    No thanks.

Cowher is a proven SB winning coach.

Tony is a former OLine coach and cant seem to get that right here.

So I only keep Tony around if Cowher or Gruden dont want in.

Put it in context though. You remember that team. Mark Dixon-Nails-Ruddy-Perry-Wade on the line could run block pretty well and they did run the ball well until Nails was hurt. Pass blocking wasn't great but when healthy Fiedler was doing well. The play calling was very solid, very balanced. Every time they had to run Ricky down on the opponent they did. When they wanted to go PA they did it in balance.

San Diego he's done well raised Rivers right.
San Francisco he did well, Smith had a solid year in his sophomore season after a miserable rookie year.
Oakland he didn't do well as HC, but they were terrible on the OL and Collins couldn't move. Also Davis had far too much say in the offense demanding more deep routes (from what I recall).
    Did well in Miami.

Ireland is a good talent evaluator I'd hate to lose him and I'd hate to lose Nolan.

Cowher before he won that SB by the way was not quite what people make him seem. Gruden became far more popular after he was fired than when he was actually in Tampa. Put things in perspective. I know Sparano is hated here right now for all his exuberance and what not, but as far as what a HC does, he does it. He runs a fairly tight ship and the team competes well do to a lack of penalties. Coaches learn, I'm convinced Sparano can as well but I won't be disappointed with Gruden or Cowher. I just don't know if they'll bring the same energy a guy who has never won can.

Truth is, I was never all that impressed with what Cowher's done against New England. He was rarely ever ready for them. Sparano gets his team in the right state of mind every time for divisional opponents. Every time. He just needs help. He's not a BB up in New England, he needs proven top personnel to cover his flaws but I think it's a better solution than going berserk cutting about like crazy with a new HC like Cowher. Don't forget Cowher will change the defense from a two-gapper Nolan D to something more akin to what's in Pittsburgh. He wants total control and he's not the kind of coach that should have it. There's one guy that should have that and I mean that only one guy in this league.

I dont see Turner comming back here unless its as a HC. I'll never say never....but I'd put the odds slim at best.

    This...

Sporano is a young HC, but he has this team and has made some blinders, but he has this team ready to play week in and week out.

I won't be disappointed with Cowher (Gruden I think is a step down honestly), but I'm happy with Sporano. He's earned 5 years IMO to see what he can do. I can see him vetting canned, but I personally don't think he's earned that treatment.

Depending on what Nolan's long term plans may be, I would also have to think Ron Rivera might be given a hard look, considering how hard Ross has been trying to get the hispanic local populace into the Phins.

The man helped build a nasty defense with Lovie Smith in Chicago, and has completely rebuilt San Diego's unit into a good one, despite what I would consider to be some heavy flaws.

Of course, I don't see bringing in a coach if Nolan figures to be here long term, but if Nolan is jetting this offeason, or is looking to get back into head coaching, it certainly has to be considered.

I just wonder who we target for offensive coordinator.

At this point I'm fine with losing Henning... An if Sparano doesn't suggest it HIMSELF I fire Sparano too. An if Ireland is reluctant to do that, I fire Ireland for such foolhardiness (and for placing the future in the hands of the gem that is Chad Henne).

I probably regret firing everyone some day in the future, but that's in the future and on this day, firing day, I feel fantastic.

Bill Cowher has been to six AFc Championship games and two Super Bowls. He made those aFC Championship apeparances with such immortal QB's as Neil O'Donnell and Kordell Stewart, and even made the playoffs with Tommy Maddox.

Uh, yeah, sign me up for this guy.

What if Nolan became our HC, would that be a bad thing as well? I'm not sure if I'd agree with it but what if Sparano took Hennig's spot? I don't like what happened this year but I still love Sparano's dedication during the game. It gets me fired up to see him doing so. I'd love Cowher, but I'd actually rather not lose Sparano...Maybe Special Teams coach?

I'd be happy to bring cowher here, and I can really see why he would want to come here. The Parcells philosophy, and attitude that is already with the players, that being of hard work and dedication. There's no doubt the players on this team are driven, and they work their tails off out there. There isn't much of a culture change to have to happen like there was in 2007. There's a core of strong players already here, sure it needs to be built upon a bit still, but there is a solid foundation. Then really, to sweeten the deal, who really wouldn't want to live in Miami? There's a strong young defense in place, with one of the top DC's in the league heading up the ship there, thats a big plus. There's alot to attract him here, all we need to do is replace the no vacancy sign over sparano's office. At this point, I like sparano, and I like some of what he's done here, but what has transpired this year, the fact that Henning is still here, the fact that his game and time management is still terrible, and the fact that a bigtime, proven coach like Cowher is out there and interested in us, I'd be all over it, and we better be.

Watching this team this year, I cant help to think of how with alot of talent on that team, that they just werent good, consistantly outcoached, and unprepared...Obviously you blame the coach, and the entire coaching staff...He has to go, and Miami has an opportunity to get one of the best, you cant pass it up IMO....I like the Tony the guy, just not the coach...

I agree with most everyone here. I say if Cowher wants to come here, let's roll out the red carpet. I'm sure Dan has his ear every Sunday beofrer, during, and after the games on their CBS show.
