YouTube - All Blacks Haka HD Pittsburgh...... Your gonna remember this beating for a long...long time.
If anyone is interested in reading about the zone blitzes that are dialed up by Dick LeBeau (and fire zones called by others), check out the link. Yes its my blog and it is self promotion. :/
I honestly thought you were trying to sneak in some stream links. My surprise when I find out it's actually self-promotion.
ive read it and i gotta say its one of the better reads ive read in a while. this type of self promotion is deserved. i would promote him but alen cant afford my services wait did i just promote him. damn you alen!
Nice writeup, looks cool and professional... Now, what's the best way to beat it. Henne's not exactly Kurt Warner. I'm guessing formation or motion to tip their hand. Feel free to enlighten us Soundwave...
Thanks. Well, they also pattern read, which I did a five part series on today. It's also in the blog. Issues for pattern reading are two man routes, such as slot going vertical and outside receiver (#1) running a dig. That can cause some problems. Sending multiple receiving threats across the formation because the defenders will struggle to "push" coverage - similar to beating Cover 2 with Trips. Two verticals on one side with a crossing route coming from the opposite side will cause issues for linebackers in coverage as well. As for defeating zone blitz, I'll leave it to Soundwave, as you wished.
I guess pressure will dictate what kind of routes we run at them. I like mid level (10-15 yd) crossing routes over the middle. Henne excels at those as do our receivers when they have the time. I cringe when Henne goes for those 10 yd out routes ever since the New England game. Pittsburgh is equally adept at scraping it's linebackers into those passing lanes. I remember it used to be automatic for Henne when he rolls right and had Camarillo on the 12-15 yd dig. I think we see more of that with Hartline. I like the idea of putting Henne in Shotgun and motioning Ronnie towards Marshall for a quick screen option on 1st down. If they overload to stop it, let Fasano and Bess work a seam and slant route respectively on the opposite side.
Well, I'd like to see Roberto Wallace play this weekend, lil' Beast creates mismatches and as an unknown, will draw the worst Cb, and Henne having two tall Wr's would be good to have when the Blitz is coming.

Can't sleep. This is a big game for us. We have a chance to prove we belong and we have to come out strong and protect our home field. LET'S DO IT DOLPHINS!!!
Same here bro. Huge game, and huge opportunity for our team to take a big step. I have to imagine that since everyone in the media has already chalked up a Pissburgh victory, that is going to have the team pumped up, and ready to rock.
