Argghh... My roster of miscasts and my lack of preparation during the draft has been fixed by my waiver wire mastery and luck.. I need to drop someone for a QB.. Brees is my starter and I am thinking of picking up Fitzpatrick who is playing at home against the hapless Lions....

I'm 7-2 and just demolished my opponent.. Almost everyone on my roster has contributed with huge numbers the last few weeks.. I need to drop one to pick up a backup QB.. So what gives:

    QB: Brees
WR's: Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Johnson, Harvin, Collie, Maclin, Mike-Sims Walker

RB's: Bradshaw, Hillis, B Jackson, Pierre Thomas (injured most of the year but I expect him to bounce-back eventually), LeGarrete Blount

    TE: Jacob Tamme ( :D )

In my mind it's between Thomas (who I'm hoping stays on waivers and I grab after the game or Walker, who is playing for a suprising Jax team and finally broke loose before the break)

So, who should it be? Someone else? Blount? I'm thinking of starting Blount this week against Carolina over Maclin/Collie.. Tampa at home should demolish Carolina and run all over them...

You have enough depth at RB that dropping Thomas should be ok, IMO.

I'm leaning towards that.. Except I have this nagging vision of Thomas putting up 20+ points on me during the playoffs when my playoff opponent picks him off waivers... He'll be rested and ready to go for the Saints if and when his ankle heals.. I'm thinking a RB combo of Bradshaw, Hillis and Thomas could be unstoppable towards the latter part of the season... ARGGGGHHHHHH!!!

The way I read it, the candidates are only
    B. Jackson, Sims-Walker, Blount and Pierre Thomas

In my opinion, you absolutely have to keep Sims-Walker and Blount for week 10.
Sims-Walker has a pretty darn good matchup this week and you don't want to give that to your opponent. Blount has good playoff matchups.

Depends how you feel about Pierre Thomas. If he comes back 100%, you will do some real damage in the playoffs. If he comes back gimpy, it was a waste. I feel like he'll come back at 100%.

Brandon Jackson, on the other hand, eeks out 40-60 yards a game. If I'm you, I'm dropping Jackson (he's on a bye anyway).

Garrad is an excellent spot start QB if he's available, btw

Ok, how many RBs and WRs do you need to start? Is it 2 and 3, or 2 and 2 and a flex?

But either way, you have enough backs that I think you should drop Thomas. Bradshaw, Hillis, B Jackson, and Blount is a great set of backs to have, and plenty of depth, too.

keep mike sims walker. he is playing against houston this week, AKA the worst past defense, and plays them a 2nd time before the end of the season, if im not mistaken.

id also pick up david gerard if he is available, for the houston matchup this week.

i think its down to cutting pierre thomas or legarret blount. id say blount. but i have no idea what thomas' situation is.

Pierre Thomas should be back in week 11, so dropping him is risky. Sims-Walker is generally ignored by David Garrard, so he might be a good candidate to let go. Your WR depth is pretty good without him.

The real solution is to try to work a trade, though. You have pieces. Try to package two RBs or two WRs together to get one better guy in return, then pluck a guy like Josh Freeman off waivers.

I disagree. It's not that risky when you have other very good RBs like he has, especially if you only need to start 2. He has excellent backs in Bradshaw, Hillis, and Blount (rising).

And it's more probable that Reggie Bush will be back week 11 than Thomas.

I would keep Thomas. He will never clear the WW.

If you are not going to play Sims-Walker this week then I would drop him.

If not him then drop Brandon Jackson, imo.
