You guys dont really know my man Ronnie Brown. If you really know him, he gets better as the game goes on. He gets better with more and more carries. There is a statistic out somewhere that correlates when Brown gets 20+ Carries he gets 100+ yards (of course, cuz he's getting more touches), and the fact that when we feed him the rock 20+ times, the team wins alot more. Need to go out and find that statistic somewhere...

    But seriously just run him

Ricky isnt begging for the carries at his age

I think were talking about being the #2 overall pick relative to performance..

He has this year to show the kind of talent I know he has, then we assess what to do at the position for the future..A big mistake by our offensive cordinator was taking the wildcat jet sweep formation away from the player..imo...it was a major fu$# up on many level's.

This guy from Alabama named Mark Ingram may beg to differ. Imo, the only RB worth taking in the 1R next year so far. Nonetheless, I do not think we should take a RB in the 1R.

Keep in mind that Ronnie was one of the top backs for many years including that year he hurt his knee or ACL was it while playing the Patriots. True, the past is the past, however your post seems to label him crap from the day we drafted him to now...which I beg to differ on. Now, in the present, I agree he is not worth the money.

Yes, I think he's overrated. Most overrated? I don't know about that.

Sad thing is, he probably has as much talent as any back in this league.

Talent-wise, Ronnie is equivalent to LaDainian Tomlinson in his prime.

We never got that sort of production out of him due to lack of utilization and injuries.

Ronnie Brown came into the league as a high draft pick because he was seen as a big back with break away speed by then Coach Saban. While Brown has been a decent running back since coming to the Dolphins. He has been constantly on the injury list and he has certainly not lived up to the high standards expected of the second pick in the entire draft. Both Ricky and Ronnie have slowed down over the years and this makes the need for a top tier running back a very high priority in the next draft.

This is the first year that Brown hasn't produced big #'s, as far as ypg and td's. This is directly related to play calling. His ypc are right up there and he hasn't fumbled or anything bad. He simply isn't getting the looks he once did.

I love how Fin fans always find something to bad mouth Brown about......when he leads the NFL in TD's and total yards he is the best!! He gets hurt and all the sudden he sucks.....this year we aren't using him and so he must be finished right? LOL!! He dosen't see the ball like he used to, whether it's less Wildcat plays or just less calls to him in our reg offense. He doesn't get enough touches.

Calling Brown one of the most overrated rb's in the AFC in just absurd

fact is the newly installed interior linesmen have not consistently won the trenches
they do better @ pass protection than attacking defenses
got to do better @ getting the push to open the lanes consistently for our backs

it all begins in the trenches

on average yes. But Ronnie always breaks 1 or 2 for 15 - 20 yards. He consistently gets better the more he touches the ball

Which team is going to give this guy the money he wants? He's not young. He's injury prone. He's overrated. He was on the trade block at a point and no one called Miami. If he thinks he's going to get the money he wants, then he's going to get heartbroken.

He's seriously one of the most overrated players in the league.

This is true. the problem is that he seems to become more susceptible to injuries as he gets more carries. Its not a coincidence that he didnt get hurt the season that he got the fewest carries per game out of any season in his career coming in to this season. Now hes not hurt this year and hes getting even fewer carries. The problem is Ronnie's injuries. But I also believe Ronnie's days as a starting RB are winding down. He has too many negative runs, still dances too much and doesnt always display good vision. Plus his style of running is physical and it would be best served in the Marion Barber role from 2007 where he came in and in the 4th quarter just feasted in beat up tired defenses. His blocking has slipped significantly as well this year.

    2010: 12.7 carries per game.
    2009: 16.3
    2008: 13.4
    2007: 17
    2006: 18.5
    2005: 13.8

IMO, If we were a top 5 offense, Ronnie would be our #2 as a compliment to a legitimate explosive playmaker (cough cough- Andre Ellington :D).

    Whooooo meeeee? :headscratch:

If I haven't done anything like that yet on this forum, why would I begin now? :shifty:

Ellington is ridiculous! He's a better pure runner than Spiller IMO. If he can put on another 10 pounds then watch out. I don't see much difference in talent between he and LaMichael James. He reminds me of Ahmad Bradshaw with better long speed.

Oh, you forgot Bowers. :tongue2: He'll go top 5 when it's all said and done.

I think if we let him go in the offseason he'll go to New England and they will actually use him in the passing game....and he'll put up numbers.
