Heres my guess...and reading the thread....and looking at the number of posts the guys has...it could be credible.

So....heres my prediction, should this be the case.

Parcells comes in as Pres of Football Operations....(I can def see this...as Wayne will finally put a football guy in the head seat)

Parcells keeps Cameron as HC for at least another year. Rumor is that Parcells himself advised Wayne to keep Cam.

We hire a full time OC...whomever that might be.

Mueller is gone....and Bill hires a GM that he believes in. Rich Mckay? Or does bringing Parcells in the loop...coax Ron Wolf? Could those two co exist?

Weidmeier doesn't interfere with football operations except to function as a tiebreaker between Mueller and Cameron. No reason to get rid of him. There is plenty of reason to make the General Manager position subservient to a Vice President of Football Personnel, though Mueller was basically a horrible employee performing the same functions under Nick Saban.

    Parcells is a NO!!!!!!!!!

He comes and goes faster than college coaches say they are staying.

I think what we would all like to see...is a proven football guy leading the organization. Parcells seems to me to fit the mold. It fits the Huizenga mold as well.

    So...it could get exciting....

Non the less.....the more rumors start popping out...the better as far as Im concerned....makes things more exciting!!!!

I would agree as a coach...but this position is different. If hes stays for 4-5 years to help rebuild the franchise....that may be all we need.

The idea of Randy Mueller going back to behavior that almost led to his firing before Saban's departure is NOT exciting.

I agree with you there. By all accounts, Mueller is egomaniacal and power hungry.

OK lost me there...not that I dont agree...but Im not sure what you are talking about. How does hiring Parcells...lead to Mueller's behavior....especially if Parcells cans Mueller.

Actually, I heard on the power hour yesterday, Hank Goldberg was ever so subtle to mention that Wayne's antenna was up and he was looking for someone to head things. Not necessarily as head coach, or GM, but rather, as President. He uttered Bill Parcells name in the same breath, so who really knows. Once again, we'll have to wait and see.

I doubt that Parcells would keep Mueller long term if he was hired for this type of role. I would imagine that Parcells would take the job largely to pick the players himself and mold a team in his image.

I also doubt that Cam would be long for the team, even if he made it another year. Anytime you have a shake up like that the guy in charge wants to bring in his own coach.

Well Parcells certainly knows football. By all accounts Wayne likes big names. They're friends. Makes sense and might be a good move. At least it will shake things up.

When Saban had full personnel power and Mueller was basically chief scout, Saban would give Mueller types of players to look for--certain height, certain playing styles. Mueller would come back with reports on players with his own criteria, not Saban's. Basically, Mueller was ignoring his boss' directives.

Bill Parcells would have the same authority over Mueller as Saban did. There's no reason to think a newly-demoted Randy Mueller wouldn't revert to the same behavior.

Exactly, which is why I believe Parcells, or anybody else hired for that position, would either pick the players himself or would bring in his own personnell guy.

I like the idea of bringing Parcells here in Miami. The guy makes bold moves, and is a respected coach around the league. People would come here to play for him and/or work for him.

He is the type of guy that we need to take over this franchise. Huizenga is just not tough enough to make a true statement, has his little baby boy telling the media that he beleives in Cam even with our pathetic record. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

    Come to Miami Parcells.

According to Saban, yes. 2 sides to every story - Not sure Saban's commentary on Mueller is something we should take all that seriously. I wouldn't say ole Nick was particularly talented in the personnel area either.

No offense, but you're basically totally buying into what Saban said in an interview shortly after he left Miami. As we all know, just because Saban says something, doesn't necessarily mean it's true.

I wouldn't want Parcells as anything more then a consultant. He can get the most out of his players but his MO has been to leave jobs once he's righted the ship, not when the job is finished (SB). Actually then again I'd take him as Phins coach if I were you guys, but I'd keep his input on draft choices and contracts to a minimum. The only problem again is that Parcells is like a Trent Green move at this point...a bandaid, not really an ultimate solution.

