    Exactly Pad.

I understand fans wanting to continue developing Henne and simply ride out the season good or bad. But I have absolutley no consternation or doubt that Penny will play well and that we will games.

Penny's performance is the least of my concerns regarding this move.

He's right, and this move verifies that some of what Stringer and Zod were saying is true. Henne isn't making his reads / throws and despite what the earlier support for Henne was to the media, this move indicates the support was more hope in his growth than approval of is play.

Bravo to Tony, it takes balls to do what he's doing. I think our Offense improves immediately under Penny and he'll win everyone over.

ps - What a class act Penny is to sit back and be supportive despite being sat down for Henne. Never a bad word, never a negative vibe. I am suddenly excited. We still wont get the ball upfield much, but Penny is so good underneath I don't think it matters as much.

I am Disappointed but One thing I am excited about is Pennington playing with the Kind of Protection this OL has been giving all year...Pennington even with his limitations is going to Destroy some Defenses with all the time he is going to get.

    *Edit*

I see Pad has already stated the point.

I really hope we get the pennington from 08 cause if thats the case we could run the table. If we get the pennington from last year then we may lose every game we have left.

People maybe they are doing this for one game?? I don't know. Sometimes when a player is benched they get more urgency. Sean Smith has been playing much better after being benched for Jason Allen. I know QB is different, but still.

And maybe they feel with a new weapon like Marshall and an improved defense that Pennington can take the team back to where they were in 2008. Pennington is 34, a year older than Tom Brady, it's not like he's ancient. There is the surgery issue though, so who knows. We may be f***ed no matter what. I guess we'll find out Sunday if Pennington has anything, and if not we may see Henne again with a new fire ie Smith.

Right that its happening, sure. Right that its the right move for the team? Not at all.

Bingo... my thoughts exactly. Its the last how ever many years since Marino retired all over again.

It really does feel like its right around the corner to me.

    Dismantle the whole thing again.
As of today the Dolphins are officially clueless.

Going back to Pennington. My God I said the board has lost its mind.
The whole franchise has lost it's mind.
    Fuggin' stupidity.

A couple of thoughts come to mind.

Sparano thinks we still have a good chance at the playoffs.

Pennington was kept around just for this eventuality .

I think Henne has been handcuffed because they have seen Henne in practices and they dont think he is going to improve much for the rest of this year.

There is unrest from the players and changes must be made when things are not working.Pennington is a proven leader and this team needs that at this time.

I have not given up on Henne but I agree with this decision.

So happy with this...we may actually be competitive with the good teams now.

I wanted Henne to work out but his decision making has been pretty bad this year.

LMAO @ anyone "excited" over this move.

NOTE: We still have Henning calling the same stupid *** plays. We still have a newbie head coach who thinks that in order to corral a locker room all you need is elementary quality catch phrases and basic philosophy like "play smart & strong!"

Because Henning just gives Henne such a great game plan and play calling ability and such a well balanced offensive scheme, that he should be a pro-bowler if he could only have a 75% completion rate.

I agree with you 100%. Thats exactly what it seems like to me.

Especially after listening to ricky's comments in that interview with Sid, I'd already decided in my mind that this staff has already started to begin loosing this team in the lockerroom, and on the field.

Things are not good at all right now for this Franchise all over again.

    No kidding eh?

But just wait, all the big Pennington fans will be back here after the season if that does happen to point out how great he is and how he should have played all along because he lead us on the turnaround in 2008, where we won a division against the Brady-less Pats, two other not so good teams, while playing the easiest schedule in the league that year.

IMPLOSION! This is madness. THIS....IS....DESPERATION!! I agree with the desperation at losing their job angle somewhat. Zod, alen1, and Disgustipate, I'll have my notepad beside me and I want you three to have yours. Check to see if the play calling changes. If the play calling changes and we have success, we can't put it all on Pennington. If we do have success AND a change in play calling, I'm going to ****ing kill our coaching staff.

He is, but franchise LT's don't get you squat. The last few super bowl winners all makeshift or average LT's. NYG won with an LT they slid over from LG who never played LT, and he was anything but good that year. Name pittsburgh LT's. Is Matt Light really that good? Bushrod? After winning the super bowl he was on a short regular season leash.

The Left Tackle Position is right next to WR as being the most overrated position on the field. And don't forget before Long, Carey graded out pretty darn good at LT

I think Jake Long is awesome but not at the expense of a quality starting QB

Quick, go buy those cheap Pennington jerseys before their price goes up!

On a more serious note, agree with the people who say it's a dumb move and I support Henne, looked forward to these two quick home games to see what he would do. That said Pennington is nothing but a class act and I wish him the best of course since the most important thing is the team winning, though reading rainbow brite 'I told you so's will be painful. One positive for those worried about Henne's attitude, you know Pennington will do his best to help Henne keep the right attitude and keeps working hard.

there is no denying that Henne left alot of plays on the field. I personally wouldve liked to see him play against the softer defenses that are coming up on our schedule but its clear the coaches felt he wasnt progressing enough. Henne will have another offseason to prove himself. If I was him I would take a day or two to sulk and then come back with a renewed purpose of improving myself. He better hit the film room and do everything he can to get better

The pass that barely made it to Marshall? Yea I remember that play, Henne threw one recently that was similar, except it had more velocity to it and Marshall alligatored it for an INT... there is your once.

Or maybe if he didn't routinely miss open receivers down the field. I don't think thats too much to ask of a QB that was supposed to be able to throw downfield.

Oh wait, let me guess, Henning forced him not to hit those open guys

He is young. you have to let him develop. Henning has become as impatient as this fan base and just as ridiculous. Going with Pennington you are setting this team back 3 years. Henne's confidence has been sacrificed and buried.

Well if you would have payed attention you would already know we dial up tthose "downfield" throws pretty much less than any other team in the league. Not only that, but our playcalling is completely predictable and in some cases, asinine(3rd and long playactions...)

A lot, but here's my take on that: if we want our QBs to play like first round picks, how about we actually spend a first round pick on one for a change?

Have you missed the numerous threads on how the offense can't score any points? Who would you blame the lack of scoring on? It's Henne or Henning in my book. You aren't going to ****can the OC midseason so bench the QB and see if it makes a difference.

Define "dial up" because the routes sure as hell show up on tape. Who the QB throws the ball to has nothing to do with it.
