'm a lifelong Phan from New England who has to deal with Pats talk all the time. I'm hoping some of you down in south beach can help give me some insight/ pass along my ideas to the miami media chopping block. Here we go:
QB- Obviously a concern for years. All I can do is hope we dont draft another in the 2nd round. I watched years of Pat White live and knew he wasnt built for the NFL but steve slaton down in houston gave me hope. I have to want Henne to develop (he's had enough time behind the other chadd who i'd rather have as a QB coach) but didnt care for the draft choice. I'd rather have someone who can move in the pocket. Maybe its Hennings offense, maybe devon bess should be on the field more. Wish I had the answers but we can all agree we need depth. Bess' former Hawaii teammate Colt Breanon would have been a great grab but unfortunatly he just got into a car accident he might not have been in if he'd been on an NFL team. Hell I'd take Colt McCoy over Henne.

A big ol' DT might be our first choice in the draft for good reason but our interior o line needs help too. Vernon Carey is decent but certainly not the highest paid RT in the league which i believe i heard on thursday night.

Havnt followed what cammarillo is doing this year but as our player rep maybe he could have helped in the lockerroom after some of these mistakes.

And then theres the secoundary. Long gone are the days of having 4 all pros back there. Is brock marion still in the league? can we call up Sammy maddison to teach these young bucks? no? AL HARRIS??? WHY all the hate on jason allen?! i understand getting rid of the Saban picks but I always found him to be a fast hard hitting FS especially in Madden. I get the move to corner when we were week there but he's certainly better then clemons or that free agent old clown we brought in last year. Allens already starting and making plays for the Texans. I think smith and davis on the outside are our best bet but FS should be an offseason concern.

so... in this season of everyone walking that fine line of being professional and being dominate why are we getting the short end of the stick? Trainers not keeping us healthy? Getting more then our fair share of bad calls? Please point some fingers so I can sleep a little better

To put it simple, it's mostly coaching, some injuries on the offense side of the ball and one BS call is why we are 5-5.

well...... you seem to have all the answers already. :shifty:...... :tongue2:

This is kind of a broad topic for 1 thread. I'd suggest checking out the threads that already exist b/c we've pretty much mentioned in detail "everything Miami Dolphins". lol.

The defense is young and improved, which we spent most of our picks on this year. I think Reshad Jones is showing good play as a rookie at FS and will be who we develop the rest of this season. We'll get young depth back with Odrick and AJ Edds next year.

It's our offense that is the huge question mark going forward.

OC - Playcalling is number one. We've had 3 weeks in a row of reports from opposing defenses saying how easy our offense is to predict. Not acceptable at this level.

QB - I'm happy with Henne. He's shown too much improvement and upside not to be the starter next year.

O-line - is in shambles. Other than Long, everyone has been mediocre all year. We can't run block for beans even against 7 man fronts. We pass protect well because we keep so many people in. I see us drafting a couple OL picks next year.

RBs - watching aging powerbacks in Ronnie and Ricky is never pretty. Cobbs and Hillard haven't shown enough to become starters. We'll draft a speed back next draft that can bounce a run outside when nothing's there.

TEs - Fasano was locked up for a couple more years. We could use another good TE, but I don't think it's a priority compared to our crappy OL and aging backs.

WRs - Solid group with a couple young undrafted rookies that'll hopefully show improvement going forward. We could use another burner, other than Hartline.

We certainly don't need to draft any more D-linemen. Playmakers, plain and simple. RB's, WR's, TE's and we also cannot afford to rest with Henne without a plan B at QB.

Henning or the fans will be gone next year.
