Delray Beach is really a nice place to live. I work in Broward and live in Palm Beach County and I find south PB less crowded and just a bit nicer. I am not sure about rentals, but I do know this. You'll be better off renting from an owner of a townhouse or condo than a rental community. Best wishes
Hotpads.com is a good website to find places for rent or for sale and gives a cool map view of the desired location fyi
I didn't really see anyone mention these websites which should help you immensely. http://www.zillow.com http://www.trulia.com
Exactly why I don't plan on returning to Florida. Winters are fantastic, but other than that... no thanks!
That's why they invented Air Conditioning. It's an age-old debate, but I'd take the sweltering heat over freezing cold any day of the week, especially if snow is involved.
ah, but it doesn't have to be extreme opposites! I love where I live. It has only snowed here twice in 3 years, and we're talking light enough where it's gone by the next day. In the summer it averages mid 70's, rest of the year it's high 50's/low 60's - which to me is just perrrrrrfect. In the winter at it's worst it will get into high 40's/low 50's (but we're talking early morning/late night). It's never "freezing" here, and the summers kick ***! Today it started high 50's, got up to high 60's/low 70's, will end tonight low 60's.... all while being sunny. What's not to like about that?
Yep at least you can control the cold by adding clothes. You cant contol how hot you feel.(especially when its humid)
my mom always brings up the heat when talking about moving back to florida.....i love that. enless you work construction or an outside job STFU you *****. the most you spend in sun is walking to the car, walking from car to work, walking from house to mail box.......OH MAN! Air conditioning is awesome....besides, north carolina the summer is just as hot, if not worse (no breeze) and i cant stand the ****ing ice. holy **** is that scary to drive on.
Maybe I'm nuts but I don't use my AC in the car much and I live in Florida. I roll down the windows lol. In the summer, my windows are always rolled down and same goes for the winter.
Maybe so. My car is black with black interior, and my AC is busted. If it worked this summer, I'd have said **** that, and cranked the thing, ice cold.
what's funny is very few places even have air conditioning up here. I live in a "luxury" midrise in downtown that was just built last year. No a/c. The new luxury condos (they START at $600k) that went up across the street - no a/c. It blows my mind because it DOES hit 90's here in the middle of the summer. How can any place that ever experiences temperatures over 80 NOT have air conditioning? I took all the air con in florida and texas for granted!
That's ridiculous, especially when you consider that the variance in temps between Seattle proper and the Eastside can be as much as 8-10 degrees, which means an 85-degree day where I live can be a 95-degree day for you there.
I know for a fact Lauderhill is not a nice neighborhood at all. Avoid Lauderhill and anywhere east or south of it like the plague. Tend to look anywhere west of 441 or the Turnpike from Coral Springs north. Of course, any where west of Lyons Rd or 441 from then on is also a little more pricey and thieves then to target the nice areas of South Florida these days. So anywhere you live down here is gonna have its downsides just beware. But, hey, welcome back!
I didn't really look to see what the other guys said cuz well.. I'm lazy like that but I live in davie and it's pretty high priced here.. I'd recommend plantation around where the mor lives ive looked around for apartments a lot in the past couple years so I know this pretty well.. Coral springs is good too and decent schools for the kiddo
I would tell you to move to Orlando but this place is boring as hell unless you like clubs, which I don't.
i am actually looking into lakeland, deland, winter park, oviedo, davenport etc etc...i love orlando. the parks, the gift shops, the lights.....cool spot. its all possible because you opened the doors to me with the pic you posted!
