One out of three to be exact. I would take him on in a Jersey minute.

If the Fins choke away the season for the 2nd year to finish 7-9 I wouldn't be surprised if Ross paid him.

Especially when one of the biggest problems on the team is the O-Line, which is supposed to be Sparano's specialty. The middle of it is horrible, guys get right through it.

If Cowhers willing to come here we need to dump Sparano as quick as we can. I don't hold any ill will toward Sparano but he just doesn't seem to be head coach material. He just can't get this team to play for him and allowing all this crap with Henning calling out Henne etc. to go on this team is a mess right now and the blame lies with Sparano because he's the head coach. Lest we forget these guys are the ones that passed on Ryan and picked Henne so theres noone to blame but themselves no matter how you look at it. Having Cowher come here at this point would be a dream come true.

I could jump on that bus......Sparano just can't seem to pull the right triggers. I'm finally getting fed up with his decisions

As of now it looks like the Dolphins Meltdown is here for the 2nd year in a row.

I like Sparano but we have not improved much. Other then implementing the gimmicky wildcat plays which led to our playoff birth there really hasnt been much improvement. We are still a F'n FG kicking team which will not be successful in this league. Im all for Cowher

Smart money has cowher to the Giants with Marc Whipple as his OC.

Less chance has Cowher to Carolina as he lives in the area and his daugthers go to NC State.

Do the Giants really need a new coach? I'd think Texans if not Miami.

Giants are currently looking like they are going to take 1st place in the NFC East.

It's always been New York. But the odds of them making a change are less than us doing so IMO.

Being #2 on that list ain't bad.

Yea I remember when he first left Pitt the deal was he wanted to coach Carolina so he could be with his family. They have passed him over long enough now with a troubled team though, thats got to be somewhat insulting. I wouldn't be surprised if he no longer wants to coach there.

Houston is probably the most likely to make a coaching change. I'd love it if they brought him into Miami though.

With Cowhers pedigree, might not be a bad idea. I think its really sad when your team can't win at home. The team just doesn't seem to have the chemistry or be as cohesive as you would expect from a good team. Sparano seems to be a nice guy but its not a popularity contest.

I like Sparano, but this team is tetering on the verge of being 1-6 at home.
Plus if Cowher is hired that means Henning will be gone for sure, and I'm all for that.

I believe no matter what happens on the other side of the ball, Nolan will be gone, as HC somewhere.

He failed to build the team into a winner on both sides of the ball. Ireland has to take some blame too. His FA pickups have done exactly what to give the team wins this year ?

Dolphins are headed to 7-9, and 1-7 at home, so there is a good chance we'll get him. Ross is losing ticket sales by the game with a soon to be 1-7 home record, 1-9 since December 2009

In short, ownership is cheap there.

Plus they suck balls. Cowher wants to go to a team with a decent base, which is why you hear Miami and Houston. Just a few pieces and some consistency away from being a contender, whereas with Carolina they are an entire team away and then some.

I'm not sure about that. Cowher is a 3-4 guy. I'd be more worried about Nolan becoming a HC somewhere else than being fired.

Cowher is rumored to have favorite teams every single year even the year he gave up the spot in pitt. I wouldn't put a lot of faith in it until you hear it from him.

There are a lot of 3-4 guys out there. If ego is driving Cowher's return then he'll inevitably clash with others not of his choosing. This isn't Jimmy Johnson having the fun of booting Tom Olivadotti a second time (the first being taking over the U.) :)

Nolan's a keeper and I've read some posts saying to effect "Well, the owner could make it a condition for the new guy keep one of the old guys." But this is the kind of stuff Wayne Huizenga did every time there was a coup in the Dolphin Banana Republic and it never worked. In the business world it does but not with the top-down structure a professional sports franchise demands. I'd be surprised if Nolan were kept without problems outside of a total defensive collapse.

Still think Gruden could do just as good of a job if personnel decisions aren't by him. With him around I could easily see a trade for Kyle Orton, cheap stuff on offense fixing the team through OL spending in the interior. Use the WRs the team has to create a very solid passing game that controls the clock and then run the ball with a power back like Ronnie, a change of pace guy through FA, and maybe a third guy. All inexpensive solutions. The only key with Gruden is to take personnel decisions out of his hands, pay him well to convince him to do so, and retain Nolan. That's a Superbowl coaching staff. No more would we go into New England or against New York or whoever really and say we're not going to take advantage of what we have against you. No we're going to get after you, use each guy well, and do the job.

That T.B. team turned it around on offense wasn't anything amazing. Old Brad Johnson, aged McCardell, Keyshawn, Jurevicius (journeyman at the time), Dunn, and an offensive line that wasn't anything special at all. This team's talent level was no lower on offense than that one and that's before any possible upgrades.
