Davone Bess has been running his routes. Now is it the coordinator, the quarterback, or the stud receiver that can't get Marshall the ball?

 

The Raiders have had one of the worst run defenses in the league the past couple years...I would not go that far just yet. Nonetheless, I agree, as it is helping us to stay two dimensional.

 

I wonder how many people per game are crapped on by all the birds at Oakland?

 

Wrong. The OL is not the problem. Problem is that the Raiders know Henne's going to max protect, they throw the full house at him, and then the OL gets the blame. Henne just holds the ball too long when his receivers all have 1-1 in that situation. Big Ben wishes he had that kind of protection. Henne is a statute right now with his lack of foot speed and injury. In run blocking though I will admit Incognito and Berger are miserable.

Rarely do I see anyone blame a QB for pass protection problems but in this case it's on Henne. Spread the formation and you get those two big pass plays you saw to Hartline and Bess. Stay in max protect watch the Raiders overwhelm you.

The running game is awful, Williams looks pretty done, and the run blocking is horrific up the middle.

 

thats a bit underthrown, but a catch Bess should make.

 

A screen to Cobbs? I dont get why we keep calling screens when they never work.

Actually that was probably the best WR screen we have run all year and it was COBBS that made something out of nothing.

As for screen calls? What else can you do besides run, PA, and screen to take the blitz off Henne?
