total BS (imo), the steelers came out with a good game plan and the Fins offense made some good adjustments. We ended up moving the ball well through out the game and putting up more points then anyone else has against a very good defense. The refs gifted that game to the Steelers just like they did last week to the Jets. NFL = WWF
i thought the same thing. seattle goaline was first thing that came to mind. steelers always get the calls
Never let the refs decide a game. While I know they were robbed it shouldn't have gotten to that point.
He threw to an outlet on 4th and 6. That alone is grounds for termination. What ever happened to actually knowing the situation of the game?
While I agree that the call by the refs at the end of the game was wrong. The fact that the Dolphins had to settle for five field goals during the game was the reason they lost. Also I have no idea what the Dolphins were trying to do on offense in the final two minutes. First they run up the middle for little gain. Then they hurry a pass which was dropped in an effort to get a play in with just a few seconds left before the two minute warning. The pass on third down to Polite was another wasted down and on fourth down Henne just never had a chance. Dan Henning obviously doesn't do a very good job of preparing the Dolphins for a two minute drill. He also doesn't appear to have many plays in the playbook which are successful in the red zone since the Dolphins end up with field goals much more often than they score a touchdown. I think it is time for the Dolphins to spend the money to hire an offensive coordinator with more imagination than Henning. Also another reason for the loss today has to be blamed on the special teams and the terrible kickoff coverage unit. The long kickoff returns by the Steelers in the second half left the Steelers with a short field in which to go down and score. Obviously the problem on this unit isn't the coach. It is the players.
Re: points left on the field. We're playing the Steelers. There's a reason we left them on the field because the Steelers kept us out of the endzone. In a close game between two good teams, that call is a killer. There's no excuse for how that play was called.
How about that BS 3 and 1 call to Ronnie..it was the slowest develping play I ever seen for one yard...why the hell is Long pulling with a yard if not less to go???
Agree 100% we never go out there to win games, we always go out to "not lose" games, it's the same **** we we're doing when Saban was here. The good teams win games they don't go out there trying not to lose.
I respectfully disagree. Should we have done better in the game? Yes, but we weren't playing against a low-life team, we were playing the Steelers, who have been dominating offenses everywhere. And they can move the ball as well. We played very well overall today considering the competition, and when it comes down to that last play, is it really so much to ask that it be called correctly???
Because 95% of the posters here never even put on the pads yet comment as if they're masters of the game.
I know about points left on the field. This team ALLOWED 30 points on the field in two games just on special teams and they LOST. But then again, they did not receive not one favorable call during those games neither. The game is played between players. The goal of the officials is to not get noticed. They made the decision of the game. There is no getting around that fact.
Yes we had other opportunities to win the game but, that play ika made could have been the one that won the game.
Yea, we should have had 22 and the Steelers 20. Are you mad at the Steelers for leaving points on the field?
Sure, we left some, but that is a pretty good D that held us there. It took us a while to figure it out and move the ball a bit. We also gave the Steelers the ball on the 50 after a turnover too.
I've been watching football for a while and you really never lose a game over a call. If you put yourself in that situation it never ends well. Plus we got the ball back with plenty of time to win
BS..... Your statement is wrong at the begining. The score was 22-20 with 2:36 to go in the game. It was the Dolphins ball at the 20. Five field goals had won the game.
It was a bad call but it wasn't the reason we lost the football game. It should have been Phins ball at the 20. I'm pissed and so is everyone else but we blew big chances.
And Henning called a running play when Ronnie Brown was averaging less than a yard a carry...i'm sorry but I can't put anything on the players, Hennings playcalling was enough to make me lose my will I can only imagine what it does to those players out their on the field and they still fought to the very end. Henning cost us this game just as much as the refs did. Oh and P.S. like Section says ^ We just did lose a game over a call...
maybe no one else was open? you dont knwo. i dont know. every play, the steelers defense knew he was throwing, the run game sucked. and he produced. get off hennes ***. he played well. our team got ****ed royally. they have 2 options. the steelers recover in the endzone and its a td. or the dolphins recover in the endzone and its a touchback. they somehow, called it against both....and said....no one recovered....and its steelers ball for a ****ing "do over" on 4th down. its unreal. we got ****ed.
really, cause im pretty sure fasano dropped one on the hands the very next play that would have been a first or close, but you're right, Lets scrutinize one play call instead. Im not a defender of Henning, but we did not lose this game because of him by any means.
