Bills Parcells reportedly "disappointed" in Chad Henne

This isnt exactly high praise, and ultimately I agree, we havent seen enough yet, to surely say he is the franchise guy we have been looking for....

According to NFL.com's Vic Carucci, former Dolphins VP of Football Operations Bill Parcells was "very disappointed" in the development of Chad Henne before stepping down earlier this week.

"I will say, for whatever weight this carries, that Bill Parcells is very disappointed in him," Carucci said on the radio Friday. "But that's not what made Bill resign his position or anything." Henne was very bad in the preseason, completing fewer than 50 percent of his passes with a 5.1 yards per attempt average. He certainly can't be called a bust yet, but we've seen nothing since the end of 2009 that suggests Henne will take "the next step."

I hope it does, but this kinda dumb arse timing on Parcells part to just air drop this the Friday before Opening Day, it's probably stuff Henne himself has already heard, but still.

I can see why Parcells only stays in places for 3yrs or so.

 

Keep in mind Deej, Carracci is the same guy who let be known that "Parcells never wanted Pat White".

Meaning, Parcells recently told Carucci he never wanted Pat White, even though we know he did. Which means Parcells is trying to whitewash his two years of full control. Which means I'm inclined to believe that he views Henne as a disappointment.

 

That is my read on this as well, Parcells doesn't just leave, he burns the bridge on his way out of town.

Henne's ability to read the field must be what he is not happy with, Eh, to me they put soo much value on practice and not enough on ingame that to my eyes they come off as anal control freaks.

The same was said about Tom Coughlin, then he just..eased up and they won the SB.

For the most part,I liked what they said about the team.

 

The only thing that surprises me about this is that Carucci would go public with insider info gained in confidence...unless Parcells "planted" it in his own inimitable way to motivate Henne.

A guy with 3 training camps under his belt, who started extensively last season, should be more solid going into this season.

And hey - Carucci said it, this isn't some third-hand report. And he didn't qualify it; he didn't say, "I think Bill Parcells believes..."

 

Vic Carrucci has been around forever. He's someone Parcells talks to. His word certainly carries weight.

He was a guest on that show.

 

Why would he be doing that?
He has NOTHING to be ashamed about.It's not like the Henne pick is going to diminish what he has done throughout his career.

If I can take a stab at this.If I know the type of person Parcells is,he doesn't give a s*&% about what other people think.That's the mentality he has.

 

That or this could simply be motivation, keep in mind Phil Simms called Bill Parcells "a mean man" for a reason..maybe Tuna thought he was going soft?

 

And yet, he's doing it. You tell me.

 

Reading the field and the touch pass IMO. And we're still seeing him lock on. Twas a problem coming out of college.

He's only had 13 starts though. And I'd love to see us take the reigns off a bit.

 

If this is true, then Parcells needs to STFU or get the hell out of town. He's not helping this team by leaking these types of thoughts.

No where in the original post does it say Parcells
dropped this tidbit the friday before opening day

Actually, he is helping, at least imo, Henne's game is just "good" he has to take it to "great" there "good" is not good enough.

 

Exactly, so the Old Man cockpunches Henne for effect right before Opening Day.

it's alright,bro. i will hold off until all facts are straight.i also suggest other speculations should halt also.

there are other factors(and motivations imo) that i'm sure no one is aware of. all of this "talk" is just what it is.let it play out and we will find out eventually.

Henne wasn't THAT bad during the preseason---the main problem he seemed to have was Brandon Marshall dropping the ball. And that DOES worry the hell out of me.

 

In all seriousness. Is this cause for lowering my expectations enough to enjoy watching this season and all the pleasant surprises that may or may not come with it? I recall having very low expectations for the 2008 team. Hmm. Might enjoy this season after all.

Also, does Parcells unknowingly take pressure off Henne, or place more to prove Parcells wrong in his assessment. Because we all know how much Tony Romo sucks, after all.

 

I can completely see that. Parcells has done that type of stuff before and he'll do it again.
If Henne has any pride and competitive fire those remarks will bring out the best in him.
