Cowher comes here what exactly are we running on offense is another question. You know I'm not really sure why this team tries to attack like it's a smash mouth team. It's personnel are nothing special in the run game so all options are open on offense.

Didn't Jimmy Johnson turn tail on the Dolphins when his mother passed away and Wayne Huizenga dragged him back to coach another year?

I'll buy it's an "Oh ****" moment. How's JJ done since. Matter of fact, how many rings did he get with the Dolphins?

Let's put that ignorant trash to rest! Jimmy Jobnsons mom died and Cowhers wife had cancer! Morano is a team cancer that just lost back to back home games to the Clowns n Bills!

Yep losing home games in a row to Cleveland and Buffalo should be enough to get you fired. Lets see if Ross has the balls to do it.

Leaving the game entirely? I'll buy that. Totally. A "rewire" for these guys actually means "Ripping out" the wireing.

Don't you think Cowher sees his wife in his girls? I bet he does. I bet he doesn't really want to leave them either.

I'm full on the Cowher bandwagon and I'd rather have him than Sparano, but IF the Dolphins don't get Cowher, then we should keep Sparano, because who else is there? Henning will be gone come January 3rd, and that is more important right now.

LOLOL.....I said since last year that Sparano is not a good coach and the only reason we remained relevant was because of the Wildcat and I got bashed beyond belief.....

Hoe many wins did anyone but Shula win here? You want to ask stupid questions or do you want to realize that Morano is not a Superbowl Champion Coach?!?! Here I challenge you to name 5 qualities Morano shares with a Superbowl Champion Coach!

Actually, I wasn't trying to make an excuse for JJ. Sorry if it sounded that way. The fact is Jimmy turned tail. Nick turned tail. When the knives come out in the middle of his second season and the fans come up with clever ways to incorporate into his name the word 'moron', Bill Cowher will wonder what the heck was he thinking and consider turning tail before too long. Big egos make big cowards.

Hold on there Buckaroo Banzi.....I'm not defending Sparano at all. Just saying. If you want to argue Sparano/Cowher, I'll come down on Cowher's side
every time. I'm just saying that hireing a retread HC has nearly a 0% chance of success.

To answer; Schula won rings. JJ didn't. This was also the franchise where Schula won his rings.

Yeah Morano and his ignorant play not to lose kick a FG philosophy plan is a cancer! So since you think he can win us a Superbowl name 5 qualities he has that proves that!

Sorry I took you wrong! JJ had an excuse his mom died and being an NFL HC is a 24/7-365 job. Morano is just an idiot whose only line on his resume is friend of Bill!

I thought after last weeks win over the Jets. Sparano had saved his job. Of course my speculation at the time was based on my feeling that the Dolphins would beat the Bills and the Lions at home. Even with a loss to the Patriots in the last game of the season. The Dolphins would have ended the season at 9-7 and I figured Ross would give Sparano at least one more year to turn things around. After the loss to the Bills today. I now have to think that there is no way Ross can keep Sparano as the head coach. As a season ticket holder. I have been at all the home games this season. Beside the fact that the Dolphins are now 1-6 at home. Their last two losses at home have been to two of the worst teams in the NFL. Also I am seeing less and less fans turning up for these home games. I don't know if they are all dancing at the club in the stadium or what. I do know that Ross has stated that he wants fans to come to the games for the enjoyment of being at the stadium. As a long time season ticket holder. My enjoyment doesn't come from dance clubs or other activities at the stadium. It comes from watching my team play winning football at home. I have purchased four season tickets for over 30 years. I have been though the good years and the awful years. This year watching the effort of the Dolphins at home has made me seriously consider not renewing my tickets next year. I am certain that I can use the nearly $4000.00 I spend in tickets, parking, food and beverage each season for pursuits far more enjoyable than watching the Dolphins lose week after week at home. My wife and I discussed this on the way home from the game today. Right now I would lean toward not renewing my tickets next year if Sparano was still the coach and Henne is still the QB. If Ross is really concerned with the enjoyment of the fans. It is time he does what it takes to provide us with a winning football team. Hopefully he has Cowher on his speed dial. As far as Sparano. Nice guy, but not the right guy.

I just don't understand why people want Morano? From year one to now he plays close not to lose and wins by a FG at the end! Year one we beat the Raiders , Chiefs, 49ERS, AND Seahawks. Now that philosophy loses vs good teams. We have a top 5 defense and are 3rd in our division!

or 69 or 79 ... we lack speed , said in pre season , it was evident , when we win almost everything has to go right , no room for error , and in another thread I mentioned, the jets took the opening kick off back for a td and the eagles win the game with a punt return td .... we get one of those every other week , right?

There were no impact TE's in the 3rd or 4th rounds this year , we needed to draft an overage G who can't keep a journeyman on the bench that we scooped for a 6th rnd draft choice .... this organization is in dire need of top to bottom positive , productive management.

    YET AGAIN !

We may be third in our divison but we just lost to the fourth place team in our division,
at home. I really don't care who the coach is next year. As long as it isn't Sparano or Cam Cameron.

I guarentee that they will not sellout next year. Unless its one of those mystery buyers who buys 5,000 or 7,500 tix to get the game on TV. I predict they lose at least 10,000 season tix holders before next year. Its just too expensive and its a boring team that loses most of the time at home. I have to believe that 2004-present we have to be one of the teams that has lost the most home games.

And its only idiots that will blame the fans. Its the talent & coaching, its not been very good.

THE PROBLEM IS HENNING, NOT SPARANO. the only thing thing you can really blame Sparano for is bringing in Henning and not letting him go, but maybe he would rather do that in the off season. Is that something Sparano even has the power to do or is that on Ireland's shoulders?

No it's Sparano's fault. He allows this offensive playcalling week after week. He likes this ultraconservative play for field goal style. He can have whatever kind of offense he wants. He is the head coach. He's not at the mercy of what kind of game Dan Henning wants to call. He can tell him to run more, pass more, be more aggressive, whatever he wants. You can't be the head man and not be accountable for this.

Aw come on man, you have to fire Carpenter after a day like today. I mean, let's at least stay consistent. Fire Henne, Brown, Williams, Carpenter, Bell, Dansby, Davis and Smith... they all suck ***. Coaching has nothing to do with winning, we all know that. :shifty:

Even the players are questioning the staff. http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/12/19/1981399/end-of-a-hall-of-shame-season.html

Change is needed because the Dolphins look like a playoff team on defense but are eliminated from playoff contention now because the offense stinks.

Change is needed because these coaches don't trust players to perform and some players are starting to doubt coaches, as well.

It's clear Miami's offensive coaches don't trust Chad Henne and that's a problem because he's the freakin' starting quarterback.
If you don't trust that guy, you do weird things like call a Wildcat run on second-and-10 from the Buffalo 31-yard line with 2:27 to play. That call, strange by any standard, said the coaching staff didn't think Henne could throw the team into the end zone.

So they were seemingly making field goal plans two downs before the kicker got on the field. ``I just go out and try to execute,'' said one player who requested anonymity for obvious reasons. ``But are you happy with that play that's called? I don't see how too many people could be.''

It bears mentioning Henning has reason to doubt Henne. Recall Miami's quarterback threw an interception in the first half Sunday. And he threw three interceptions in his previous home game -- a loss to Cleveland. And he has thrown at least one interception in 10 of his past 11 games.

I'll feel better on January 3rd when Henning is fired/retired[if he's smart he will retire]. If they get Cowher then I'm fine with that obviously, but Sparano coming back wouldn't be the absolute worst, but you know Cowher would have the trust of the players and fans right away.
