Sorry guys, i dont want to take away from the excitment of our undefeated season but I'm always looking at our future and these are the guys I would like to see here next year. QB-Henne/Thigpen- not sure how our QB situation works out but I would like to keep Thigggy as a backup RB-Brown/Williams- want these guys on the team but have to bring in a young stud FB-Polite- no explanation needed WR-Marshall/Bess- not too confident that Hartline can become a #2 in this league but love these two guys T-Long/Garner-i could see us losing carey after this year, maybe drafting a rookie G-Jerry/Incognito- could be set for a while at the G spot, hmm, I like the way that sounds C- not sure Berger will stick around so he doesnt make the cut but lets hope he proves me wrong DE-Langford/Odrick/Mcdaniel- Stacked, especially with Starks taking up snaps on the outside NT-Starks/Solai- I expect Solai to improve, hopefully enough to allow us to look at other spots in drafts for years to come OLB-Wake/Misi/Ike- Love Misi and Wake and I think Ike is a bull in the running game ILB-Dansby/Johnson/Edds- this might be the last year for chrowder in Miami and I'm just not sure if Dobbins is gonna prove enough to Sparano. We know the FO doesnt like injuries. But Johnson is a thumper and i cant wait for Edds to be healthy CB-Davis/Allen- Smith may be on the hot seat and Allen is the jack of all trades, other spots remain open SS-Bell- Bullfrog Bell FS-Clemons- that last game impressed me alot he looked fast and aggressive, I like that! This is just my list of people that to me I feel they should be on this team next year. Besides our RB situation and Bell at SS, we have a really young base for our team of the future. Any other names you feel should have made the list???
relax guys, just thining ahead. These are some guys I see as our base. and yes Mike Nolan, Carpenter(the kicker) and Fields(the punter) are on there too
Two RBs in their 30s, a strong safety who'll be 33, and a left guard on a one year contract? Stuff like that is exactly why this is way too early to start speculating about the 2011 roster.
In your opinion. I think this is our base. Bell is a young 33 and I think Incognito is here for the long haul. I would like to see those two Rb's back. So if you disagree with my selections that fine but dont come on this thread just to say its too early for this.
The point is that you have no idea how these players will hold up and whether they'll be in football shape over a long enough term to qualify as core players. In the case of Ronnie, Ricky, and Incognito, they may not even be on the team next year: all have contracts expiring at the end of the season. So, yes, it is too early. The purpose of bringing up those players is to explain to you exactly why.
Okay so what if i changed the title of the thread to: Teams' core players for a future Super Bowl run. Would that be better? We dont know if any of our players are going to be in football shape next year and it doesnt matter about contract. We have shown we will cut a bad player contract or no contract. Would you like those players to be part of this teams core or do you have any other players you believe will become our core players?

I think Incognito will be here next year. Remember, they tried to get him on the cheap for two years but him or his agent, forget, said not, one year at that rate. Forget how it went but it was something like that. I think he signs a long term deal and actually, call me crazy, Sparano makes him the starting center during that contract. The guy is a hard nosed football player and exactly what is needed at the point of attack.
I like looking at our young, true core miami dolphins.. One more draft, one more free agency....dynasty..
