I just saw the video for the first time since I didn't watch the game and yes it' obvious but...... How in the living hell was he marked short? His knee was never down and neither was his elbow (not before the ball was over the 25 yd line). In real time sure I can see the mistake but after the review too? Crimony if the Phins would've lost or been led to lose b/c of that call!
It was a bad call and they flat out blew it. If we would have lost it wouldn't have been because of that call.
I know if they lost it wouldn't be because of that but to see it in slow motion on a review and still **** it up? I don't understand how you get paid to review a play like that yet you can't get it right.
It was a bad call, and after a review it just made it worse. I dont know how anyone can say it didn't make a difference because it did. We would have had a chance to put at least a FG on the board, but instead they went down the field and scored 3 points. There was a total momentum swing there for sure.
It's not over. This game shouldn't of had to go into OT. When calls like this happen they need to be talked about. The league better start fixing their ****! Is it me or have they just put too many rules into the book? It really shouldn't be that hard to right a rule book about football. Yet somehow that book is like the Yellow Pages for New York City.
The segment on NFL Total Access with VP of Officiating should be very interesting this week, I think it normally runs on Tuesday or Wednesday. Will be on NFL.com.
Though I'd normally agree, I disagree. Dan Carpenter is money, and at worst there he's attempting a FG to put us up 23-13 and I think that would have sealed the deal. Of course we could have turned it over, but on the flip side we also could have scored a TD to put us up 27-13. We were also likely going to kill at least 2-3 more minutes off the clock. Oh well. Let's just be fortunate we came out of there with a win despite the blown call.
We hadn't talked about **** until now b/c as I said, I saw the video for the first time today. You no likey, you no have to be here in this thread
The 4th down play at the end of regulation should be the proverbial elephant in the room. No middle at all. Rodgers walks up. Bell vacates and has his back to the play. Rodgers walks in. Still inexcusable.
Tell me about it, that play was more disturbing than anything else that happened. Hell, we even took a timeout to come up with that. I guess that was Ed's fault also. Some people will blame Ed anyway.
Go back and watch.... Bell pooped his pants on the 4th down play when the ball was snapped. I always blame Ed......... who the fug is Ed...........
Killer wasn't that play just deja vu from a couple years ago? I can't remember which year or team we played but basically i remember our D bending and holding us in a game and then a QB just saw the spread coverage and walked in to beat us late in a game. I'm sure someone here remembers the game, it felt like deja vu until we kept our heads high, played the whole game and won. That was the difference. Actually i think it might of been against Houston, in Houston 2 years ago. And the 4th n 1 was surely a blown call, his knees were across the line he needed to make but as we know it all depends if there is a camera angle that shows where the ball was without pretending to assume it can be seen through his body. The replay call wasn't as bad as the original spot. Any time you challenge a spot mark it's going to be tough to get it moved. It's the one challenge you hardly see corrected. If the camera angle was from Ronnies front side showing the ball at a certain yard marker then it would have been easier to re-spot for the refs. THis wasn't the case however. Even though we all know he had it well past the line. We got burned but that happens. Not every call will be made, i'm glad our team prevailed and didn't beat themselves up on it and finished strong and headed home with a win. Our players handled it with class and maintained the right attitude. That's the more telling indicator IMO.
Yep it was the Houston game. For some reason Crowder felt the need to vacate the middle to go out and help Renaldo Hill in coverage. It was the same thing all over again only this time Bell is still moving people around and shouting out assignments when the ball was snapped. You have to cover the middle down there at all costs. That is your first assignment on the goal line.
if you are speaking of the ST call of the player over the center then no we didn't, that was a correct call...unbelievably.
