on the market... you want to trade a first round pick for Kevin Kolb?
For some reason Kolb doesn't seem to interest me. I think he did alright when he had the opportunity, but I think I'm tramatized with Philly Qb's since the very ugly AJ Feeley incident.
I get nauseas at the idea of Miami making a run for McNabb. He's not what he once was. As for Henne's development...your development is only as good as your mentor. Would ANYONE here argue that Dan Henning has been a good mentor for a young quarterback? Henne's faults as a quaterback are Henning's failure as a mentor. Get an offensive genius in here such as Mike Martz or such and Henne's performance would DRASTICALLY improve.
Henne is a big disappointment but I feel McNabb would be a step backward rather than an improvement over Henne. A quarterback is needed to lead this offense not a project or a vet in his twilight years. Maybe there isn't a better option out there but hopefully thru the draft or somewhere an answer will be found for this huge question mark.
