I think it could be after this year. If Cowher is available, he has a sterling pedigree. I don't know if it will happen for sure, but remember above all Ross did not hire any of these guys. Its not uncommon to give guys a chance, which Ross has done. If they are 16-16 under Ross 2 years of ownership how could you blame him for saying it could be better ? Especially since it looks like in KC things are getting changed around a lot quicker than here. That stings in an owners heart, being told to stay the ship and steady the course when you see another team charging ahead of you in the race.
I don't see Cowher in Dallas. Jerry Jones would try to insert himself in some situation and Cowher would beat the crap out of him.
If the choice ended up being Cowher the personnel transition might not be much more than we'd have seen after this season anyway. He'd be smart to keep Nolan and promote Lee to OC, and blow up the rest of the staff. The D would remain the same except for the emphasis on size...to our detriment, I think. On Offense, we were going to have to fish or cut bait on Henne anyway depending on his performance the rest of the season; The RB situation was going to be tough anyway with contracts up, and a TE would be an early target in the 2011 draft for Cowher. WR could remain the same, I think. Overall, it would be smoother to transition into a Cowher administration than one of either Dungy or Peterson/Edwards.
remembr we went 11-5 n won division? KC similar & that schedule isnt as tough noone feared them, they r a team that others believe they will beat. They r doing well, but how do they do when they cant sneak up on anyone & schedule is tougher
I think it's time to see what Sparano and Ireland can do without Parcells looking over their shoulders. Parcells was brought here to put a system in place. Well, I'd say his job is basically done. The system is in place. For Parcells time and efforts here, I say thank you. You helped restore respect to an organization that was in dire straights upon your arrival. To Sparano and Ireland, I say it's time for the training wheels to come off and show us what you got. And, to Ross I say this is the franchise you wanted when you bought it, so give it a chance (give them a chance) to succeed. But, keep 'em on a time table in terms of how long you're willing to be patient. And, keep them accountable. Bottom line...as long as the team is competitive, and continues to improve, I believe they should be given every chance to do what they were brought here to do. His leaving really shouldn't change anything.
I'm sorry, this new coach talk is just funny, we are 3-2, lite years better than two years ago. The team loves playing for Sparano (just watch the post game talk). Ross and everyone who has ever watched Parcells knew he was leaving, it was not a shock, yet Ross signed off on giving Ireland full power (even with Peterson around him) . I don't get all the conspiracy theories. We really need to wait out the year and see how we play.
It's funny this has not been mentioned with this report. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...e=HP_headlines __________________

Different fashion? I always thought he should change his wardrobe, although the hat did kinda match the grandpa pants...
This is such old news.....but I havent said good bye yet First off thanks Bill, while the job is unfinished, it isnt surprising you left, thats your MO. However in a few short years, Miami did go from chaos in the FO, and poor drafts, to pretty sounds decisions being made as far as turnover of the roster, and some very quality draft picks too...I truly believe Marshall, and Dansby wouldnt have come here, as Bill has that star appeal...so thanks again.. To Mr. Ross.....Bill left Miami with a hell of a GM, is he the most PR friendly, probably not, but the guy knows how to run a club. Please give him the time and resources to complete what Bill intended too. Under Irish guidance, there will continue to be an influx of good, touch, young hungry players, for Tony to coach up...to change anything right now will be disasterous...
Does anyone think that he wasn't going to bail after our illustrious new owner decided to turn the team's ownership into an episode of "Access Hollywood"? Not his style.
WTF are people talking about..he hasn't gone to another team, he's still on our payroll, there is word that he's gonna stay on til next year in his consulting role, and this 3/1 plan with consulting could of very well been his plan to begin with.. Iam not a big crow server, but I tell ya, if he stay's with us in his consulting role, doesn't go to another team, and we turn into the team I think were gonna turn into, then iam gonna serve you mother grabbers crow til you start sreachin like one.. Read the freakin avatar..and quit writing like you think you know the situation, or that all this crap your hearing is true...all your doing is digging yourself deeper into crow sh$#. and if he leaves us for another team while our team has not proven anything, then I will eat the crow sh^%, 10 lbs of it..but the fact is, we dont know at this point what his intensions were from the get, and what kind of dynamic's having a new owner present's..personally If our owner did not interfere with his duties, and he leaves us, then that is bush league BS as well.. Can we just wait a minute to see how it plays out.
no mystery why. To report that would take all the drama out of the situation. We knew Parcells was stepping back a little more weeks ago. Yet ESPN just now reports this and leaves out information that negates the firestorm they are trying to create. Idiots.
He looks like he should be spraying the tomato plants just before he puts an orange peel in his mouth and scares his grandkid and then keels over dead playing chase.
Greg, as Dolphins' fans why do we always have to set our sights so low? No, we're not 1-15 anymore...but is that really all there is to aspire to?
I don't believe there is a buyout for his contract. Once Mr. H sold the team, his contract became fully guaranteed, whether or not he stayed with the team. Basically, it's just funny to me that he's still here....he can sit at home on his couch or he can go back to ESPN or he can work with another team and he still collects his $4 M for 2011 and 2012, plus whatever he might make elsewhere...
I thought Casserly was an old Parcells crony ? I doubt he would come here and try to make Parcells look bad by comparison. Also it was announced that Ireland had fully taken over Parcells power & duties, so I am thinking, these guys either sink or swim this year. Losing record and they are history.
Talking Points: Bill Parcells’ departure is a big deal http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...points-bill-parcells-departure-is-a-big-deal/
One thing that no one seems to be considering is that Bill Parcells is nearly 70 yrs old. He's had health issues in the past. It's possible he's being forced to back off due to his health.
I believe the PBP has it right and they need to win at least one if not two of these tough games over the next 4 weeks and then run the table after Thanksgiving to keep their jobs. I think Ross will look elsewhere especially without Big Daddy Bill hanging around. And those that think that if Sparano & Ireland are wiped out and it doesn't reflect back on Parcells are not right, I think it will follow Parcells around as his worst failure.
If that was the case it wouldn't have already been put out there by his people that he is looking for another opportunity, which he is.
