Sun Life Stadium at 1 pm Broadcast CBS Announcers Rich Gannon Bob Macatee Weather: 76 degrees 11 mph breeze Latest line Dolphins + 5.5 Key Injuries: Dolphins: Vern Carey and Brian Hartline are out Bills Lee Evans and Jeff Harmgartner (starting C) Matchup: Bills have a good passing attack, the Dolphins have a good Defense, the Bills defense can be gashed on the ground, but overall have allowed less than 270 yds in 5 straight games. Losing Lee Evans is huge for the Bills, now the real "X Factor" is Bills Qb Ryan Fitzpatrick who scorched the Defense in 2009 for a 30 yd td run. For the Dolphins, a struggling Chad Henne vs the #4 pass D in the NFL could spell bad news for the Dolphins if Henne does not avoid interceptions. My take: Well, Kyle Williams is having the best season no one has ever heard of, Cam Wake is leading the NFL in sacks, so both teams bring defensive playmakers to the table. Special Teams for the Bills is not the strength it once was with the loss of Bobby April and Roscoe Parrish and Brandon Fields is coming off of a monster game vs the Jets. On offense, Ricky Williams has tortured Bills fans for years now, for the Bills Fitzpatrick is a solid Qb who maybe is without proper weapons for this game. Importance: This is basically a playoff game for the Dolphins, if the Jags, Rams and Steelers win the playoff chances for 2010 ratchet upwards. (BTW I love that picture, look at that kid on the end of the line just cheesing for the camera, and I don't mean the short young man either..) GO PHINS!!!! And with a 1pm kickoff, make your picks to make plays: ST: Nolan Carroll, about time he took one to the house on a Return Offense: Oline, they have a solid performance as the lineup finally gels Defense: Sean Smith, he pulls down those int's in this one.
As long as the Jets do not win two in a row, they can beat the steelers, but not the Bears, or vice versa, as long as they head into wk #17 with only 9 or 10 wins.
If they win one more I believe we would need them to beat the Bears so that we could get them on the conference record tiebreaker. If they beat the Steelers or Bills I don't think we would win that tiebreaker with them. But I'm not 100% sure on that. I'm just hoping they lose every game. It's certainly possible the way they've been going. I'm not sure if it's better for us for KC or San Diego to win the west.
Theres no point in the Dolphins going into the playoffs with a garbage offense. We are just going to get embarrassed.
Well, the Jets have 9 wins, we need them to lose 1 of their next two games, they can even lose both of them but as long as the beat Buffalo in the final game they make the playoffs. We actually need them to lose to the Bears as our win and their loss to the Packers is sort of our ace in the hole. We only need KC to lose 1 more game and for the Chargers to win the AFCW, a tie and the Chargers beat us if the Jets lose to Buffalo. By Monday though, things will be much much clearer.
We won't get embarrassed. Our defense is too good now for that to happen. If you make the playoffs you at least have a shot. I'll take that.
Seriously, can you go one post without hatin on Henne? I'm starting to think he stole your girlfriend. Just sayin.
Buffalo does have another WR threat, one that has been quietly having a very solid year. Stevie Johnson, who has become a favorite of Fitzpatrick's, has 874 yards and 9 touchdowns on the year so far. He has been in a slump the past couple of weeks, dropping a lot of passes. I hope that slump continues. If we take him out of the game then they really have no one of note to throw to.
That is what I have in mind as well, add in if the D continues it's run stuffing ways on Action Jackson, we would be good..assuming Chad Henne discovers he does have opposable thumbs....
lol... okay that comment was funny. But on a more serious note. What coverage type does Buffalo usually play? I don't watch their games. I only know about Fitzpatrick and Johnson because I picked both up on one of my fantasy teams earlier in the season due to some injuries on my team. The reason I know about Johnson's drops is because I went back and looked specifically at his performances because he was targeted a lot but had few receptions and yards. I really don't know much about the Bills outside of those areas.
Haha... what is that supposed to be... it looks like a kangaroo but, what is it supposed to signify? It's hilarious none the less.
Not if we can only score field goals and Sean Smith continues to suck but I'll stop derailing this thread. Dolphins win by 10 and Sean Smith learns how to catch.
I think "suck" is kind of a strong word for Smith's performances, as of late. He is playing great in coverage and getting better against the run. The only part of his game that is lacking, that I can see, is his propensity to drop easy interceptions, IMO.
I haven't had greater empathy for a team than I do for the Bills. We've been like step brothers since the late 90's...
I will be at the game tomorrow and will be lookin forward to post post-game thoughts. so excited...cant wait...Hopefully we can get some BUTTS in the seats at Sun life... i will be there with 5 other trying to help the cause
I'm not sure if it was. I've had it filed away for a long time. Got it from an old pirate satalite forum. The game is going to be close, I'm sure but if the defense plays like they have lately then I see Miami winning at home...
I hope I'm not hungover for this game. I wouldn't be able to handle being hungover and having to watch the heart attack Dolphins. And please run the ball. A lot. Let Ricky torture them like he always has.
Well, if the Bills had not been bleeding talent via injuries I'd agree, but they lost their Center and #1 Wr and their best cover corner is most likely limited for the game, so for me the key is just solid defense and run the ball and in this case, dare I say it: Punting is not a sin!!!! This is a game tailor made for WannyBall, don't get cute, just pound the rock, make your tackles and no ST flubs or turnovers in our end of the field.
At least your head coach doesn't look like a mafia hot dog vendor who pumps his fist after every made field goal...
No thanks, brah...but keep the offer on the table till I find out what RB we're taking in the 1st round next draft.
http://the506.com/sports/?cat=14 Well, those outside of NY or S. Florida will have to find "other means" to watch the game, or listen on 940 winz, as the game has the smallest distribution next to the Bengals v Browns.
Well, Soliai should have another big game along with Dansby, Rhinehart was an inseason pickup from the Redskins with little experience.
Thats a bad sign. The kangaroo was running to the game, but he decided to truck it on out of there after the game. Hmmmmm, couldnt get out of there fast enough.?
