    I love this team.

I am happy with Sparano, Ireland, and even Henning. I do scratch my head at times with the playcalling, but imo we would do more harm than good by dumping Henning...especially 6 games into the season.

How can people forget the years when the Dolphins lined up and played uninspired, boring football. When Wes Welker was the ONLY bright spot on our team.

There was always hope that out of nowhere our team would show up and be competitive...the current QB would somehow just 'wake up' and learn to play at a high level.

I don't want to go back to that ****. I am very pleased with the resolve of our team...why don't people question how the defense let Big Ben rape us on every 3rd down?

Yes we had opportunities early on and settled for FG's...but that happens. I think sometimes we don't give credit to other teams abilities. Christ, pitt's Defense is extremely good.

Anyways, imo the Steelers were going to make it close no matter what we did on those first possessions and it was going to come down to the end.

Obviously I am pissed about the fumble call, but all things considered...I believe we have a very tough team and I love watching them compete.

With time, Henne is only going to get better. I don't see how some people aren't seeing him blossom right before our eyes. I imagine he is being handcuffed at certain times to prevent him from making potential devastating mistakes but soon he will break those cuffs completely off. He will have setback games here and there, but damn he played well yesterday...possibly his best overall game to date (when looking at him using a pump fake, going through his progressions, and overall pocket presence throughout the game).

Not sure what happened on the last drive...we had an opportunity to win still, but if the players mindset was anything like mine then I understand why we just flubbed out...I was speechless, and just overall saddened by NFL in general.

It really made me just question why I care so much when teams still get screwed over even with HD cameras everywhere and a 5 minute replay review where in my heart of hearts someone (Gooddell) probably phoned in and made sure the Stealers weren't completely denied.

Anyways...I just wanted to put some thoughts down. I think it would do more harm than good to blow up this regime and/or fire henning at this time. Our defense played overall a pretty good game, but we lost this game on 3rd downs and not pressuring ben enough on those downs just as much as us not scoring touchdowns on those 2 turnovers in the beginning.

We are a good football team.

I agree. Henne definitely showed some promise. And nobody is giving any credit to the Steelers defense, only kicking at the perceived shortcomings of Henning and the offense.

Those guys fight. There is fight in them. Let's hope Sparano knows what to do to keep this team hungry and fighting. Once they quit, there goes the season.

I think Dansby is gonna have some work ahead of him keeping this defense fighting like they do. The intent and anger and motivation was there (at least in the press conference) from him and those guys clearly look up to him.

This defense, for as much flak as they catch, played well enough to win this game.

Until the refs say otherwise, ball-control and defense wins championships fellas.

Yeah. Gotta admit the wind was out of my sails at that point as well. I was flabbergasted seeing this defense have the ultimate goal-line stand denied by utter (willing?) incompetence, but also the extra effort by the officials to cover it up was the icing on the turd-cake.

Overall yesterday the Dolphins played great against the toughest team in the NFL.

Henne made some great throws and more importantly didn't force the ball and made great decisions with the ball. Solid A.

The O-line missed a few blocks but they gave Henne Brady-like time to throw the ball and we even got the running game (with Ricky) going a little. A+

    Ricky played well. B

Something is wrong with Ronnie. He's playing uninspired. D

The defense played great, IMO. They were flying around the ball and yes, gave up a few more 3rd and longs than I would have liked, but overall played great. A-

ST's had that one long return, but other than that 5 FG's and they stuffed the other returns...B-

The coaching (playcalling) wasn't 100% but Henning called enough of the right plays to win the game for us. Sparano and Nolan had this team ready both physically and mentally. A

The ONLY thing about this game that pi$$ed me off was Hartlines fumble and the phucking refs!

They don't give wins or take away losses for potential.
This team has all the potential in the world, but unless we put it all together at some point, it won't do us a damn bit of good. We are missing a certain something that would make us one of the top tier teams...maybe it's inexperience and lack of talent at DB, maybe it's special teams, maybe it's one or two good O linemen. But whatever it is, if we don't get it soon, Sparano will be looking for another job.

    Finally!! Something positive!!!

I agree with it all man. Making major changes only sets things back further.

This team has clearly improved. Not so many years ago, this Dolphins franchise would have been blown out by the Steelers. Yesterday we went toe to toe with them in a heavyweight fight, and without a majorly blown call may have come out on top. Did we make mistakes yesterday, absolutely. You have to expect that though with a team as young as ours.

