So its official... Moss to the titans. Apparently we didnt even put in a claim. Bummer http://twitter.com/#!/mortreport
Titans | Claim Randy Moss Wed, 03 Nov 2010 13:17:06 -0700 The Tennessee Titans have claimed free-agent WR Randy Moss (Vikings) off waivers, reports Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean.
Titans only team to put in a waiver for Moss... Dolphins put in a claim for merriman but not Moss... stunned beyond disbelief... guess we didn't need to change the title to the thread afterall
so we put a claim for an injured LB who hasn't done anything real recently, and completely pass on an HOF WR who has only been less than steller just this season. I'd like to hear the FO explain this one.
Damn, he's gotta play the Jets for a 3rd time this year. Ready for another round of Moss vs. Mevis BS?
i'm going to laugh when Tennessee comes to town in 2 weeks and Moss wins the game for them. Vontae better bring his A game again
Schefter reports the Dolphins and Buccaneers put in claims for Shawne Merriman, but the Bills obviously got him. Everyone reporting Titans claim Moss, which means Dolphins did not put in a claim. It was originally reported that if the Raiders didn't put a claim then to watch out for Dolphins, and if not them then Titans. Dolphins will probably instantly regret this if we go 0-4 at Home against the Titans in 2 weeks...a team expected to challenge for a wild card and a game the Dolphins need to win maybe even more than the Ravens game.
but there wasn't even an attempt on the second one more like 0 for 1, 1 INT, and one fumble at the snap
I think i'll find this hard to consider past news until 2 weeks from now when Randy comes to town. After that game, THEN I can move on
You mean the way he acclimated to New England’s no BS culture from 2007-2009? Seriously, he would have been an eight game rental. EIGHT GAMES. Not even Terrell Owens can destroy a team in eight games.
We'll find out if it was worth it to pass on Moss when we play the Titans. If they win, not only will they spoil yet another Home game, but fans will be pissed that they could've taken Moss away from the playoff contender Titans. If we win, I think people will forget about it. And I agree that he is just a rental the Dolphins could've easily dropped. He worked out in NE, he could've worked out in Miami for the remainder of 2010/playoff push. You can say Moss gets lazy, but having him on the field boosted Harvin's numbers and the Vikings offense in general, same for Brady.
Moss would have been worth 3M just as a decoy to help Marshall and Bess for 8 games. Its not like were scoring TDs on a regular basis...
didnt he make it clear that he wouldnt play for some teams? how do we know the dolphins werent one of them?
Right, because Moss was Ssooooooooo effective in Week 4 with the QB that has thrown him Thousands of passes in an offense geared just for him. Pretty sure that will come true with??? Throwing him the rock on a run first offense that he has 2 weeks to learn. I'm going to laugh at YOU when he doesn't beat us.
If we lose out on a playoff spot because of the Titans...Ireland will be packin his bags. Huge mistake in my opinion...
Who cares? The point of claiming Moss was just as much to deny him to other playoff rivals as it was to improve the offense. He doesn’t want to report to us? Cool, at least he couldn’t have reported to the Jets or Titans. Now? We can pretty much kiss that 5 Seed goodbye. The Titans are 5-3 and face extremely suspect pass defenses down the stretch. The front office is playing not to lose. Who lets Brian Hartline or Marlon Moore get in the way of Randy Moss? Minnesota erroneously thought they weren’t winning because they were missing a #1 WR with Sidney Rice on PUP. They weren’t. They’re losing because of poor pass defense and Brett Favre, not necessarily in that order. So they rectified their mistake.
bc the poll on his website had us listed as one of the possible places where they wanted people to guess where he would wind up. that, and he has a house in Florida, and would be going to a good team. can't see reasons why he wouldn't want to come here (at least vs. Tennessee)
I think if they lose to the Titans at home there will be a huge uproar, and they might as well declare it a Heat town before January. Beating the Titans would make people forget. Another problem is if we again can't score Touchdowns this week against Baltimore, people will be questioning it even more.
Who needs TDs when you can get 10 FGs in a game? **** Yeah! Vontae owned his *** before, he can do it again.
