Peter King picked the Packers to win. Now that he’s been proven wrong, he’s changing his tune.

First, we are his #10 team:

IMO, that’s sort of damning by faint praise, though he has been hyping up Minnesota in the same column, so perhaps not. But then we get to the player awards…

And a snippet for you dual Yankees-Dolphins fans:

So we’re in the spotlight this week. Enjoy it now, because the Steelers are coming to town.

King picked the Packers to win the Super Bowl before the season...even though he had no clue how they were going to protect Aaron Rodgers this year with that O-Line.

At least he didn't go the "Packers just had too many injuries" route like ESPN did (one would think that ESPN would've picked Miami to win if they thought injuries were such a big deal, but whatever). So I give PK credit there.

Time for Wake to do to Big Rapist what the Steelers did to Pat White..

Let's knock that SOB out and beat the Steelers at their own game...

i dont see any backhanded compliments or anything. Sounds like hes telling it like it is. I woulda picked the packers too if i were writing as a professional and not as a fan.

Our ranking also makes sense since the only games we lost were too his #3 and #4 teams respectively. Now we're going to play his #1 team. Damn is this schedule rough.

Eh, GB's O-Line is shaky at best, their pass D is average at best, their run game is almost non-existent, and they had half their team hurt. It would've been easy for a lot people to pick Miami, especially since they were coming off a bye and 2-0 on the road.

Yeah he didn't even mention that part. Carpenter actually nailed 4 kicks right down the pipe during the game. He nails a 43 yarder to tie the game up and Laydown Martha draws a holding penalty that pushes the ball out to 53 yards and he still nails the damn thing.

Hurray for taking kickers that are used to kicking in blustery Wyoming weather.

but, as we've seen in recent years with brees and Manning, sometimes all you need in Today's NFL is an elite QB and the Packers had that yesterday. That's the only reason this game got to overtime. If not for Cameron Wake, we would have lost this game. The packers will win a super bowl with Rodgers if they draft nothing but offensive line for him.

The game was at Lambeau too, something that should never be downplayed.

If you can watch that play again you'd see Murtha made the right play.

Murtha had his primary guy blocked, but the guy to his outside was going to run free, Murtha had to hook him or the FG attempt would have been blocked and there would have been no second attempt.

Unless of course Murtha utterly blew his assignment, blocked the wrong guy, then had to hook the defender..which is possible.

And another thing, this B$ about "oh, the packers have injuries" well we did as well, no one was crying for us when the Jest did a victory lap in Miami, so how about a big cup of STHU for that noise?

And the reason no one cried is that our injury situation has been a blessing when compared to what Green Bay endured in recent weeks. The very notion of comparing the two is absurd.

IAF being out doesn't compare to Clay Matthews, who might be DPOY right now.

And yes, we had our full allotment of LB's this week, while they were without a good one in Nick Barnett and a backup inside/out in Chillar.

But when you take a step back, you realize we're down a lot of guys too. We just lost most of them before the season, whereas Green Bay lost them a week ago. So it's not as if we just lucked out and played a beat up team. We simply have carried on.

We played four games without Channing Crowder. Four without Odrick. Three without Jerry. A bunch without IAF, who was going to start. Nate Garner was a major loss. Ferg and Will Allen are gone. Edds was lost before we began. Haynos robbed us of our 2-TE packages (which would be significant in this offense). All front line guys or guys slotted for significant playing time. Hell, Jake Long's been playing on a busted MCL all year.

So yeah, they were down a bunch of guys. And we've been down a bunch of guys all season. It's football. We got it done. Congrats to our guys.

As for MMQB, it's nice to see our guys get some love. But to be honest, I don't want too much praise until we really earn it. Until we consistently knock down/compete with the good teams and beat up on the lesser ones.

Until then, I'm happy being the underdog.

Oh sure, Pat McQuistan is practically a pro bowler, ditto Tim Dobbins, heck throw in Robert Rose while we are chatting.

They play who lines up. They played who lined up and won. These arguments of injured teams could be made every week and are useless.

The one voice of reason Muck... no one wants to hear or forgot or just don't want to hear it

Well put and that is what NO ONE talks about... you have to play the cards you are dealt with...

what if we would have lost to the Packs??? Everyone would have complained that we could not beat a team with a rash of missing starters...

makes you wonder what would have been if those that are missing from this team would be playing right now???

SICK, I love ya, but you're wrong. If Murtha did not hold, that kick was blocked and back the other way for a TD.

I know its going off at a tangent now but what about the blatant penalty by Woodson on Marshall. He knew what he was doing and it possibly stopped a big gain. The result was a 5 yrd penalty for illegal contact [i think] but the reality was that it should have been a bigger call. Should he get away with it because the ball wasn't thrown quicker, or should it have been called as pass interference, because to me, it is like a professional foul. If it were in soccer he would have been ejected from the game.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't want soccer style calls coming into the game at all, but shouldn't the penalty be more than it was for something so blatant ?
