Hes dropped a few passes while adjusting to Henne's ball. Remember when our entire team had the dropsies when Henne first came in last year? Even Bess, who has some of the surest hands in the NFL, was dropping passes while adjusting to it. That happens...

The pace for 4 TDs is more a product of the offense than him specifically.

Feel free to state all the opinions you want. That doesnt mean you arent wrong. I really dont know exactly what else you would want from him at this point...

I never said it was all Marshall's fault it just is what it is.
He has not been as productive as he should be.

Oh agreed. Not saying I wouldnt be interested in Evans. Just saying that would have to be part of it, b/c we cant afford to pay Evans that kind of money.

I would be very interested in Lee Evans for the right price. He can take the top off a defense, and with the coverage Marshall pulls... Evans will undoubtedly get 1v1 coverage w/ no safety help fairly often... opening up big play potential.

If you watched Marshall play in Denver, he often had drops (no less than what he's had here) and 2 of the three years he only had 2 TDs in the first 4 games. Seeing as how it would obviously take time to get the timing down with a new, young QB expecting more than what he has produced is unreasonable. By every reasonable expectation Marshall has been what we expected and then some.

So you agree that his lack of scoring is more a function of the offense... and not really on him in terms of his play?

Interesting. Hartline has been a bit underwhelming, and we could use another deep threat/return man. But I'd agree that a weapon at TE might be a bit more of a priority.

They wanted Martin to be that TE that stretches the field, but apparently he was more or less a shell of his former self. Also, while Fasano is serviceable, if he goes down for any period of time I'm not sure Shuler is starter material yet.

Well, keep in mind that would also be prorated for 10 games, so it is not as large as it would look, and imho you can believe Nix is not liking the salary on a 0-5 team, if he traded Lynch that cheaply, Evans would be even cheaper as he is older.

I do. I think a lot of it falls on Henning. Some on the QB and some on Marshall.
Everyone was quick to jump on me and get all bent out of shape because I think now that I've seen him in our offense he has been underwhelming and we need a speed guy out there with him. That wouldn't be a bad thing folks.

Well, I dont really know how the prorate would work in relation to the cap. I was more just saying that moving forward beyond this year, we cant afford to have 2 of the highest paid WRs in football... especially when one of them is completely undeserving of it. Thats just too much resources tied up in that one position.

And ya, I would hope Nix just wants to firesale the damn team and unload anyone who has a contract of any significance.

Like I said, Lee would be a great compliment to Marshall...

incarceratedbob has been so off base lately.

And if I remember right, Ireland says he is always looking to better the team, so that would imply that he is looking at all positions.

The fact that we needed a speed guy was always known. The question was whether or not Hartline is or will be the that guy. People jumped on your statement b/c Marshall has played almost exactly like he played in Denver most years except that he's on pace for more receptions and yards than he's ever had. How can that be less than expected unless your expectations were unreasonable?

I don't see how, when he hasn't attempted to return a punt in two years and a kickoff in four.

Our generation never has struggled with tweeting our spouse....or retweeting! Its a different definition is all.

You young-ins use "key strokes"....similar but we use "Key" "strokes", the difference is mainly in our thrust as its more effective and has nothing to do with internet.:pointlol:

P.S. as far as the WR...I dont find it to be a current need....it would be a luxury for sure...and we shouldn't pass up on an addition that would clearly improve it, but its just not an area that screams need for upgrade at the moment.

    Honestly,

I dont think this is really news. Ireland would look to do whatever he could to make an improvement, be it waiver or trade. He would look at any type of trade...but doesnt mean he would do it.

That said....Steve Smith to go along with Marshall Hartline and Bess. Marshall and Steven Smith starting...Bess as your slot....Hartline as your fourth WR....which we would probably see more of if we actually landed a player like Steve Smith....

One thing about Steve Smith...is he is really...REALLY INTENSE. Match him with Marshall and that might be to much testosterone....

My expectations were to see TD production from a guy we paid an *** load of money to. If that is unreasonable then paint me guilty.
I have already stated he is not all to blame. What else you want.

Dwayne Bowe anyone?? If we are returning to our run oriented offense then pair this guy with Marshall and we have two of the best blocking wide receivers in the league.

KC hasn't been too happy with him lately and he only has an average 2.5 catches through 4 games, and yeah he hasn't been clutch thus far (we have Bess for that) but Dwayne Bowe would be another big bodied receiver that can block down field for our less than fast Ronnie Brown when he gets to that second level.

    Thoughts??
