this fo doesn't like players that don't/can't play due to injury and we've seen them ship guys out that maybe should've stayed due to injury's.it really sucks that we just resigned this guy and our d is much improved with him in but he is rarely "in" anymore.i can only dream of how good we can be once we replace him with quality talent.love the guys attitude ut when your pedelin your arse on a stationary bike you are not helping us win.

Well now the JD Folsom resigning makes sense, he will play Nickel ILB if needed as Dansby and Dobbins will be on the field most of the time, if you have to sub either one Folsom comes into the game..all 230 pds of blue twisted steel!

Glad Reshad Jones will be back and active as we need all the help we can get containing Hillis.

Crowder supporters don't understand what it would be like to have a true starting caliber LB on the inside next to Dansby.
Did Channing get better in there with Karlos? Nope it just further exposed his mediocrity. I harp on his play all the time and how badly ineffective he is but I never touch on his inability to stay on the field. How can you miss his zero tackles.

Yes, yes and yes it is time to upgrade the position and remove the dead weight.

What Crowder detractors do not understand is that first there should be an upgrade on the team for their to be an upgrade for the team. They act like just saying something means that it is true without using logic or facts. They also seem to fail the concept of football being a team sport.

He is hurt again man. Why even have him on the team. Dobbins has gotten better and has passed up Channing. Crowder's days are numbered. Once he is replaced you will finally understand the difference. What about Channing getting better. That is all I've heard for five years. The only thing that is happenening with Crowder's game is he is getting older. Just because Omar Kelly squats on his sausage doesn't mean he is valuable. Zero tackles. How does one do that at the ILB position anyway. Like I said you could line up a chair and move it down the field for the same result.

No way the Jets let him walk.

Well, bit picture Al Harris being out with a hammy is more of a blow than Crowder in the nickel defense.

I don't think they'll be able to afford to keep him with Braylon, Holmes, Cromartie and Brad Smith set to become free agents.

That is the thing, I do understand the difference. With his injury history and injuries this year I do expect him to be gone. Unlike some people I understand reality.

There is more to football than just stats. Stats do not always correlate to a good or bad game. Crowder was one of the reasons for one of the best defensive performances on sunday. Tackles are not even a official stat of the NFL. They are done through the team. A guy could do everything right and be the reason for a loss and not get any tackle credit for it. There isn't a stat for filling the hole and causing the runningback to not go in his hole.

People love saying Crowder sucks for the last five years, yet in the last five years when healthy Miami plays consistantly much better defense than when he isn't there.

All I ever get is stats thrown at me when people are debating Crowder. He has so many tackles and he is great against the run and now you are going to tell me he is better because he had a game where he didn't make the stat sheet. Downright fuggin' comical. I love how you say a stat for filling holes. I see running backs every Sunday running to get out of a hole that Channing has filled. That is comical too. It is a good spin on Crowder picked the wrong hole.
The lack of awareness is even more apparent now that Dansby is beside him. I understand Channing's role but Jesus Christ Dupree not one single tackle. Hell for a while it was hard to tell if he was even in the game.
Keep it coming though 'cause you have me rolling. You got schooled the other day on JT now you're defending Crowder. I love player fans they are the most ridiculous of the lot. Go to the end of the earth defending garbage players because you bought their jersey or hand picked them to be your guy. Crowder is the weakest link in this defense. If we want to be elite we HAVE to upgrade.

BTW did you even watch the football game?

amazing how everyone is caught up in crowders injury history and that we should upgrade the position in the offseason...

The issue here is the only real threat we need to defend is hillis. Crowder is good at one thing. Run defense. NO one can sit here and say he isnt a huge lift to our run D. Once he came back we didn't allow much running.

Lets hope we don't miss him too much on Sunday. Dobbins plays ST so he could be tired and we need him at full stamina/strength to stop hillis.

We have one on injured reserve, and already have an excellent veteran inside. I'd rather they draft another YOUNG stud to play along side Dansby.

Unless of course they can someone land a Pat Willis... :)

You have not schooled anyone on Jason Taylor. I hate his ***, and have NEVER been a players fan so you won't be putting me in that catagory. I have favorite players though. The ones wearing the uniform THIS year. Taylor is playing a limited role, which is what almost every single one of would have expected from him if he was here this year. But he is filling that role very very well for a 14 year vet.

Crowder is my least favorite Dolphin. I would love for them to upgrade his position but for now, he is the best we have, including Dobbins, who has only recently made a play or two...

Funny, I actually came on the site tonight, after reading about Crowder being out, just to comment that I am completely done with the guy. And it's good to see several in agreement. I think we need to simply release him at the end of the year - asap - and move on. Or send him on his way now.

