Thigpen could be the best fit down the stretch (and an interesting Henne stat)

Eh, I don't buy that Hugo G, if anything we got the worst of both worlds:

-Henne looked like a changed Qb v the Titans, then went out, so we cannot know if he is "the guy" was that a fluke, or was it Henne going Neo?

-Impossible to tell whether Thigpen is any good or not, 6 sacks, Bears ToP 17 minutes longer than we had the ball, the difference in the amount of plays run between the two teams is also massive, when you have say 45 plays to look at, and 6 are sacks, and 7 are terrible running plays, what exactly is there to learn even if you knew the playcalls?

Sparano did say Thiggy checked out of 4 running plays into passing plays, including the 25 ydr to Hartline, is that good, bad or what?

What's worse, we split the two games so even Win Now did not work out only now the team has been degraded by injuries on the Oline and at Wr.

Statistical fact for you Hugo G,

1 Wr 55 catches 615 yds about 11 yds per catch

1 wr 55 catches 693 yds about 11yds per catch

1 is Greg Camarillo in 08, the other is Marshall in 2010, can you tell who is who?

Not sure where to start...I guess the beginning would be good.

I didn't say that Henne is definitively the guy. Just that he's more talented and has more ability than Thigpen

I specifically said that you can't pin the offensive output on Thigpen, but it's fairly clear that there's a reason why he was the No. 3. His ceiling is simply not that high.

As for your statistic, why are comparing Camarillo's numbers through a full season with Marshall's numbers in just 9.5 games? Moreover, why are you comparing one guy that consistently catches 100+ and a half-dozen or more TDs per season with a guy that's a No. 3 at best.

One guy (Marshall) is a guy with a super high NFL ceiling having an off season while the other guy has little more than good hands (he'll never catch 100 balls and will never get more than a couple of TDs per season).

Greg C did not play a full season, he was injured in Gm #11.

The similarity of their production, "ceiling" and all, is remarkably similar, as in perhaps they simply traded out Camarillo for Marshall and retained the same offensive design.

yeah, but you also have to account that marshalls just being there frees up other people, because they always double cover him.

I'm not trying to be rude but there's literally no comparison between Greg Camarillo and Brandon Marshall.

How do I know that? Because of the very statistical comparison you made.

Basically, Marshall's worst season in his career will equal Camarillo's best season in his career. Mind you, the season is not over. For all we know, Marshall will once again eclipse the 100-reception mark and catch a half-dozen TDs by season's end.

Even if he doesn't, it's still foolish to compare the two. It's, dare I say, "statmonkery"

    Sure there is.

You are right, Camarillo did have an additional TD and no dropped passes.

And Santa will bring me a pony, no one knows what will happen the rest of the year, if anything I suspect he will be de-emphasized until they start rolling coverage to Hartline.

Ah, so Stat Monkery does exist..for you that is like saying Big Foot or UFO's exist..:shifty:

You say that now, but watch - we'll trade down and give that 2nd rounder to Philly for their backup QB...

Ugh, no thanks. I'd prefer taking my chances on Locker or Mallett (I want neither).

Eh, seriously, I wouldn't know what to think, winning to me is the only measuring stick, and VY does win ballgames, however he is wildly immature, but so was Vick, and round and round it goes.

I think we all saw that a Qb, who stands in the pocket and makes proper reads and delivers accurate throws can beat any team in the NFL, there is another way to win, the sort of athlete/Qb who breaks the field and causes chaos for the defense.

You remind me of guys that used to show me stats for Travis Minor and then proceed to explain how he was as good or better than Ricky Williams.

I just hope that you have it in you to admit that you were dead wrong about this in a few seasons, when Marshall continues on his borderline Hall of Fame pace and Camarillo fades into bolivion.
