With the Fins thoroughly getting whipped on both sides of the ball today there's not many excuses that can be made for the loss. I did see several positives though, and I felt like we needed a thread that wasn't aimed at kicking a team while they are down.

    1) Chad Henne played a decent game. Yes, I saw the 3 interceptions, but i also saw two Fin receivers tip the ball in the air and a third receiver straight out fall down while the ball was in the air. Several other passes were dropped on top of these blunders, and while Henne could have been more accurate today on a few throws he looked pretty good.

    2) Ronnie Brown still has the goods. The first few runs were the most explosive I've seen all season, and as we get deeper into the season against the weaker defenses Brown's numbers should shoot up by a noticible margain. I remembered today why I loved this guy several years ago, and that's probably the most positive thing that happened all day.

    3) Our interior defensive line looked great. We applied plenty of pressure throughout the game and forced repetitive dump passes...which is getting to a negative so I'll stop there.

    4) Hartline backed up his comments on not needing a speedy replacement by making a few good grabs. All three receivers fought for yards after the catch; it just wasn't there.

    5) Henning wasn't as ridiculously predictible as he has been in recent weeks. Five runs followed by several passes on the first drive took me for a loop, and it did the Raven's secondary as well.

    6) New England lost to Cinci and NY struggled against Detroit, we were beat up by one of the best defenses in football. As the season progresses, hopefully two of those three trends continue.

    7) In the 4th quarter, several players for the Fins were visibly angry. Crowder made an *** of himself in front of the cameras, and hopefully that anger stays with the team all week.

    8) This should have been our toughest challenge of the season, so hopefully it's all downhill from here (including our future matchup with NE and NY). The playoffs are still within reach if we win those two matchups later in the season.

I am not happy about our loss today and I've obviously skipped over plenty of weak points in the Dolphins play....so for the sake of the couple of us Fin fans that remain upbeat please do not transform this into a Henne sucks thread or why the year is over. Some of us like to believe that the glass is half-full, and with half of a season remaining there's nothing to do but accept the team we have and cheer them on regardless of what happens from here.

If that 4th quarter was an 'angry' performance I think I'd like to see the team coming out happy from now on.

Chad Henne was pretty inaccurate today for the most part. We need accuracy, especially since we have no deep threat.

A positive is that Henning called a good first drive?
What about play action on 3rd and 13 when we were way down late in the football game.
That was a positive..... Positively fuggin' insane.
Henning might be a smart guy at the nursing home but that's about it.

Sorry, don't see much too positive about it. Moreover, I am getting concerned that Henne is not developing like he should. It seems that he takes too long to make his decision on where to go with the ball and by the time he does, the play is gone. Sometimes he still locks on to a given receiver and most of the time I don't like his ball position/accuracy. He doesn't seem to hit his receivers with a pass that allows them to run after the catch (most of the time) and the pick on the pass to Marshall was too high. I am starting to believe he is not ready and we need to look elsewhere.

Thanks for a upbeat thread! I agree we had alot of weakness today, but this glass is still half full also. Disappointing yes end of the world Nah

Sorry most people are so angry or rude that they couldnt read your whole post, and abide your wish that this is a positive thread.

EDIT: sorry MY BAD most people are giving critisism of henne not bashing so i'll take that back. But I hope that we can discuss some of the postives here not be all negative. IM HEATED TOO LOL

Why does someone always post a positive posting about a loss? It makes it sound like your trying to say were right there just a few more little things. This team is a mess on all three teams we got major holes.

There isnt a silver lining right now. We S-U-C-K. We cant run, we cant get touchdowns, we throw picks every game, Our special teams play is less than stellar and our coach gets out coached quite often. I think three years into the Sparano deal hes about a 50/50 coach don't think it will get much better honestly.

henne isn't a leader he doesn't inspire the team I don't see the drive to win or the passion in his game at all. In fact he was laughing on the sideline in the fourth down by two scores. Would Marino, Elway, Manning, or even Brees do that?

We will finish 3rd in the division once again. Something on this team stinks and the head coach has to take ownership of it.

No, but brady does it all the time and he has more rings than all of them.

man, it really wasn't that long ago that we were 0-8 at this point in the season. to be 4-4 after what honestly seemed like the harshest 8 game stretch to open a season that we've ever had recently, im okay with it.

the silver lining is that we're not 0-8.

    3. Jerry played a heck of a game considering his illness & how much time he's missed.

    5. Henning called a hell of a game.

No injuries, hopefully this leads to some changes on offense, 10 pts?

Something has to give, I cannot imagine Sparano will put up with this, we are at the half way point of the season, we have yet to score 25 pts in a single game.

there were 0 positives from todays loss. ZERO!!!!! we got it handed to us in every way shape or form, and we flat out stunk. we couldnt tackle. we couldnt stop ray rice for our lives, and we looked worse than a jv high school football team on offense. we basically ruined our playoff hopes, although im not giving up, we r in major ****.

bottom line. THERE ARE NO POSITIVES FROM TODAY. NONE!!!!!!!

This will be a brutal week of practice for the Dolphins. Playing the Titans will seem like a vacation after this week. I think the defense will get chewed out something awful this week after that tackling display. And I think Henne is going to get some chewing too

    Henne should be benched Adamp.

I know I'm being borderline obnoxious about it, I really do believe that to be what should happen, he is killing our playoff chances, he is killing the offense, he is playing really bad football.

As for the D, Nolan is a pro, he'll figure it out.

we lost, their r no positives. we know cam wake ****ing rocks. today though, we lost a game which now has us in a monster whole in order to make the playoffs.

henne looked awful, our coaching sucks, our defense cant tackle, and ray rice it seemed was gaining 80 yds after every catch. awful showing.

team grade today= F. i felt like i was going through a slow death watching them today.

lets see what he looks like when the easy part of our schedule comes. The steelers and jets are the number 1 and 2 defense in the league. packers are 4th. ravens are 7th. the 2nd half should be a repeat of 2008 where we steamroll the league.

Adamp, ask yourself, why have we not scored in the redzone this season?

    Accident? Lack of talent?

If we manage to go 6-2, it will not be due to Chad Henne, he will be on the bench, at this point Thigpen is looking like a better option.

Henne has done nothing to justify any confidence in him, after his 4 game 300 yd streak last yr, he has been rather poor.

i see no positives. this was a depressing loss. its a bit freeing in the sense that i no longer have to stress about the team the way i have been. they arent making the playoffs.

the ravens really have a way of acting as a reality check. they have done it twice in the playoffs and now today. each time were clear signals that the QB of the team (jay, penny, henne) was not good enough to get it done. i have no doubt we will be drafting a QB.

I really doubt we do. We won't be drafting high enough to be picking Luck. And I don't think Mallet, Ponder or Locker are any better than Henne. We have to stay patient with Henne and hope it pays out ala Drew Brees.

I love Thigpen's athleticism but it seems he's pretty prone to turnovers as well. If he is more accurate though it might be worth it since Henne is also throwing picks in every game.

Actually, we were 2-4 in 2008 when Penne was QB. Then the Bills, Raiders, Rams, 49ers, Seahawks, Chiefs, Broncos etc. came along to save our season. Penne looked over matched both times he played against the Ravens in 08, and he was 0-3 in 2009 before he got hurt. Just saying.

Soooo, Mike Nolan, with his 21+ years of experience gets a pass, but Henne (also a "pro") is a bust after 21 starts? Strange.

Not sure what criteria you're basing the idea of Penne as starter on, but even mentioning Thigpen as a possible upgrade makes it hard to take you seriously. Just sayin.
