I love it! For the government to suggest that I (ahem, OTHER people) cannot modify a piece of electronics however I want after I buy it is RIDICULOUS. It's MY (I mean their) property, and I can soak it in a got damn bath of salt water if I see fit. Could you imagine what would happen if the government were to sue somebody who has modified the original condition of one of their vehicles? "Ford didn't intend that Mustang to have that much horsepower, now this car has the potential to break the law." Poppycock.
I can think of a lot of better words for such an abuse of power, but 'Poppycock' will do, being that it is a moderated forum. :P There are those out there who would point to this as just one example of the gov't. attempting to breach the laws of individual freedom and personal responsibility in a larger effort to become a 'state-sanctioned' nation. I don't know that I would go that far, but I am glad there are still judges in Cali. who have the capacity of reason and integrity of character to realize and call out a unjust power grab when they see it. I can only hope that the Supreme Court upholds the same logic when faced with the case (as I am betting it does go that far if the gov't. doesn't get a favorable ruling).
