http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/18233/accuscore-tough-sledding-for-dolphins I guess all those computers did not acknowledge the fact that the Saints ran very good against this defense and I believe we have better running backs than the Saints do. This just makes my blood boil and makes me grind my teeth. I cannot wait to see this game on Sunday! I really hope our offense steps up big and our defense brings the Heat!
You are mad because a computer spit out an unfavorable prediction. There are many more things to worry about in life my friend.
I bet Accuscore said San Diego would've beaten K.C. last week. Same with the Cowboys beating the Redskins and S.F. beating Seattle.
I think we would know by around 4pm. Thats like saying we'll know for sure by week 15 if we beat the vikings in week 2.
They were tough to run on last year but this is a new year and things change. They may be using last years statistics for their analysis.
Are these the same computers that give us the BCS rankings every year? If so, I don't give a **** If they're up front and just admit that this AccuScore is in fact: Then I might give a hoot simply because Madden 99 was the shiznit.
The fact of the matter is there is nothing they can base these simulations on other than one game this year, and the team as it stood last year (one year younger, and any changes they had on defense/offense). I do think its going to be a tough haul though. I think our offense can put up the points IF we can keep Favre from turning it into a gunslinger competition, and keep AP from having a big game. I think AP has a lot to prove after last season though. I think he'll be harder to stop than Favre honestly. Favre is going to throw at least one pick this game, and the DBs HAVE to real it in, no more of these missed opportunities.
Well comparing the Saints to the Dolphins is a stretch, the Saints have a top notch Qb and passing game so I am sure the Vikes were playing against the pass most of the game. I believe the Vikes will be playing against the run most of the time against the phins, Henne will need to play error free football. The good part is that computers wont be playing the game, if Miami is determined and hungry they can force Favre into making bad decisions and turn overs. But I crunched the numbers into my simulator and here are the results. Miami 23 Vikings 19 Henne 19-26- 232 yards 1 Td Brown 19 carries for 84 yards Williams 12 Carries for 45 yards Marshall 6 catches for 47 yards 1 Td
Only the Vikings will have "Tough Sledding", certainly Farve who will be running for his life from Misi, Dansby, and Wake.
Remember how old Keith Traylor looked in 08? DT's when they hit around 36-38 (Pat Williams is 37) seem to lose pretty much all the burst that they had. It's like when they get that age a lot of them become "old" overnight and it sure looked like that against the Saints. The Dolphins are a better running team than the Saints so it will be VERY interesting to see how that plays out.
I was just checking out the FOX stuff earlier today... 25-15 Vikings to be exact, was the prediction! Although respect is nice the underdog role is always fun!
The Vikes are 8th in the league in rush defense, and yielded only 91 yrds rushing so I would not say that the Saints ran all over them. I would say that they have one of the better defensive lines until proven otherwise
15 is a strange number to have in football....the chances of us hitting that twice in a row have to be so slim..........
well I guess we better just pack this one up then. 1 and 1 on the season it is... wait, what? they have to play first?
Our run d is so much better with Dansby controlling the middle and YBell and Clemons stepping up and making tackles. I believe our run D is our strength on D that will make us very tough to run on, even for the elite backs. We limit AP we can win this game. You take away the run on Minny, make them play from behind they are a different team. Farve can tear up the passing game when you need to pull extra's in to stop AP, if you can stop AP with your regular assignments Farve will make mistakes. They have no outside threat. Their Oline is in shambles besides Hutch. Their tackles are a mess. This is not the same vikes team compared to 2009. I have a feeling R&R will get some dump passes in the flats to take the D line out of the equation. Make their corners and safeties make tackles, which means they will have to get around The Beast's blocking. Henning has lots of options to make sure Ronnie and Ricky get the ball in space. We don't have to run up the gut on most of our plays. Their DB's are thin and have no depth, if they have to chase R&R early it could expose them for late in the game. Lots of things working in our favor for this matchup, it will be that much easier if we can establish an early lead to further take their ground game out of the equation. Many things i don't think Accuscore realistically predicts.
Just read an interesting Stat D1: Since 1990 only 13% of the teams that started 0-2 made the playoffs. Hmm, Jest lose, Vikes lose...
Garbage in, garbage out. These simulations are based only on analysis of what has happened in the past. If the light goes on for someone, if a group of guys picks that game to jell, if someone has a career day, if some coaching wrinkle is introduced, or if someone lays the ball on the ground at the wrong time, the simulation is worthless. Lies, damned lies and statistics.
