Dan Hennings offense does not work with Henne.

Anybody else see Hartline get the hook for Moore?? Hartline couldn't hang onto anything today. Seems like he is having a case of the droppsies this year.

He has now started a grand total of 14 games....... 14

    5-2 vs the AFC East

All things considered I thought he did a good job of managing this game and not giving Buffalo the easy points they needed to steal a win.

He hasn't even played a full season's worth of games yet, he still needs to grow into this offense.

And if Henning's offense won't work for Henne........ replace Henning

    1) there were no running lanes. the offensive line failed to get a push on a third rate defensive trench, hence, the running game was starkly under par... with no running game to fear Buffalo played the pass & we (Henning) had to push it even when it wasn't clicking. it was pathetic
    2) the passing game fared not much better considering the inferior quality of the Buffalo pass rush. they looked like a first year rebuilding project
    3) our offensive line was simply not dominant. they have a week to get it together, the Viking's defense is for real & has a pass rush. it can be fixed, but it has to be fixed quickly with no more excuses.
    4) no one wants to hear it, but I guarantee it: if Henne doesn't step up by game four then Pennington will start in game five

I wouldn't object. Hartline has something like six drops going back to the preseason.

    1) not sure how you can say that I saw plenty of holes opening up.
    2) not much better? Im not sure how much time you expect them to give henne but there were some plays where he could have built a camp fire back there.
    3) Not dominant, no, but did they dominate the bills line, again not sure what you are looking for but our rbs went for a total of 120+ yards on the ground and henne had plenty of time to throw back there.

With regards to point number two: Henne held on to the ball longer than he should have. I can't exactly argue with the other two.

132 yards rushing with NO holes opened up....impressive.

Henne had more time to throw the football than he ever has. Your insane if you didn't see that. He actually had so much time he looked down the field instead of dumping the ball off as soon as he didn't see his WR's open. He had time to let the play develop and let the recievers improv a little.

Dan Hennings offense does not work with Henne? more excuses... fix the offensive line & run the ball. if that doesn't open the passing game, then start Pennington

What pissed me off is that we were seemingly content to sit on 10-3 lead for the majority of the game. We only attempted to go downfield once.

You cant pull that play not to lose bull**** every week.

And I dont get why they kept pulling Ronnie for Ricky, Ronnie was the better player today why not feed the beast?

Pretty much wrong. We rushed for over 120 yards. Ronnie had 65, Ricky had 62, and Polite had 6.

They had the 2nd ranked pass defense in the NFL last year. But, ok. We took what they gave us on the field with our short passes. Its what the gameplan called for, that same gameplan won us the game. Whats the problem?

They weren't bad at all really. most of the time Henne had lots of time to throw, they were decent in the run game as well. I didn't think they were bad, coulda been better, sure.

He stepped up, won us the game. Without the 6 drops, I think his completion % would have been in the 80's I think. So... at this point I dont see this happening at all. You might not want to believe it, because you're apparently searching for Henne to be Peyton Manning, but I just dont see it happening. Are you forgetting this team was either 0-3 or 0-4 last year with Pennington as the starter? Are you forgetting he's had his throwing shoulder put back together again this offseason? Sorry, I just don't see it happening. If Henne starts to absolutely stink, adn throws INT's, sure, maybe. If he plays like today, it wont happen.

    This.

Right before the half, we're on the Bills 36, 3 TO and there was no urgency to get the ball down the field. We wasted time and didn't take any shots to score. All kinds of time is draining off the clock in the meantime.

We settle for a FG and miss it. Totally unacceptable.

My issue is the lack of touches for Ronnie Brown. The guy was churning out chunks of yards early, than it seems like he does not get the ball for 2 quarters.

And he can catch the ball and we never throw it to him.

We averaged over 4 yards a carry, Brown was getting chunks each carry. The problem is they don't give him 25 carries.

The offensive line did a good job run blocking and a decent job pass blocking, Henne held onto the ball a few times to long.

This!! Ronnie was on fire early, and then we just abandoned him. That guy should be touching the ball a minimum of 20 times per game. We've been saying that his whole career, yet, still, nobody does it. FEED THE BEAST.

Now, let me get this straight:

-Henne did not turn the ball over

-Henne broke a 2 season opening day losing streak

-Henne broke a 5 season opening day winning streak

-Henne broke a losing streak in Buffalo that stretched back what 7 yrs?

