The bye week couldn't of come at a better time. Personally, I need a bye week from watching this team!
Man I couldn't agree more, I know we have a solid team and to watch them not compete and play to their full potienal is more then frustrating.
The bye you say? The bottle of tequila could not have come at a better time...On a serious note, thankfully it has come and lets turn this thing around.
The coaching staff needs to pull their collective had out of their collective @$$ during the bye week. We've got 3 brutal games coming out of it... Something has really got to change (firing John Bonamego would be a start). Sparano didn't get the team ready to play tonight. The first 2 drives were nice, but after that the wheels fell off BIG TIME.
More than frustrating is right. It's down right embarrassing! All the talent on this team, the 1st one I personally look at is the Head Coach. All is not lost at 2-2. Miami will get healthier after the bye week. BUT I would say that Henne and the ST were a major disappointment! Major!! I would like to see smash mouth football. Get back to creating an identity!
Trust me, this owner will be having a behind the scenes conversation with Parcells & he'll be driving back to Miami come Tuesday. Time off...cancelled.
Do u have any idea how many offensive TD's the pasts scored? 2? The fix is quite simple, Jon "Bono" Bonamego has to go forthwith and post haste.
It was deeper than the ST. It was the poor decisions of Henne. Its the progressions...he doesn't see the whole field. If I could guess, I would say that greater than 60% of the time he is locking in on the primary. I only saw the game on TV, so my view of the field is limited, but he doesn't seem to be comfortable yet. There are flashes, glimpses of hope, like last week, but until he can be consistent- play in and play out, week in and week out..............
Does Sparano get much say in who all his assistants are, or was it more Ireland and Parcells? Not only did they screw up with hiring Bonamego, but they fired a much better STs coach in Keith Armstrong as well.
The team today looked horrible altogether but more notably it was the ST, our run D, Welker, and Henne that killed us tonight. Something needs to be done or this team is royally screwed this season.
I know it's still early, but here's my prediction for this week: Bye:24 Dolphins:20. Bye wins it with the first ever blocked kickoff. Dolphins fight back, but fall short due to that early 7 points. Then Bonamengo finally gets fired after a bad 2008, mediocre 2009, and awful 2010.
Grt8, consider this a reply to ALL your posts in this thread. I LOVE YOU. You are saying everything I keep saying but that a lot of people just DON'T see!! God bless you and your ability to see what's really going on. Suffering is easier when you see there is someone else who is sane and sees what's wrong. Sad thing is, we have no power, as fans, to fix it. Just to decide if we want to support the team or not.
Even WORSE... after two bad seasons of Special Teams... Bobby April, a great STs coach, becomes available this offseason and we don't JUMP on him! Sparano (I say again) DESERVED this loss for his Bonamego loyalty.
He had flashes tonight as well. He made some very good throws on that first drive and some after that. He also stood in the pocket in the face of some rushes with poise and kept his eyes downfield. I do notice the staring down of the #1 option though. That's troubling. Has he never been taught the art of looking off defenders? The few camera angles they showed looking directly at Henne he seemed to really be making his progressions nervously. You could see his eyes dart for a split second and then back. I think you're right that he's just still nervous and lacks the confidence at this point. His decisions seem to be slow as well. I don't know how many times I've counted this year where a WR is open out of his break or open in a window and Henne just didn't make the read quickly enough. It's still early though. The kid may just still be acclimating to the speed of the NFL game. It is VASTLY different than college. If we go to Pennington like some want to do now I have to think it will be at the detriment of the teams and Henne's future development. I think we need to stick with him and if he has these issues through the end of the year, QB then may need to be readded to the draft needs list. Until then I'm not at all ready to bury the kids career.
I agree with you for sure, I just don't think Sparano has the balls to fire him. I think Sparano was just a puppet for Parcells's and now that Parcell's is gone Sparano is lost. Time will tell and honestly I really hope i'm wrong but i'm just not seeing enough to make me believe that simply getting rid of Bonamegmo will solve our problems. I hate to be a sky is falling guy but I can't help but think Parcell's was the main thing holding this team togethor.
The sky isn't falling, we are 2-2, heading into a two week break, let's see what the next series of games has for the 2010 Dolphins before making any pronouncements.
i don´t know about you guys, but i hate when my team is on a bye, i wanna see them play no matter what
bye-week quick fix: 1) replace the henne with Pennington 2) enter: John Jerry, Crowder, must return to game-five with a full strength starting roster 3) screw Henning , let Pennington call the offense from the field 4) put together the Special Teams Unit with the best offensive & defensive players we have that could do the job. let Ronnie, Ricky & Hartline return kicks, use Bell, Allen, Wake, Polite, Oderick, Davis, whoever on the kick-off team. do whatever it takes to get it right 5) never use the Wild Cat again. its no longer a secret. everybody knows about it. no one is caught by surprise anymore. we're throwing away important opportunities for no good reason. 6) give Parcells the run of the team. make him defacto head coach for at least this interim period of bye-week to get this team up for the next game
LOL. Dude I love you. This message board wouldn't be a message board without awesome characters like you. Very different POV, no doubt. Love it, even though I most often don;t agree. Just glad we can all come here and be Dolphins fans (victims? lol) together.
Okay, to take your post seriously, though... 1) I think that would sabotage long term hope of the rebuild and an admission we have no future QB. True or not, the regime prolly isn;t willing to do this. 2) Agreed. 3) lol. I love this. It's totally nuts only in that it wouldn;t happen, but that doesn;t actually make it a bad idea! lol. Penny is very smart and COULD do well in a Dungyesque/Peyton Manning QB system where the QB makes a lot of the decisions on plays. "Checking" at the line and going with one of several options. 4) You left out Zach Thomas at safety. 5) I feel it has it's place. NOT when we are on a roll on a drive and it is working already. THEN just keep running or throwing normally. Stick with what's working. Do NOT insert a wildcat play and disrupt flow. Use it when NOTHING else is working. I also think it works great inside the five, when the throw is not a huge threat to begin with. 6) Parcells never comes back once he exits.
