Can someone explain what Mike Miller is going to do for that Heat team? They have plenty of scorers - they need a PG that can defend and some size underneath. A team with Bron, Wade and Bosh isn't one scorer away from being elite. They need defenders.

As for the OP - Heat fans were pretty cocky and/or confident in the offseason - so taking a little heat for a slow start isn't to be unexpected. Sec - you said that no one else in the NBA has a chance - so to hear a little grief over a slow start isn't anything more than retribution for that.

That being said - there is about an 80% chance this team puts it all together and completely blows everyone away in the next few months. I reserve that 20% chance that the egos butt heads and the team blows up. I've watched too many games where LeBron checked his stats and did everything in his power to get that triple double with a minute left to see him continue to put up good but not great numbers on a good but not great team.

The Heat's biggest opponent right now is the labor negotiations. If we come out of the next CBA with no MLE or BLE, or a hard cap, it is going to screw the Heat more than anything else. If they still have those weapons - it is over.

Adds another ball handler which they need. Adds another shooter which they need, since what we have now is James Jones as the consistent shooter and House on Heat check. he also gives us a starter that can defend other teams small forwards.

He adds a TON. He has always been key to the Heats ULTIMATE success.

The Heat needs spacing. he is exactly that.

As for needing defenders.....they really don't. They play team defense and play it VERY WELL. Check the efficiency numbers.

I am selling them short. You usually can't dismiss a team this early...but they are a healthy Portland team away from being the 5th best team out west.

They have been fading every year as the season has gone on for 3 years now.

Tell you what...if the playoffs were next week....they are a lock for the WCF.

If someone wanted to bring up the “Miami sports fans are bandwagon know-nothings” argument, that site would actually be solid evidence in their favor.

Spoelstra is not the problem with this team. Schematically, he’s basically fake Young Pat Riley. Replacing him with Real Old Pat Riley doesn’t do a whole lot except increase the team’s workload in practice.

So haterism? Can I coin that term? :)

The biggest things that Miller allows the Heat to do is use Lebron as a true PG and add another player he can penetrate and dish to. I anticipate we would see this lineup on the regular:
    PG: Lebron
    SG: Wade
    SF: Miller
    PF: Bosh
    C: Dampier/Anthony/Ilgauskas

Just one more shooter who he could penetrate and dish to. Losing Haslem is a big loss though. Haslem does a lot of dirty work and doesnt need the ball to be effective. It also hurts their depth which wasnt a strong point to begin with.

Yes please fire him. I can't wait for Spo or Mark Jackson to replace D'Antoni.

One of the guys that started that site is known on another board...and he is a....drumroll........

    Celtics Fan.

That site has been on and off since last year. This year they put it online after the Heat drubbed the Magic. Coincidence of course.

The haterism is in overdrive today!

Chris Webber decided that he was bored with hatin' on the team and decided to say this: "Miami Fans stink."

As a reference..the Heat is #5 in attendance with a perfect 100%. Somehow Dallas, Portland, Orlando and Chicago are getting over 100% attendance. and yes...the Heat has had better attendance than the Celtics or Lakers.

Its like 1 win vs teams above .500!

Looks like the big three all scored in the 20's, obviously the lack of a big man hurts so what does the Heat do to turn it around?

PS. Bosh is alot softer than I thought u can tell he doesnt like contact, IMO the Heat need a Kurt Thomas/Marcus Camby type player to come in and do the dirty work. Not sure their trade capabilities so Heat guru's WHO can play that role and how can you get him?

Another body language expert. You go to school for that?

He is a 20 and 10 Power Forward...all this "soft" talk reminds me of the Pau Gasoft crap 2 years ago. How did that turn out?

They are fine and will be fine. They have enough. None of this crap matters if Dwyane Wade plays halfway good and not terrible every night. He is responsible for 4 losses this year.

That dirty work guy has a torn ligament in his foot and comes back in March.

    That about covers it.

I don't think the Heat are done by any means but the Celtics, with that core they currently have, have already proven they can win the championship. Sure the Heat did it a few years ago too but obviously that was under different circumstances.

I think the Heat need more of a team than just Wade, James and Bosh. They aren't deep enough to be able to confidently rotate guys in for the superstars on the team.

Please don't jump down my throat for this, but Broussard has long been a mouth piece for Maverick Carter. I would bet good money that piece about the dissatisfaction with Spo came from LeBron's people.

The point is that the Heat already have the guys you claim they need.

Miller is due back around New Year’s, by the way. Middle of January at the latest.

I don’t doubt that someone in LeBron’s entourage is blabbing. What I do doubt is the accuracy of what said clinger-on is saying as it relates to the team.

Worth noting that LeBron’s entourage was against him signing with Miami and wanted him to go to New York instead.

and another point to remember is that Lebron's entourage is not allowed behind the bench and do not have jobs with the org. like the Cavs did. So Mav Carter could be speaking out of his own frustration...which is fine with me, that goof wanted lebron to sign in New York.

    Hilarious or Tragic stat....

Actual playcall efficiency (player efficiency when a play is called for them this season)

    #66? Dwyane Wade...out of 71 players studied.

    #33? Lebron James.

So Who was #1? Chris Bosh of course.

    AH...Chris Bosh...the Heat's best player. LOL.

    Most Talented. Not best.

They themselves have said so as well. Both Wade and Lebron have said they hope to be on par as a TEAM by playoff time. But the talent is there.
