    Henne is killing our chances????

Brown runs for 6 carries for 45 yards and a TD in our first drive, he gets to run the ball 3 more times in 3 1/2 quarters.

I'm sorry Henning is killing this team, not Henne.

    Henne post-game

    When asked about his performance:

When asked about Dan Henning's performance:

Positive #9: Henne guarantees a win-streak to close out the second half.

Does getting closer to Andrew Luck count as a positive?

Down by ten points as well, which also means Henne had a chance to win the game via throwing the ball.

    24 of 34, 47% completion percentage, 1 td 3 interceptions is Henning's problem?

At what point do the excuses for Henne stop?

the bills may possibly take him, they need a franchise qb.also, although we do need a qb, i don't see this regime taking a qb in the first round. they r to stubborn.

Did you watch the first drive???

We were opening holes a truck could drive through, and we stopped, and we stopped when the score was 10-7, not down by 10.

Henne didn't play great, but you can't solely put this lose on him, Hartline fell on one pick, Marshall made no effort on the other.

#1 culprit in this lose was Henning and not giving Brown the rock.

#2 culprit was the defense, poor tackling, Smith dropping a pick six and Davis was awful.

Also, if anyone has watched the Ravens this year (Which I'm guessing Henning has not), you can run on them and you can throw in the middle of the field on them (which last I looked was what Bess does best), did we see Bess over the middle? NOOOOOOO, everything was run to the outside.

    Umm....

    ((24/34) * 100) = 70.6%

    Also zero TD's.

Are you drinking away the disappointment of yesterday?

just like how some post something negative after a win... you can find positives in a loss, just like you can find negatives in a win...

The facts are we could be 0-8. We almost blew the Buffalo game. We got lucky at the end of the Vikings game. Same with Cincinnati, they looked to be going in with the possible tying score. And we could have easily lost the GB game.

We have not won a game by more than 8. That is a recipe for disaster.

Again well said. I want to see this team win without having it come down to the final drive.

dumb logic... we could also be 7-1

Jets was blocked punt lead to their big TD, and they got lucky at the end with us not scoring (your logic with the vikings)
Pats game was our special teams and could have easily won (your GB logic)
Steelers game we made the play to force a turnover before the Steelers could kick the winning FG but it was taken from us...

only game we really got beat bad was this past one...

BUT both ways is flawed logic, we are 4-4 and nothing less nothing more... Jets could have 2 more losses if not for an accidental facemask against the Broncos, and if the Lions didn't lose their field goal kicker last night and therefore miss an extra point to put them up only 10 instead of 11...

but none of that matters because the Jets won those games, just like we won our games...

And if Buffalo takes Luck and he's as good as he looks to be, then each of the other teams in our division have a franchise QB, and we'll have Henne. That is when Sparano, Henning and Henne will all be gone.

A positive is we will have a high draft pick. And that's good because our owner has deep pockets. I just hope Peterson can draft good.

We didn't have to worry about a fumble on a punt return

Sparano's right arm got a chance to rest

Ricky Williams got to practice his Harry Houdini routine

Chad Henne proved the handicapped can still run...just not far

We can save a position on this team...punt returner
when your team allows points on every drive...you have no use for a punt returner

We don't have to worry about our defensive players getting fined for an illegal tackle

Devon Bess had as many tackles as Benny Sapp...We may have found a defensive diamond in the rough

Well, so much for not making this thread about Henne bashing.

If we're going to go strictly by stats...24/34 and 3 picks /w 0 TDs....how many picks were more Henne than the receiver?

Okay, a receiver fell down while the ball was in the air...just an unfortunate play. It was a high-risk pass to begin with though, so for the sake of argument lets say it was 100% Henne's fault. That's 1 mistake.

The two other picks hit his reveivers in the hands. I don't know how many of you guys have played football before, but even in pee-wee leagues players are taught if the ball touches your hands you're supposed to catch it. I realize one was a bullet to Marshall, but it doesn't matter....it was Marshall's fault.

So we're back to 24/34 with one pick that's Henne's fault and 2 WR errors that led to picks. How many dropped passes were there? I'm not talking about plays where Fasano should have known to dive for a ball in a split second...that was on Henne. I'm talking about the ball was in the receiver's hands and they flat-out dropped it.

The answer is seven. Seven balls (2 of them INT's) that should have been caught, but the receiver didn't pull them in for whatever reason. You can't fault Henne for other guys dropping passes, so let's adjust the stats a little more to show reality.

Henne alone can be held accountable for going 24/27 with one pick (where a receiver fell down). That's an 88% completion percentage when the receivers didn't mess up....which is what you Henne haters should be looking at since I don't hear anyone screaming to bench Brandon Marshall, Bess, Fasano, or Hartline.

When a QB is throwing passes straight to defenders, you bench him. When a QB is overthrowing receivers left and right, you bench him. When a QB isn't getting passes off and repeatedly taking sacks, you bench him. When your receivers account for three INTs and every deep pass is dropped....you look elsewhere for the problems.

It's not Henne....it never was Henne. The Fins choked, plain and simple, and there's enough blame to be passed around the entire field. I started this thread to look at the few positives though, so I'm not going to go into that right now. Problems still need to be addressed, but you don't start with the guy that would have completed almost 90% if the receivers caught catchable passes.

i think this was the first game this year that i really didn't holler, cus or "wtf was that?" towards henning.the abandonment of the running game had me scratching my head and that fake punt to bluff the ravens(i felt we should have gone for it..this was big and it showed the lack of balls by henning)really showed that we were letting their defense control what we did on offense.

i spent the majority of the time pounding the desk and shaking the monitor because of henne's play.

Unless you think Pennington can take us to a superbowl this is absolutely pointless.

I'm pretty sure none of the QBs we have on staff right now will take us to a QB. So let Henne get his licks and see what happens, and start looking at QBs for next year. Maybe he'll turn around, maybe he won't, but you're not going to get anything by bringing Pennington in for a season, getting into the playoffs, and then flopping. Better to get the draft pick and evaluate talent at this point.
