Now that he's not going to be picked at #1 overall, where does the DE/OLB from Virginia end up?? I'd think St. Louis, but does he fit their defensive philosophy? In other words, can he be a 4-3 DE? or is he better suited to play the 3-4 SOLB? If he's better suited for a 3-4, then does he make it all the way down to New England at 7??? Maybe the Jets at 6?
I personally think St. Louis wants Dorsey, and I'd assume Atlanta takes Ryan... I can see Oakland being dumb enough to take Mcfadden, KC i think has more important needs on the OL, so that puts him to the Jets or Pats I would think... which sucks
I was always assuming that Oakland wouldn't have a chance at Long. But if St. Louis goes with Doresy, then my money is on Oakland. I can't see Al Davis skipping on baby Howie. He has the talent and Raider lineage, it would be a huge get for them.
I have heard Howie has had a falling out with the Raiders which could cause the nutty owner to pass on Chris Long. If the Rams pass him by, he could fall to the Jets.
I think KC would take him at 5, that seems to be as far as he would go imo. Though the Jets will have either Gholston or Long for now it seems unless both Oakland and KC take one of them leaving McFad for the Jets.
I dont see him dropping that far really. Worst case maybe to the Jets or Pats. 1)Jake long 2)Glenn Dorsey 3)Matt Ryan 4)Darren McFadden 5)Vernon Gholston So who will the Jets take at 6 then? Long is a massive value at this point, and he can play their 3-4 and fill a pass rushing role they need badly to put pressure on Tom Brady. Failing that, how in Gods name would the Pats let him by?
I'm hoping anywhere but NE or NYJ. I think the Rams will go after Dorsey. The Raider FO is so screwed up who the hell knows who they'll end up with, but I'm sure the fans will be rooting for Chris as the pick, however, they could go Gholston or McFadden here. The Chiefs just traded Allen, they could very well go after a pass rusher with their first 1st rounder and go OL with their second 1st rounder. I'm not going past those teams, because I quite honestly don't want to picture Chris in either Jets or Pats colors.
Dorsey would create something of a logjam at DT for St. Louis. They could use at DE and, unless they fall for Gholston, I think Chris is the guy
IMO it would be a smart move, eventhough I really like Chris Long and would have glady taken him at #1. Dorsey just seems to me to be the better option for the Rams given their situation.
I agree. ESPN stated that the Rams are very likely to take Dorsey and than move last years first rounder Carriker to DE.
Also, they have been eaten up on the inside for a while now. They can't stop the run to save their lives and than need a rusher on the opposite side of Leonard Little. If they take Dorsey, they solve both of those needs with just the selection of him. IMO.
