I thought the 2nd episode was good - though I see the point about the acting. I'm a little concerned about the future of the show just based on how little I care about the main character. He isn't overly interesting. The story line of he and his family is good - but just don't think, as a character, he brings much to the show. I love how gory and bloody they are making this show! Thought they would tone it down but that last episode was disgusting.
dont get me wrong, i liked the 2nd show. but it fell greatly imo from the first one. Too many characters, too little time. Cheesy sterotypes of the black guy and redneck.....cheesy one liners and dialouge. im still gunna watch (of course) and the 2nd episode wasnt a bad episode, just compared to episode 1 (which really got me pumped and interested) it was a disapointment to me
Yea the redneck was hysterical. All that was missing was the bulging vein on his neck. Can't wait to see what happens when the main character Spoiler finds out his partner's boning his wife.
ya, thats ridiculous.....and its gunna be good drama and i know the redneck is in classic 80s action movies....with stallone or JCVD....just cant put a finger on what movie hes in....is it cliff hanger?!
He's been in a few things including Cliffhanger and 8 Men Out, but most notably (to me at least) Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. EDIT: AND DAYS OF THUNDER!
He was also in the terribly underrated Slither with Nathan Fillion By the way how can you guys forget his bare *** in Mallrats lol. By the way The Walking Dead got renewed for the second season. Ratings have been amazing for AMC.
ditto, i watched that movie 7 million times.....maybe its cause he was bald in mallrats.....threw me off.....yeah....ill use that...
Rooker is from Alabama, and does a great job playing rednecks. He was one of the lead Klan members in 'Mississippi Burning' as well.
BTW, I'm a "Walking Dead" comic super fan (every single issue from #1). All your concerns about the number of characters and not liking Rick (main character) will all be changed over this first season. The show isn't following the comic 100%, but I'm sure the same general direction will be taken. The resolution of the spoiler you guys just talked about is very satisfying if they keep it true to the comic and so far it appears heading in that direction. I wished we could get more than 6 episodes in this first season, but at least it's finally being made.
Spoiler I didn't see anyone answer your spoiler, so I'll take the time. In the comic, there was a Christmas Special issue that catches up with them. The shows isn't 100% comic true, so it's possible that they visit the characters again.
Spoiler Not a great episode but not bad. Just kinda boring imo. But it was nice seeing the racist prick being left for dead
I watched episode 1 today. I liked it enough to continue watching it. I'm not much of a zombie fan though. Unfortunately, the next reairing of episode 2 isnt until Friday. Also, why are all the good shows on Sunday nights??? Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, and now this! lol Why not put some of these shows on Tuesday or Wednesday
Well there is 'alternative viewing'. Despite having cable we download everything & watch it on tv via xbox via our router.
Glad you are enjoying it. As it goes on, you'll notice this story is about human emotions in a survival situation. The zombies are always there, but they are mostly used as a plot device to forward the story. I am so happy that so many people are finally able to enjoy this story. Every time I've been in the comic shop and someone asks for a recommendation, I tell them to buy the first "Walking Dead" trade paperback. Usually the next day they are back to buy the rest of the TPBs because they blew through the first one and got hooked. It appears that the TV show is having a very similar effect and it's awesome!
I've really liked it so far. I love the genre and hope they can exploit the amount of time tv allows compared to movies.
Decent episode. Had some real good scenes and some dumb and predictable ones. One obvious gripe is that if these people are so aware of sound and making noise, why the **** are they not looking for or making silencers for their guns?
Yeah, I liked it too. Also, you'd think they would have some sort of tripwires with flares surrounding the camp or something to alert them of the 'walkers'. Haven't watched a show that I got so absorbed in that the time just flew by. The show started and a minute later it was 10:50. Definitely looking forward to the next episode. I'll wait till the spoiler tags are back up to leave any descriptive commentary.
I love this frick'n show...AMC has another hit along with Breaking Bad, Madmen, Rubicon, etc....not into Madmen personally but I know a few people who are obsessed with it. Love me some Breaking Bad and Rubicon though.
Just got caught up. Spoiler I find it hard to believe that Earl cutting off his hand made more sense than cutting the handcuffs.
Same here. Spoiler Esp since that door held and he really didn't need to do it lol Way to borrow from Saw though. They pretty much telegraphed that happening anyways.
Spoiler It looked like a hacksaw, and some of those blades are a low carbon steel that would be useless against handcuffs. Then again, he might have just been a dumbass like you suggested. One thing that was scary enough: Spoiler I can totally understand if a husband and wife hadn't seen each other in a long time and each thought the other was dead. But that's no excuse to get it on with your 10 year old kid in the bed next to you! "He's asleep and won't wake up." Right. Poor kid has to watch out for zombies in the daytime and his parents getting it on at night.
- Should of let the effer die and not gone back for him. His recklessness is no less dangerous than someone who's been bitten already. Bag full of guns or not. - They do have trip wires around the camp, in one scene I briefly saw string with cans stretched across trees.
Crapola, that means they're going to be shoving this season down our throats for another year with constant reruns.
But the comic will keep going; so maybe it's time for you guys to buy some trade paperbacks and get to know the source material.
I grabbed the first deluxe hardcover from Amazon a while back and it did not take long for me to be ordering all the rest.