I am dumbfounded by his defenders as a player. Fans of him? Okay, fine. But, defend his unbelievably mediocre play - defend a player who gets blown up on blitzes by scatbacks? A player who constantly makes misreads throwing his body into the wrong hole? A player who makes his tackles 6-8 yards downfield? And, a player whose greatest asset is to get the other teams players fired up to shut him up? I can completely do without that. And, he's not even reliable to stay on the field anymore.

I'd just as soon have Dobbins on the field b/c even if he's not that great - at least he's not nearly as frustrating!

Hmm, I am not the largest Crowder fan nor detractor, but I do see more value in his play than what you are describing Da' fins, he is more of a 2 down role playing Ilb whom you can live with, he is certainly upgradeable, but you can also do much worse and you need players who keep guys loose on the team.

I like him, don't love him, however he is not a scrubbini.

Ive been thinking about it a lot OZ, I just dont want Dansby to have to babysit in his prime, for me, the position is spent on one of the two good size free agents we hopefully sign, I think the other one you go offense with, along with spending the first 2 picks on offense as well.

Running back..if they dont retain Ronnie.

    Inside Linebacker

    Scatback/returner

    Guard...

They have a ton of money tied up on Dansby as it is and none on an outside Lb. Look for them to lock up Wake, and continue to bring in young talent. If they draft the right one, Dansby won't have to babysit and it won't be extremely hard to find an upgrage over an average Channing Crowder.

I see one area that will be a huge need next year and that's RT. IMO it's time to move Carey inside to Guard and get an upgrade going at RT. Carey is becoming slower each season. He was good there for a while but he can play Guard and probably sniff the probowl. Well, maybe...

Heres a stat for the CC haters/Dobbins anyone else lovers.

CC in the game and the defense holds opposing runners to 95 yards or under. CC out of the game and those same runners ave. 117 YPG

By the by, yes I want an upgrade but only because he is hurt so often. That doesn't mean I don't value his input as a team player and I'd bet hard money Sparano does too which is why he is still on the team!

In his mind he's schooled everybody on pretty much everything. He is a team fan. Though Webster defines team as: a number of persons associated together in work or activity:
But Killer is not a fan of players, so who he is actually a fan of is anybody's guess. Maybe he's acquired a Jeff Ireland jersey from somewhere. Maybe his real loyalty lies to the league's most popular mercenary and Giants/Jets/Patriots/Cowboys great Bill Parcells. Who knows. But let's not get back into JT stuff that is ancient history. I mean everybody has already been schooled anyway so what's the point? Normal fans have favorite players. That's only natural. It's normal for most to grow fond of great players playing for your favorite team. Of course keep in mind they're inferior fans.

Back on topic, if the FO doesn't try to upgrade Crowder's position in the offseason it will be a real head scratcher. The best argument I've seen for having him in the starting lineup is that he takes up space. Awesome. He's serviceable, I wouldn't cut him just because but I would try to upgrade him.

Not really, his play time is getting cut back more and more, he has been awful the past month or so. He has 4 sacks, which came early and only has hit the QB 4 times. The Jets biggest weakness is lack of a pass rush. That's why Ryan blitzs so much lately (and the fact he likes to blitz)

Well he had a clear effect on the run defense..at first, that later began giving up 140 yds per game, Dobbins on the other hand was playing injured early in the season, he looks healthy now and we shut down the #2 rushing attack in the NFL holding the Raiders to the 3rd lowest total in franchise history, and 13 of their 16 yds rushing came on an end around.

So it could be also said that Dobbins had a positive effect as wel plus he forced a fumble something CC rarely does.

That's just it. He was never going to get a lot of playing time for he is obviously a step and a half slower than ever. His back has given him problems but his pass rush is still close and pressure is almost as good as a sack sometimes. Forcing a couple of fumbles and 4 sacks is not bad for a player coming in on mostly 3rd down and sometimes second. He is still covered by the better lineman which makes blitzes from his side leathal.

He can make some good points but he seems to want to argue and act like the whole site is against him more than anything.

If he didn't always say things like " I told you do" or " I schooled such and such" he's hardly hear from me....

HE can't get to the QB anymore, he does not even get pressure, Misi is doing better.

I really have no problem with this move at all. Heck, I would rather still have Roth over Taylor.

I have no problem with JT's move either but he getting pressure and he is playing decently in a reserve role. Last game he was right in the Qb's face 4 times that I saw, and he may not have had the stats but he knocked down 3 passes.

A different set of circumstances than Crowder of course but yes I have been on Marshall. He has been very underwhelming to say the least. Dropping balls at critical times, costing us stupid penalties and sitting out due to injury. I still sit here waiting for the breakout game so he can prove his worth. So far BM has been a flop. You give up 2 second round picks and a pile of cash for one TD. Hell Marlon Moore has one TD in 3 catches. Honestly I think BM is a diva that this team didn't need.

As far as Crowder. We won't miss him although the first time Hillis breaks a run. People here will be whining that we do. Crowder will have as many tackles this week as he did playing last week. Zero. LOL
