Now that we're eliminated from the playoffs, it's interesting to see who we'll play in 2011 (if there is no lockout): HOME Denver KC Philly Washington jets bills pats AFC South 3rd place team - looks like its gonna be the Titans, although Houston is only one game behind them AWAY Oakland San Diego Dallas Giants jets bills pats AFC North 3rd place team - Looks like it will be Cleveland. The Bengals are two games out of 3rd place. While its obviously too early to pick the W's and L's, here are some thoughts: --We might play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Our previous Thanksgiving games at Dallas have been historic (thanks to Leon Lett and Chris Chambers, respectively). --The prospects of playing the Texans scares me, cause they own us. --Hopefully we play the Chargers early in the season, before they figure it out. --The only prospect of a cold-weather game (outside of our division foes) is at Giants. --We got a nice draw with the AFC West as we do not have to travel to KC or Denver, which have been historically really good homefields.
we actually have a secondary now .... so the Texans and Johnson aren't quite so scary .... looks like a daunting schedule right now .... but of course, it will change once the season starts .....
Well on the surface it doesn't look nearly as daunting as this year's schedule. That's good. And yes GO TITANS I don't want to see Houston ever.
Anyone know how they will determine the other two games if they go to the 18 game regular season, it would make the current future schedules obsolete.
WTF are you talking about? Vontae shut down both the Browns and Jets completely. Not great against the Bills, but he's not perfect. Yet.
Pretty sure it would be another team from the 2 AFC divisions we don't play entirely. So going by 2011 we would also play the 4th place team from the South and North. (3rd and 4th place teams play the 3 and 4's...1st and 2nd play the 1 and 2's. At least that's what I've heard.
Why @ Oakland again? Guess we'll just have to shut up Raiders fans in their own house two years in a row. That works I guess.
Damn my best friend is a Giants fan too bad its an away game i'd love to go to a Giants vs Fins game with him.
That would be pretty nice getting two 4th places teams on our schedule. Give the Browns a little payback and take on the Bengals again. Plus take on a rebuilding Denver. Sounds good to me.
Yep, and we have the Redskins as well, all in all that is not as daunting as the AFCN/NFCN opponents we faced this season I think even right now we match up well with that schedule.
I'm planning on going to Dolphins-Giants. Last time the Dolphins played 3 road games in NY/NJ, they swept the season series 5-0 in 2003. And still missed the playoffs....[that's getting redundant]. Also... expect one of those "weak" teams to improve and challenge for a division. Cleveland, Dallas, Washington. Maybe Philly will suck. MAYBE Vick will leave and come to Miami. Or MAYBE the Fins will get Kolb, then Kolb and Vick will duel and Kolb will come out on top and become a franchise QB? Yes I know, Keep dreaming...
You know, Vontae has been beaten a couple times lately, but it's usually no more than once a game. The rest of the time, he's not targeted at all. Meaning, he's actually doing a great job most of the time.
We just played Oak this year in Oak! I am asking if its official per Rocky's post....I dont know what the situation is.
But that was based on a third place finish match, rather than a rotational schedule. It was just a coincidence. Based on the rotation, we should be playing at Oakland next year, KC at home (remember the -19 game where Thigpen was KC's starter?)
The AFC South played the West this year. The Colts played at Denver and Oakland, hosted KC and SD. The change is official (same thing with the NFC West). The only thing I'm not sure about is which pair we play at home and which we play on the road. I read on an other site that we host Oakland and Denver so that's what I went with.
Read where? Gardenhead has travel to Oak and SD in OP! Cool, do you have an official NFL related link with new updates to home and away opponents??
I have used this site for the past few years and they have been correct: http://www.johnnyroadtrip.com/schedules/nfl_future_afce.htm I have no idea who they are or how they know this stuff.
Right, but we don't go to both Oakland and San Diego. We would only go to San Diego Here you go... http://mobile.sun-sentinel.com/wap/...id=-1&nid=32696182&ith=4&title=Miami+Dolphins
The OP is correct. You can figure it out by looking at our recent history. In 2008 (the last year we played the AFC West), we played @ Mile High and Arrowhead. In 2011, we will be traveling to San Diego and Oakland, while hosting Denver and KC.
Thanks all, but its always fun when sites contradict each other.....have no idea which is correct. So the fact that we traveled to OAK this year doesnt come into play when taking into account the AFC West rotation? I will just wait till the OFFICIAL schedule is released. hahahaha
No, they changed it this season. That's why the Colts and Texans hosted KC and SD and played at Denver and Oakland.
It was consistent up until this year -- we traveled to Pittsburgh and Cleveland in '07, while hosting Baltimore and Cincinnati. I hadn't heard a change had taken place in scheduling, though I certainly don't doubt you.
It only changed with the West divisions and it started this year. I don't know the reasons but it happened. Gardenhead's link just hasn't been updated to the changes, and the only reason I knew that because I somehow noticed it while looking at the schedules this year.
