Interesting. This is the latest update: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune has confirmed that the Eagles are now in the mix to acquire Chiefs franchise player Jared Allen. However, the Star-Trib apparently got its info from an agent, cautioning that Chiefs GM Carl Peterson may be using Philly as leverage. The Eagles do have a mediocre situation opposite RE Trent Cole and quite a few draft picks at their disposal. The Chiefs want first- and second-round picks. Rotoworld at 8:18 PM
ALLEN TO VIKES A DONE DEAL Posted by Mike Florio on April 22, 2008, 10:42 p.m. What do Carl Eller and Jared Allen have in common? Okay, what else do they have in common? As of Wednesday, both will have been members of the Minnesota Vikings. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Vikings have reached a contract agreement with defensive end Jared Allen and a trade agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs. The deal will be finalized on Wednesday. Allen was the NFL’s sack leader in 2007, despite missing two games due to a suspension. His first game was against the Vikings, and his performance was downright dominant. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ I would expect a first and a second or first and a third.
Whichever one loses should go after JT. How nice would it be to have the Iggles first overall? I certainly wouldnt complain! Hopefully Allen goes for a huge deal, will make it easier to get a solid one for JT. EDIT-Seeing the post above, a straight up 1 from the Iggles sounds solid. They are a contending team and need an end badly. Nobody in the draft will help them as much as JT will. Yes, hes alot older than Allen, but Allen has some baggage. He did OK this year, but who knows if a relapse is around the corner. For a 1 and maybe a low rounder like a 6 I think thats fair. JT has some years left if hes motivated and contending.
VIKES HAVE YET TO MAKE THE LAWRENCE WELK OFFER Posted by Mike Florio on April 22, 2008, 10:08 p.m. "Jensen speculates that the Chiefs want a first-rounder and a second-rounder in 2008, and that the Vikings have offered either a one and a three in 2008, or a 2008 first-rounder and a 2009 second-round pick." http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ This was posted at 10 PM but I just wanted to reiterate the compensation that the Chief's want.
They almost certainly have the 17th pick in the draft as well now. They have to pray for Harvey to drop, but that seems unlikely. Phillip Merling is a possibility though. If your referring to JT, its a bad fit. They are not contenders.
VIKES GIVE UP THREE 2008 PICKS FOR ALLEN Posted by Mike Florio on April 22, 2008, 11:17 p.m. Holy crap. The Vikings, according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, surrendered their first-round pick in the 2008 draft and both third-round selections for Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen. The Chiefs will now add the No. 17, No. 73, and No. 82 overall selections to the No. 5, No. 35, and No. 66 picks, giving them six selections among the first 100 picks. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/

Rick Spielman is officially ******ed when it comes to trade. The guy just sealed his own fate...again.
All those draft pick and this: Six Years, $74 Million, $31 Million Guaranteed Vikings Overpay for Jared Allen-Opinion Piece
I honestly think he will be, which is scary. Teams will have to choose which of the three they will double. Pat takes up so much space and clogs that middle, its ridiculous. Kevin has such an impact on opposing teams with his athleticism. I am not going to out and say that Allen could break single season sack record but anything is possible.
Its going to be interesting how the rest of their defense shapes up. They got a good LB core just need a decent Corner.
