Got it for the PS3 today. Like it so far the little time I've had to play it. You can tell they've worked on some little things, AI, especially goalies (which you can now play as). Graphically, I'm not noticing much of a difference from 2010, I mean the graphics are awesome anyway. The menus are different, and I'm not sure I like the look... cheapened down IMO. I'll add more thoughts as I play more...

Manged to get an early copy for the 360 and tend to agree. A few nice touches but theres something about it that just doesn't make it "great".

No longer can you ping passes around and know they'll get to the player you want and the player control is a little harder but it's not that much better than 10 imo. Is it me or does the midfield seem overly congested?...

Looks like Chelski are the best team from all the sides i've played against so far.

I don't usually play the "be a pro" but like the ability to play as the team rather than just the "pro" although this could have been in last years version?

    I like the game though.

Actually the more I play the game the less I like it compared to FIFA 10. There's something missing...can't quite put my finger on it. Have given away far too many balls to the opposition or throw-ins.

I'm addicted to it. Didn't play 10 so I can't really compare. Almost finish my first year with Liverpool.

    Already?! Sheeeet!

What's your opinion? Did you play '09 which was probably the best ever version imo. Does it compare?

they've done away with alot of the manager features... team upgrades (stadium upgrades, no sponsors etc.), you only can spend money on players (at least that's what I'm seeing right now). Can't send a scout out to find some player you've never heard of that kicks ***... can't do that anymore. I've never played online, but it seems that they have hurt those of us that play strictly offline.... maybe we should get an online league going? Even though I have no idea how to start one... if there's enough interest here I may be willing to figure it out.

I played it yesterday on PS3 and it is a ton of fun. Really fluid movements, liked it a lot. I still have 09, which is enough, but I don't want to drop 60 on this new one.

Stopped playing it when 2k11 came out, but I was hooked and loving it. Great game. Career Mode is awesome and very well done. I'll probably get back into it when soccer season really heats up.

Got it last week for the 360 and I liked it.

Playing at 'World class' difficulty, control settings on semi-assisted, 4 minutes halves, Manager mode : Pumas UNAM (Mexican league, 3 stars rating)

Overall is a good game, a little bit more tactical than FIFA 10 IMO. Need to be really patient because I have to elaborate my plays to get open space. Is so difficult to maintain possesion at midfield because 90% of the time the defenders go like a homing missile into the player I'm controlling and sometimes it doesn't react as I wish.

Nice gameplay but still find frustrating getting knocked off the ball so easily against the AI but I guess it's because I'm not that good. I don't play too much, love to play these kind of games offline with 3 or 4 friends at home yelling at them. I've been reading playing with all settings in 'manual' is better, haven't tried it yet, I will eventually, but still feel comfortable as it is.

Really hate when my players get smashed, constantly knocked down, if a defender steals you the ball the player sometimes should stay on his feet. I try to play it slow (without pressing the sprint trigger) but still happens. Oh yeah, the AI players always getting the rebounded balls is really annoying.

IDK about you guys, but my AI teammates don't seem to be able to do anything unless I'm controlling them, no smart positioning, they just stay in my way!. hold the LB button which supposedly sends a teammate on a run but still got no movement. I guess they're waiting to dribble three defenders by myself.

Other than that, I think FIFA 11 is fun and a good game but agree 100% with Baboo "theres something about it that just doesn't make it "great"."

The 'Be a Goalkeeper' mode is fine imo, sometimes ...yawn.... but still a nice feature if you're playing in a weaker team.

The chant customization is a great addition if you like to play with you favorite club all the time, the Virtual Player thing is fun, Accomplishments are quite a challenge specially in higher difficulties. The unlocked VP celebrations dances are funny, cannot understand why 'Be a Pro', or whatever the name is, is a solid feature in FIFA and 'Be a Superstar' is such a crap in Madden.

A FIFA cover I made with my favorite teams on it.

    That's a great cover Gio!

I'm trying to play a bit more of late on Pro I think as that was the default level and getting slightly and slowy better. Definately a lot more tactical and have to agree aswell that my players are pretty useless unless I'm controlling them, the amount of through balls I've attempted and the guy has just stopped isn't funny.

Still think it's missing something (a bit like Madden and Tiger Woods 11 IMO) and know quite a few people who have returned 11 and got back to 10 but think I'll persist for a while.

After having played this a lot over the last week I'm going to give it a thumbs down IF you already have 2010... there's no reason to buy this game... they've taken out a bunch of the neat things that were in 2010 from an off game / manager view (purchasing upgrades for your team, scouting players - there is no scout)... the menus are just wierd.. i realize a lot of you don't purchase the game for these things, but IMO it makes the game more interesting. EA have decided to take these things out so you can play goalie and increased the level of AI (apparently!).

I also think as a suggestion if they could make skills easier to learn from a tutorial standpoint, the game would be much better for the average player. If they had an actual play thru on each skill as you progressed thru, rather than throwing you on the practice field with the game manual, this could be accomplished.

Almost like they tried to make the game realistic and took all the fun out of it from a gameplay standpoint. It's a shame...

Ok guys i just got this game for xbox and i have a few questions. My only prior experience with fifa is i've played 08 sparingly. Everytime i dribble the ball i get it stole away from me unless i am faster then the opponent and am able to run away from them. When on defense i see them shielding me and keeping it away, how do you do that? Also i've looked through all the modes(i think) and i am looking for a Franchise mode and the closest thing i have found is Manager mode. Is that fifa's equivalent to madden's franchise mode? I don't know much at all about soccer so alot of the stuff on the manager mode is gibberish to me. I just want a mode where i can play more then 1 season, which is all you get with tournaments.

disagree completely...i tried playing 2010 and it was unplayable...

try holding LT(360) to shield away the computer. yeah manager mode is equivalent to franchise mode.

I will have to try that. I started to get better when I realized ur not suppose to hold sprint the whole time. I need to find a website that explains all the different formations and soccer positions and what I should be looking for in players at certain spots. Right now I have no clue about soccer, but I am really enjoying this game

I don't have 11, but in 09 left bumper is another way to stop the ball (not shield).

I can't elevate passed Pro level... Guess I finally need to learn some skill moves. Wish practicing them was easier though. check this video:
