If it comes to it, they'd just have Ronnie run the Wildcat the rest of the way. This season would be an absolute trainwreck if it came to that.
Risky move with two gimpy QB's maybe they had a talk with Ramsey, hang on a few days and we will sign you back.
Henne must be fully recovered for us to make this move. Unless we are about to sign a different FA QB.
helluva comeback for merling. this may be a turning point for him in that his flaw supposedly was being lazy. you dont come back this quick if you're still lazy. seems the light has turned on for him as far as work ethic goes
i actually like him. not predicting any greatness for him just that i liked what little i saw from the guy
I forget which side of the line Merling played on... but my question is with Merling back, how does that change the gameplan? Are we going to see Starks move back to NT rotating with Soliai (who has played really well I think). Are we going to see us switch into more 4-3 formations to take advantage of having Starks, Langford, Soliai, and Merling all in the game at once? I'm sure it will be a wait and see approach with Merling, but I'm thinking a few games down the road.
Good the Merling's back. Hope he's gotten better and can help us out the rest of the way. Odd that we would cut Ramsey though. Maybe he comes back in a couple days when/if someone else gets the axe
I have as much confidence in him as I do any #3 Qb this time of yr slowmo, Ramsey was insurance and nothing more.
I am looking for Brandsater to step right into the #3 QB role. He has the size and the measurables, the rest is upside and with Penington and David Lee he will be right where the rest of the 3rd string clipholders are.
Chris Baker didn't even play that badly in his limited snaps. He's familiar with this scheme as he was with Denver last year under Nolan. Wouldn't surprise me if he's a long-term project at backup NT.
They cut it close in activating him. I know the deadline was sometime the first week of December. Hopefully, that means they have confidence in him contributing significantly. Redemption would be very sweet for him after the offseason he's had.
Small move, I liked Micah Johnson but learned awhile ago that the practice squad is not the place to fall in love with a player as they can be gone in a eye blink. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=9678&draftyear=2009&genpos=ILB
