Penny's efficiency that season was outstanding and better than 90% of Bob Griese's seasons in Miami, 19 Td's-7 int's and a Qbr in the high 90's, that is why I think he is the most outstanding Qb we have had in Miami in over a Decade. To me, that is also what Sparano is looking for in a Qb, and it is not really what Chad Henne "is" as a Qb, Henne is more of a 30 plus passes a game, 3 TD's 1 Int type of Qb not a surgeon/ball control/no turnovers type of Qb. I think the ball sails to much on Henne, you can count on it happening a couple of times per game, maybe he is doing it on purpose but on sideline routes he will put the ball 8 yds over the Wr's head rather than make the play.
If by "is" you mean what Henne is right now, 20 games into his career, then I agree. But if you mean "is" as in what he is and will ever be, then I disagree. P.S. I have no problem with Henne throwing the ball 8 yards over the WR's head on outs where the ball ends up harmlessly out of bounds. He rarely does that in the middle of the field, which would be a much bigger issue.
Difficult to teach a Qb how to be accurate Hugo G. It is one of the things I do not like about Henne's game, even Pennington(!) was more aggressive at trying to make plays down the field and even outside the hashes with throws, Henne and his training wheels simply will not throw the route unless the Cb has fallen down and the Wr is open by 3 yds. Henne does not impose his will on the Defense by making accurate and aggressive throws that challenge the D and it bothers me to no end.
