grab proven players at the skill(qb, wr, rb) positions through FA, and draft O line, D line, and any other defensive positions. rookies hurt more in the skill positions then at the line. mueller got this all backwards, and last year we barely even addressed the O line besides a center. learn from the patriots drafting/FA.

Mueller also drafted Drew Mormino, who the teams impressed with. He was just not big enough to start yet. Look for Mormino to be starting on this line next year. So your statement about mueller is wrong, he drafted two o-lineman, which is a lot for one draft.

As for your theories to grab competitive players in FA, thats exactly what we've been doing for years. and this is where it got us.

We get rid of great players due to FA/trades such as surtain, madison, welker, mcmichael, chambers, kevin carter, and we pick up washed out old bums like culpepper, joey, trent, harrigonton through FA. Tha t is why we suck worse every year.

surtain and madison were the only great ones on that list, and we only let them go because of their age. Welker would have about 30recs this year for maybe 300 some yards if he was wearing a dolphins jersey, its ridiculous to think he'd be doing what hes doing in NE if he were here.

McMicheal was a wife beater and clearly had an ego problem. You can't have guys who complain all the time like him.

As for Kevin Carter, yeah that was a dumb move letting him go. but personally, i understand why they did. After Last season Matt Roth looked like he was ready to step up. he wasn't.

No denying the washed up bums part. We need to stop picking up other teams trash. However, i wouldn't lump porter in there right now, he's still a pretty good player for our defense.

We need to face it. Our defense is getting to old and it's time to move on to the future. Parting ways with players like Taylor and Thomas would hurt like hell but it's time to face the facts, we're rebuilding and it's time to start fresh.

    This draft should be interesting.

Rebuilding is a stupid term when it comes to this. Lets not end up like the 49ers. When are you people going to learn from the patriots? Their old as hell, you don't hear none of this "lets part ways" crap. If they can still be competitive, we need them on this team. Older players > younger players.

His season never began: he was placed on IR before we played the Redskins. Even though he did indeed need the shoulder surgery, being placed on IR has the practical effect of giving Mormino the equivalent of a redshirt year. He needed to bulk up, and being put on IR gave him 10 months to do just that.

He should be expected to win a starting slot on the OL, probably at RG.

Belicheck and Pioli regularly let players go because they are old and gonna cost. they are strong because they draft well and add solid players through the draft. their Defense is like ours last season, only not as talented.

doesnt matter what our 'philosophy' is

if we can't even evaluate talent properly, we will never consistently bring in good players

I wouldn't trust anyone Ferris Mueller drafted at this point.

His track record in the draft is actually pretty solid. He's the one that drafted guys like Joey Galloway, Walter Jones, Shawn Springs, Donte Stallworth and Thomas Howard.

He's a good draft guy, his players do produce. Just look at Satele, honestly he's had almost a pro bowl year. Now i know what you're thinking "great he drafted one good player on the first day>"

Hey, its better than wanny ever did.