The only way i'm ecited about Parcells as pres is if he brings his son-in-law with him as GM. That being Scott Pioli.

I wouldn't mind the scenario but the whole story smells fishy. Either the Fins urgently need a new law firm (one who does understand the concept of client attorney privilege) or this thing is your typical internet hoax. Since I'm not inclined to believe that a top notch law firm would commit such an amateurish mistake, my money is on the latter.

I dont know alot oabout Weidneier (sp), but I do like the idea of a football mind up there helping to oversee the day to day operations. I would also like to see an OC hired so that Cam could spend more time overseeing the entire team and not having to only focus on the offensive side of the game.

It has become abundantly clear that the Dolphins needs a football person in the higher echelons of the organization and Bill Parcells would fit that role very nicely.

I would not like to hire him as a coach as he has had a history of early burnouts but perhaps a job entailing less of the day by day stress would be more suited to him.

He has very good contacts in the NFL and he could attract many of the coaches and personnel evaluators such as Scott Pioli who could be otherwise unattainable.

I would like to see it happen although I suspect the contacts with Wayne are more of an advisory nature.

Just say no to Parcells. I'm sorry but I can't get past the great job he did w/ the jests. Yes, he had success in DAL but with Jerry, Jerry's son and other football people there already we know Parcells didn't have final say. (plus, he begrudgingly played Romo)

Now go back to his bang up job in 2000:
    Having total autonomy

    First RD
    Pick #
    12 Shaun Ellis DE
    13 John Abraham LB
    18 Chad Pennington QB
    27 Anthony Becht TE

He had FOUR chances to draft a special player and failed. Truth be told, no team should ever use that many 1st rd picks in this cap era. But he did. So future be damned.
Still want him in charge of your draft & trades? He's a coach and only a coach.

Anybody who would not want Parcells making personelle decisions has not been watching football for the last 20 years. The man builds great teams, he seems to have a talent for putting together teams. Look at the talent he assembled in Dallas, the second best team in the NFL this year, that is his team. He is done as a coach, but the man knows what makes sucessful NFL players and teams, if he is available kick out whoever you need to and HIRE ASAP!!!!

Ellis has had a nice but not stellar career.

Abraham could have been special but he had to many injuries and never passes the gut check.

Pennington I believe also could have been special but again he had way to many injury problems. He's not done though...he'll catch on somewhere and continue to play at a decent level. With the right players around him he'll be a a solid game manager who will limit mistakes and keep his team in the game. He will never take a team on his back and win won for you though.

Anthony "stone hands" Becht. Nuff said.

I agree with you that Parcells isn't a guy you want making all personel decisions for your football team. He is a good coach however, and teamed with a good GM he can be very effective. Just beware though...he has trouble committing and likes to bring in aging veterans. Not really a build from the ground up kinda guy imo.

I don't agree. Scroll up a bit...take a look at his first round choices from that year alone, then look what kind of careers they've all had. Using 4 first round choices is bad enough, but the way things shook out hurt the franchise more then it helped it. I would not give Parcells free reign at this point, but again thats just my opinion.

I want Bill Parcells as our Head Coach. However, I would be thrilled to have him with the Dolphins in any fashion. He is a born winner and I consider him one of the greatest Head Coaches in NFL history. A sure-fire Hall-of-Famer, IMO.

If Parcells came here as President, it would be the best thing possible for rebuilding the Fins into a successful franchise again. He won't stay for long but he'll leave behind the structure and personnel that would keep us winning for years to come after he leaves.

Parcells would likely bring in his own GM, maybe Scott Pioli who he;s related to in some way. Or he would help Randy Mueller become a much better GM under Parcells tutelage. He would likely give cam one more year to see what he could do with better personnel.

He never stays long but look at the teams he's coached, every one of them has been a contender for years since his tenure there; Giants, Pats, Jets, now the Cowboys will likely go to the SB with the players and organization Parcells put in place.

I will PRAY we get him for our President. Would be the best thing Huizenga ever did. Could happen too, Wayne and Bill are good friends.
