And no, this isn’t about the Rapistberger fumble. I did some reading of the Pittsburgh area reactions to the game, and I stumbled on this.

The Steelers didn’t meet a tough challenge, they played down to the level of an inferior team! What a slap in the face.

    Let’s crush the AFC North.

I've developed a real dislike for Tomlin, and it all goes back to seeing him and a few of his players starting to celebrate when they had the lead over the Cards in the SB a couple of years ago. It was about mid way through the 4th quarter (before the Cards came back to take the lead late), and I remember thinking I hope they they come back and beat you and wipe that smug little smile off your face. I mean, he couldn't gotten a better team than the one he inherited. :pity:

Been saying this for a while and I get crap every time I bring it up. Tomlin walked into the ideal situation and he’s winning with someone else’s core.

If Tomlin gets hired to coach, say, the 49ers, then the shine comes off a little bit.

So, what he's trying to say is that the Steelers did not unleash hell on Sunday?

Uhm. No. To quote Danny Green: They were who we thought they were. And we let them off the hook (with a little help from one braindead ref).

Exaclty. He hasn't had any new talent brought in or found any new talent besides maybe Mike Wallace. He's still playing with Bill Cowher's team. The team is getting old. If they are still good in 5 years I might give him credit but it's still Cowher's team.

    I’m restating Tomlin’s position.

Yes, the line judge let them off the hook.

What do you expect a coach to say when
A his QB is a friggin liar and no way had a hold on the ball with his right arm then let go because they called it a TD. BS, by the time they called it Td as the ball was coming out of his arm
    B. Tomlin knew him and his team stepped in doo doo wining this game
C for the most part, his vaunted D line had all they could handle up front.
    E. Miami is not even close to as bad a football team as some so called board experts are claiming them to be. Forget about the local press too, its sad. An old woman that lost her mind in a retirement home forgot more about football then anyone from the Herald or Sentinal ever knew. Honest, been all around this country and their insight and reporting is absolutely the worst I have ever seen. If they were in a large Metropolitan market they would be working in the mail room at any large newspaper. Armando could not get work outside of Florida for that fact.

He and Tony S. I've seen bad game management by this staff in the past, but on Sunday it was bad decision extravaganza.

Yes, so bad that we lost by one point to the best team in the NFL and thats only because they got help from a BS call.

Absolutely. And it sounds like Sparano is starting to take slight amounts of heat from the beat writers. Very slight. “IGN reviewing a Grand Theft Auto game” slight.

We put ourselves in a position to be jobbed by the referees in the first place. Dan Carpenter kicking five field goals is NOT a good thing.

Pittsburgh isn't the best team in the NFL. But even it was, this would be a lousy argument.

BS. We put ourselves in a position to win. And we would have had that slimey, cheating ref not called a TD when he had no clue where the ball even was.

If we convert in the red zone the way NFL-caliber offenses are supposed to, then the blown call doesn’t make a difference.

They aren"t ? Big Ben has been back only two weeks, their Defense IS the best in the NFL and once their offense gets used to Roethlesslips they are going to roll a lot of people. Right now the Steelers, Jets and NE can beat anyone in the NFC and as far as the AFC goes, they are the top 3 teams. Like I said, Steelers are the best football team in the NFL. At present time, its them, the Jets or NE. Baltimore running a little bit behind them. Giants have some on in recent weeks but thats about it, the NFC West, NFC North, NFC South cannot touch the three teams Steelers, Jets or NE. Super Bowl Champ will be from the AFC, without a doubt.

well according to deion sanders pitt is no longer the "best" team in the nfl, that title goes to the jets now...man that guy flip-flops more than a grateful dead concert.not that i listen to him anyway but he could've given us props while saying pitt is no longer the best, instead it is because pitt just isn't good anymore and it had nothing to do with barely winning a game they shouldn't have against the phins.

Well, I'm hoping he'll take slight amounts of heat from Jeff Ireland. He's a good coach on many levels but he really needs to get a grip on game management ... or his tenure is going to end Wanny-esque.

No, they aren't. Pittsburgh is a very beatable team; as was evident on Sunday. They got lucky with a bad call and they got lucky with a couple of boneheaded coaching decisions on our part. But they weren't the better team.

So then why did the Steelers only score 20 "earned" points. This reasoning by you is illogical. We scored enough points to win. We did, in fact, score 2 more points than they did and put up more points against them than any team has this year.

Look on the positive side. I hate the Steelers with a passion, but they are one of the best teams in the NFL. One of the best teams in the NFL needed a BS call to beat the Fins. Those of us who are going to the game in Cincinnati this weekend are going to enjoy watching a beating firsthand. Miami still has a way to go, but if (when!) the Fins get a wildcard, they will make some noise.

The final score was 23-22, with 15 of those 22 coming on field goals. You don’t win like that, referees or not.

    I’m not nitpicking.

roethlisberger gets pressured all day, we score the most points on them this season, they held us to 5 field goals and the steelers played horrible???? interesting. he just doesnt want it to seem like they didnt win a game because of a bad call

And I could say the same thing about Pitt not converting in the redzone when it mattered most...... They shouldn't even have gotten a FG out of it, and I thought THEY were supposed to be an "NFL-caliber" offense.

So what you're saying is Pitt deserved to win despite us:

    1. shutting down Mendenhall.
    2. nullifying Polamalu for the most part
    2. stopping them on their goal line drive.
    3. beating them at their own game by forcing 2 more fumbles while playing equally as physical.
    4. knocking Ben around much of the game.
    5. stopping them on 3rd and 7 in the 1st qtr but was was given a horrible spot, allowing them to continue the drive that ended in a FG (a FG where they could NOT convert a TD in the redzone).

We did enough good things to win the game, redzone conversions or not.
