So Miami tried to sign the 6-3, 200 speedster off the Cowboys practice squad. Despite not playing football since high school, he was signed by Dallas after a workout prior to training camp and tried at cornerback. Now he's a receiver and return man. 9.90 in the 100m, 4.31 in the 40. Dallas likes him enough to not want to lose him. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4676189/cowboys-kept-williams-from-dolphins
Now now you two formerly elite franchises who currently struggle to make/win playoff games and live up to hype, no need to fight.
Ireland may be unemployed in three weeks. Or he may be firing Tony and looking to hire someone new. Or he and Tony may be firing Henning. Or all three may be unemployed. Yet they show up each day and flip rocks to make this team better. lol. Weird.
Little too late to be realizing this team needs more speed & playmaking ability, you bucket heads. How about drafting a Mike Wallace or Jacoby Ford when you have the chance. You know----- guys who actually played football in college.
Wouldn't look very good to future employers (or current ones if they aren't canned) if they just stopped working during the season.
well, the problem is .... we weren't looking for playmakers last off season -- which is telling .... we even have pseudo playmaker in Ronnie -- and we don't even try to get him in the open field. we keep talking about Henning and the overall Offensive philosophy here .... wanting 'chunks' without playmakers ... now we are finally seeing a shift ..... a little -- no, wait - way, way tooo late .... but change is always good. This is the one area that i didn't agree with the Parcell's philosophy of tough defense and ball control offense. We keep/kept trying to build a bohemoth line without any agility .... and IMHO that doesn't work anymore, less short yardage ... you need to have big, AGILE C & Gs that can get to the next level and pull and get out in FRONT of the RBs -- and that we just don't have. Whilst i agree that size matters -- but there has to be some consideration for speed as well. To me, that is the one fault with the Parcells blueprint. We must have the combination of size AND speed ...
OMG Bpk...I had to do a double take on your sig pic to figure out who it was. My first reaction was who is that dufuss? Then, after the double take I was like you know what...maybe you can a lot about people from their looks. LOL...
For goodness sakes, if they want to add speed then sign LaMarcus Coker and stash him on the practice squad, he is as fast as CJ Spiller but unlike Williams can play a position in the NFL.
If this cat has been on the PS for weeks, and they wanted him, why wait for DAL to be at the point where Romo was likely to be on IR. If you wanted to force their hand when there was fair debate over Romo returning or not, you make this move 4 weeks ago...not now with chance of not getting him. strange.
Is this Clifford Franklin? The football is like a one man cold to Clifford Franklin. Clifford Franklin is the only man catching it. Clifford Franklin is the only man coming down with it.
I thought miami shoulda drafted Mike Williams. It was obvious how much of a pro talent that kid was. I mean he had 10 TD catches on a college team with one win. Sure enough he's turned out to be a steal in the draft.
I mentioned this previously , the reason imo is that they are officially done. I surmised we may see a couple of these moves to get guys with "potential" on the roster and cut some dead weight. Still think a move or two like this weill happen . let's see.
Teddy was given a scholarship to run track at UTSA, but unfortunately it was before UTSA started their football program (coming in 2010 - I guess I have a new college team to support since I attended UTSA - dropped out before finishing tho). The UTSA track team has always been pretty good and they took a shot on Teddy when he busted his leg playing HS football and it worked out. It just sucks that he went to a school without a football team to keep his ball skills intact.
He's got world class speed but nobody has any idea how it will translate to football. He actually started with the Cowboys as a DB then they shifted him to WR. Word here in Dallas is that he won't even be activated for the Cardinals game.
Digging up acorns, a rolling stone gathers no moss, why wait until today to do something else someone else might do on any given day, hungry like the wolf, a ship sailing on a sea of disaster. That sums up the season for me.