And now this thread pops up?

Sorry fellas, this is close to a Zoo Level thread imho.:pity:

    Folks, We WON, ok!

Henne was fine against a "GREAT" pass defense, a rating of 40 last time and 75 this time, 3 picks and a loss last time, no picks and a win this time. I can't believe I'm the guy defending Henne cause I'm Mr. Show Me!

Ronnie and Ricky put up 132 yards on the ground, we had 70+ plays to their 50+ plays and dominated TOP. Would have loved to see Ronnie used more cause 12 carries ain't enough imho. Otherwise it was well called imho.

Do the WR's need to catch the ball, hell yeah! The game would have loooked different if they had and more than likely would have been called differently but the bottom line is we won!

Oh, and BTW, I'm betting we can/will beat the Vikes too! Their secondary is nowhere near as good as the Bills! And if NO could run on them we can too!

Exactly GA, all of the bull**** about "David Martin will come back to haunt us" or "I cannot believe Sparano cut so and so" meant..nothing.

I do think Hartline should have one more half to prove himself, if he doesn't he really should be sat in favor of Moore or Wallace as his drops in the preseason have continued into the regular season.

We could afford to cut back on the WildCat a bit, especially when Henne is in a groove. I support the WildCat in spurts but it can be a drive killer when your QB gets hot.

Maybe they are keeping a leash on Ronnie because they know he is injury prone. When he goes into beast mode he takes an early vacation around week 7-8.

Come on now... Ronnie and Marshall were EASILY the best players on the field! Lets not get into the injury crap! Made of glass??? How many of us would hold up through one game of that type of abuse, let alone a whole season!

As for Henne, okay, but needs to be more accurate. I disagree that Henning called a good game.

I'm pumped we won, but serisouly, there are definitley legitimage issues with this game. We scored 13 points against a team that is bottom tier. 13 That is simply not getting it done, regardless of how well you thought Ricky, Ronnie, or Henne played. Especially when they have an explosive guy like Spiller back there, it only takes one breakdown.

Henne played a game very similar to how I would have expected Pennington to play this game, and I'm hoping it was because of the wind and nothing else. They really need to let him get the ball downfield more than once or twice a game, because if he's not doing that, Pennington would be a better fit for this offense IMO.

Agreed Rocky...Buckeye, would you be happy if Henne went 41/52 for 380 yrds, 3 tds and lose ?? I don't get the criticism. What I will say is that he ran the offense the way Henning wanted it for Barfalo. Keeping the ball out of Spillers hands was paramount. The jills are a team that if they get on a roll, they can hurt us (remember last season)... So they held the ball with the short passing game, seemingly running the same plays over and over. Also, remember that there were about 6 drops in that game...even if you don't count the long one to Marshall that was underthrown (even tho he should have caught that), Bess, Hartline, Fasano, Polaka, Ricky...they all missed one here or there that could have made the difference....

BTW, keep in mind that while the jills aren't the Vikes, they do have a very good secondary, so some of that playcalling was a reaction to their D...

As I've said in other posts, what we seem to be missing is a killer instinct, both offensively and defensively...Henne can be alright....he needs to work, no doubt, but we need to make a catch or a throw or stop an offense when it counts more often...That's what Henne is missing, but is it really Henne or is it Henning and Sparano ??

If we have any other offensive coordinator in the league Miami scores 27+. I firmly believe that. I know a lot of people on here love the guy (which I simply cannot understand why). I don't particularly like sweating out seemingly EVERY game Miami plays. I guess some of you do. This offense is built to be run more efficiently. Basically, with Henning at the helms I would compare it to having a really fast car with a Cobra engine, but the owner decided to put a "governor" on the engine. Hey Dan...take the governor off and let this offense do what it's capable of. Maybe they didn't want to "show their hand" against Buffalo, and save the good stuff for the better teams. I REALLY hope that is the case. Because I saw what everyone else saw yesterday. It seems like they have lost a lot of faith in Henne because of the decline at the end of last season. I hope that isn't the case. And to add it all on top of it, those recent alleged comments coming from Parcells about being "disappointed in Henne" doesn't exactly seem like a coincidence all of a sudden. I have said it before and I'll say it again, I have faith in this offense and Chad Henne, I just do NOT have faith in the person utilizing the players we have on offense. It's like WANNYBALL all over again!!!! Seriously.
