What nfc team can beat the Jets in Superbowl

Discussion in 'AFC East Rivals' started by jpep13, Oct 12, 2010.

  1. So, I'm offline for a few days and after watching the 'Phins win yesterday I'm feeling pretty, pretty good! I get online to discuss our possibilities at this point and the first post I see is this? WTF?

I respect the Jets (barely and only because of Jason Taylor), but seriously? I certainly don't want to hear about them making it to the SB this early in the year or frankly at all.

    Thanks for the buzz kill....

i know, seriously im retarted for thinking all those 4 teams are better than the jets. get real dude. until the jets prove they can play with these big teams consistently, dont tell me im retarted for thinking that those teams are better.

balt is 4-2 with a win over the jets
pitt is 4-1 without big ben for their first 4 games
    ne is 4-1 now
    indy is 4-2

these teams all have 1 less win than u guys, and pitt and new england all have the same amount of losses.

if u guys went head to head today vs indy or pitt u guys stand no chance. indys offense would eat ur blitz happy defense up alive like they did last year, and pitt would make sanchez wish he was back at usc.

it really isnt far fetched that i say those teams r better than the jets.

Doesnt Celt know he's supposed to spray raid around this place to keep the guidos out ?

Bickety and BG are cool though.

Where did I call you ******ed? I didn't. Again, this isn't FH. Relax.

If you took the time to read anything I have posted, you would see that I have said that the Ravens, Pitt and Indy are better than the Jets. I won't give you NE because we beat them head to head already. But the difference between the two teams is small.

Now I ask you this. If the Jets stand no chance against Pitt, what kind of chance does Miami stand? Just curious as to your take.

I think jets will lose to ne in ne's house. Miami winning against will depend I think on if they fix the bad things from yesterday. Henne not turning over the ball, better special teams play, etc. I think if miami does the same game plan they will stand a chance. Hines ward though I think is going to cause problems.

alrite, sry man u didnt actually call me retarted, but i feel by telling me fh awaits your return [ although i do still post their plenty] was saying how retarted i am wat i was saying.

look, i understand the jets beat the pats, but is it really far fetched to say the pats are better? i mean, if u look on paper, u can say the jets seem more talented aside from qb and coach, but they just always seem to plug in guys and win no matter wat.

i think the afc is very competitive this year and their will be lots of teams vying for playoff spots including the jets, pats, fins, steelers, ravens, colts, texans, and titans, and i guess we need to include an afc west team so ill say the chiefs for now.

bottom line, although the jets do have the best record for now, its still a wide open race and who knows what will transpire in the end.

also, ur point on how i said the jets have no shot at the steelers so wat chance does that give the fins this week?

well, ill say this. we are playing at home which although u wouldnt know its an advantage for us because we are 3-0 on the road and 0-2 at home, i think its still a big advantage. i feel that although pitt is a better team than us, we matchup real well with them. If u dont agree with me that we matchup real well with them, please ask me wat i mean rather than pulling up stats because stats dont always tell the story.

as for u guys, look when i said u have no chance, obviously every team week in and week out can win, but i feel it will be very hard to go into pitt in late december when its frigid outside, the steelers r locked in and win vs them.

    Your original post read
Now all of a sudden it is
That's a bit different, no? But I will agree with you that the Jets will have a hard time beating Pitt on the road. In fact, if you look at my prediction thread, you will see I have them losing that game. I also have them losing to both MIA and NE. I am far from a homer. I am a realist. And being a realist, I think the Jets have just as much of a chance of beating Pitt as MIA does. It can be done, but I would call both an upset at this point.

I agreee it that the AFC East is a wide open race. I have the Jets finishing at 10-6 (but I did have them losing yesterday). With NE's win yesterday, I can see them getting to 10-6 too. This is a Miami forum and the last thing I am going to do is start making final record predictions for them. But if you can get them to 10-6 or better, then it is a 3 team race. No arguing there. The season is far from over. You don't win squat after 6 games. But 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the division is a nice place to be. Call it lucky. Predict collapses. Whatever. I'll take it. And for me, the nicest part is the Jets are winning games they used to lose in the past. I am pleased thus far, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

i dont see 10-6 winning this division. right now im thinking 11-5 at worst is wat any of these 3 teams can finish and win it.

i mean their is always the potential of collapses, injuries, etc, but the way all these teams are looking, i just dont see 10-6 winning it.

jets remaining sched- vs gb, at cle, at det, vs hou, vs cinn, at ne, vs mia, at pitt, at chi, at buf. out of those 10 u as much as i hate them with the passion i do, they should without problem beat the browns and bills. detroit, although not the same pushover they once were should be a win for them. cin although they seem really talented on paper the jets should win. if they won all those games thats already 9 wins.

then they got remaining miami, new england, pitt, chicago, houston and green bay. chicago i think blows, but it is a road game in december which will be tough, and houstons secondary plus coming into the meadowlands can be tough for them. i see at worst the jets winning 11 but obviously i hope they only win the 5 they have already:lol:

the pats got san diego, minn, gb, pitt, cle, det, mia, buff, jets, chi, indy. they may have the toughest bunch of games left, but with 4 wins, they should easily beat the browns, and bills. lions, like i said for jets can be tougher then ppl think bc they play hard now, yet they should still win. i can see the pats losing 6 games possibly, so i think 10-6 for them sounds about right.

as for miami, they got vs pitt, at cinn, at balt, vs tenn, vs chi, at oak, vs cle, at nyj, vs buff, vs det, and at ne. miami should beat oak, buf, cle, det and chicago easily imo bc those teams rnt to good. if they do thats 8 wins total. i think they can beat tenn at home and at cinn. that would give us 10 wins. remaining games vs nyj, ne, balt and pitt, i can see them going 2-2 in those games, or even if somehow they went 1-3 only, theyd still get to 11 wins.

bottom line, its going to be a dog fight, and whoever wins this division will need 11 wins to do so.

I think you are probably right. I have been a Jets fan for a long time, so I tend to err on the side of caution with my predictions. If I let the homer in me take over, I'd have them at 12-4. But I have had my heart broken too many times to dare think that

Thanks for reviving this idiotic thread. Can't wait for the responses to roll in.

How about Green Bay? They shut the Jets out...in their own stadium. Next. Move along....nothing to see here.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Jets look like the real deal this year. They find a way to win.

I'm still hoping for a playoffs meltdown for them, though.
