I haven't been this excited since we signed Charlie Rogers.

 

So when we do sign him. One could safely assume Ireland made this decision?

good move miami. Good to see them taking special teams and specifically kr/pr serious. This should be good for Bess as well, now he can concentrate souly on WR.

And he will have a big year imo

 

That's the same twitter that pretty much started the speculation. I have yet to see anything else as far as him actually signing. Even last night after that tweet the player said he was 'on his way to Miami' and didn't say anything about a deal.

Where did you find that at? Still not finding anything concrete as far as the signing.

 

Finally some more solid confirmation. Good signing. Especially when it updates for Madden as I can't take anymore Cobbs/Bess returning.

On a serious note, I've had about enough of Cobbs returning kick offs. It got to the point I was happy with the 22 yard line. Terrible. With Bess on the punt returns, you knew he could make a 15 yard gain, but I don't think anyone ever expected him to break one for a TD.

Now we have a dynamic return specialist that can help our field position, if healthy.

Everyone is talking about whether we signed him or not. Now that he is, officially, what is the status of his knee? Anyone?

 

Seeing it multiple places now, but Omar is saying they waived Reitz yesterday.

 

I would love to know why Tampa waived him.

I have seen rumblings about knee issues and concern over the back to back concussions.

Well, Smith had a "gout like" inflammation in his knee, if that subsides he will be fine heading into 2011.

 

Yep, its only a good signing if he is healthy, and there are concerns about the above.

Interesting thing about the knee, it is not like a ACL or a sprain, once the inflammation goes down, he will be 100%.

TB just had an abundance at the position. Spurlock is solid, Smith has been injured, may as well cut the guy you're not 100% sure about. They (Tampa) have some glaring holes on defense, KR/PR should be the least of their worries.

 

Who care's if he's concussed? Just wipe the drool from his chin and send him back out there.

Finally a sure fire replacement and seemingly an upgrade to replace Ginn. And to boot he returns both kicks and punts!!

There are only a couple of highlights of him on youtube but well worth watching.

 

Might have to have someone standing back there with him though. To keep him pointed in the right direction...

 

because of 2 concussions? guys get mild and big time concussions all through football. most go untreated, or undiagnosed. i know for sure i have had atleast 4.....where i dont even remember a half i played, a practice, or a series. its scary. but 2 concussions isnt gunna make the guy ******ed or anything...

Smith led the league in KR average last year for all players with at least 20 KR's. The year before he was a pro bowler with 2 TD's. **** yes I'm happy about this move. No more ****ty field position every drive. I'm just praying that he'll be used on PR's too... Love Bess, but he sucks as a PR.

 

Nice...especially if he also returns punts. I hope he's good to go by week 2, we'll need all the help we can get.

better hope the fix on the offensive line is in by game time or there won't be a passing game