Henne... the progress is clearly there. If it can't be seen, then I think people just can't see and understand the development of a QB. He's getting better, and better each and every week. In a game where I'm sure everyone was waiting for him to make a mistake against a tallented and aggressive Pittsburgh D, he didn't. He took care of the ball, threw it away, went through his progressions, did a much better job at everything a QB needs to do, and to top it all off, he made some great throws and plays.

The offense, moved the ball better than any offense has this year against the Steelers if I'm not mistaken. Sure it wasnt perfect, and flashy, and explosive like you'd see in Madden. However it was exactly what we needed to do. We took what little they gave us, and made plays, and moved the ball.

The defense, struggled in pass coverage, but that's nothing new. They need time to grow back there. Especially Clemmons. And you know what, that being said at the end of the day it was Clemmons who made the hit that made Ben think his arm was broken, and caused the fumble. Davis is a beast. Jason Allen is getting better finally, and Smith still has untapped potential and still could probably go either way.

Regardless, this team gave me confidence yesterday in their abilities. If we played like that against the Steelers, it makes me really confident that this team should be able to play anyone, and have a very good chance at winning. If im the coaches, I'm stressing that to the players last night and all week. Boys, you almost beat the best team in the league, while we didnt quite get it done, we did things that nobody has done against them all year, if we can do that against them, we can do that, and more against everyone else.

They also don't give wins or take away losses for not having potential.

If you cannot watch this team play and not have hope, then I have no idea why you are a fan.

Field Goals dont win games... Henning needs a little more aggression in his playcalling, I dont care if Henne throws 20 INT's but atleast we'd be trying to win gets and not settling for 3 all the goddam time. Bess is almost automatic, throw it his way hes gunna catch it, Hartline is dependable and BMarsh demands dbl coverage. Goddamit one of them has to be open and im not even throwing Fasano and the RBs in the mix. We should be able to move the ball into the endzone, no excuses. We lost this game because of stubborn attempts to run the ball in obvious running situations against the #1 run defense.

I think it is apparent to all Dolphin fans that the 2010 Dolphins are better than 2009. You're either getting better or you're getting worse.

We're actually improving our play every week. Its a slow walk, boys. I like the direction we're headed.

Great post. We're heading in the right direction and that's all you can ask. What has me excited is we are very close to being a super bowl team. One more offseason of additions and another year's experience for our young players and we will have a very scary team. The long wait is just about over

Yep. I also love how our team scored more points than the other team and held the other team to less points than we scored. Well, until the Refs gave them 3 points.

Mismatches happen. The Steelers "D" had a few mismatches too. Did you watch the game?

It's almost like no one here will ever be happy until the Dolphins win a game, against the best team in the NFL by a score of 100-0 while gaining 4,387 yrds on offense, 2193.5 yds of that through the air and 2193.5 yds of that on the ground and at the same time holding the opponent to negative 452 total yards with 15 TO's and 37 sacks. Then and only then will some people here be happy.

Right, so I was at a dance at the local VFWeover the weekend.
It was over at 1:00, so at midnight the DJ came on and warned that it was currently 24:00 hours and just one more hour left.
He also wne on to say, for civilians, that meant 12:00 midnight, and for Marines that meant that the big hand and little hand were both pointing straight up. :tongue2:

    Explain 30 yards away?
You need to redo your math.
The truth is, the dynamics of the game change dramatically when you are ahead instead of behind.
Truth is, it shouldve been the Stillers that had to travel 40 yards to make a last minute FG to win the game, not us.

Patience is running thin. Thank God I'm only 29 b/c in being 29 I wasn't alive from 1974 to 1981 and then I didn't even know what football was until I was like 8 or 9. Those 16 or so years of me not existing or not knowing what's going on have saved me from having 30+ years of heartache and misery.

Weren't 'we' a good football team at the end of 2008?

Where the game ended 30 yards would have put us into Carpenter range once again. (weren't we around the Miami 37?)

I agree with you. The wind may have been out of the sails at that point. But, there is really not much you can do about that call except maybe challenge and hope the fix is not on.

Despite the game being handed to the Steelers we could have overcome with a 2-minute offense.

Can't give an A to a unit that had big time problems opening running lanes. They got some stuff going later in the game but they got the collective butts handed to them early in the game. IMO the heat wore the Steelers down some.

The play calling on the first two and last drive was atrocious. Those three drives cost us the game IMO.

I don't think 30 yards would have done it. We had the ball at the 33 yard line. 30 yards puts us at the Steelers 37 yard line. That is a 54 55 yard FG into a very stiff wind. we needed 35 to 40 yard to be in FG range (not to be too nit picky).
