I'd hate to say it but my gut is telling me our 1st pick will be a DB. I have this bad feeling that SS24's light will not come on and the FO won't mess around or hesitate when it comes to finding his replacement. Either that or Clemons possibly doesn't create enough big plays and we grab Moore or McDaniel and let Clemons eventually take over for Bell.
Kellen Moore looked really impressive running that 2 minute drill in the Boise St./Va Tech game. Was not so much impressed by Williams, a guy I hear about us having potential interest in. To be fair to him, the Broncs did load up the front end to commit to stopping the run. That Boise St. team is one well coached group though.
Williams is an animal, man. He can out run you, run around you or run through you. The offensive line was shaky last night and BSU stacked the box.
I haven't broken it down yet, I just saw snippets of him as I watched the game live. I thought he played solid. He did a pretty good job in the run game, both him and Whitley.
I still think Kellen Moore is a product of that system. He has some good things going for him like his composure under pressure but Chris Peterson's offense is so simplistic.
Did you watch Andy Dalton the other night? It's an episode every time he puts the ball up over 20 yards.
Yeah, I don't think he's very good either. If he's throwing outside the numbers, he's an incompletion waiting to happen. And what's even worse about him is what Gary Patterson talked about, which is how crazy he gets when they start having things go wrong on offense. He said last year against Boise State, Dalton was really shaky mentally and it ended up affecting the entire team because they did not have confidence in him to execute game plan.
Did you see Dalton's interception in the first quarter against Oregon State? Did you see when TCU ran the same damn play in the second quarter and Oregon State ended up running the same coverage too and he nearly threw an interception at the SAME spot. I don't know how well he picks up things. Same thing goes for Tyrod Taylor. I don't think he picks up things quickly enough in the pre-snap. He looks confused. All the stuff that he makes happen is when he breaks away from the pocket and the defenders are scrambling around, debating whether to leave the pass catcher for Taylor or stick to their man.
He's essentially got feet and that's about it. He reads defenses so badly. That first pick was textbook Dalton.
I did see it yeah. And he consistently hangs his receivers out to dry. At least Tyrod Taylor can throw the ball down the field.
I would be scared to death he breaks his neck...gotta quit leading with the head down.....................
Yeah, he needs to improve technique but at least he's willing. Unlike Darius Butler was coming out lol.
Apparently Jacquizz Rodgers doesn't get hit in practice so they can keep him fresh for games. I like his game but anyone who watched him against TCU saw him look exhausted.
Hey Boom on the player ranking for the 11 Draft on Universaldraft you have Justin Boren from USC and Tyron Smith from Ohio St
If were going to go after any RB its Trent Richardson. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI6gpFTWkZY"]YouTube- Trent Richardson's Amazing Touchdown Run[/ame]
Being a K-State fan, I really want to see the Phins draft Daniel Thomas. He's big at 6'2" and 228lbs, plus he just popped off a 200 yard game against an okay UCLA defense.
One of the guys that intrigues me right now is WR Titus Young. He seems to play faster than his 4.48 speed. He seems like the type of WR that would be a perfect compliment to Brandon Marshall. Also seems like more of a homerun hitter than Hartline or Bess. The best thing I like about him is he can last until the 4th or 5th round according to early predictions. Good hands, the ability to constantly get open, big play capability and a cheap contract seem like a pretty good combination to me. Junior DT Billy Winn of Boise looked like an interesting prospect but I would like to draft other positions next year. One guy that could be an upgrade over Lex Hilliard is FB Charles Clay out of Tulsa. He plays more like a RB in that he is a serious threat cathcing the ball out of the backfield. As a 7th rounder I would definitely consider him. Another RB prospect that seems to be in that 4th round range is Da'rel Scott out of Maryland. Could be a good replacement for Ricky or maybe for Patrick Cobbs since he's smaller at 200lbs but runs a 4.42
Watched LSU/NC. What a pair of young receivers the Tar Heels have there. Kelvin Sheppard played very well. His diagnostic skills are terrific. I mean really front line and he's a three down LB at the next level. He also gets off blocks really well. Quan Sturdivant is probably going to be a 2 down backer but in between the tackles he's a good player with the instincts Bruce Carter doesn't have and an ability to disengage and make plays. Carter was generally off key although he made a couple of really sweet plays in coverage. Terrible OL play by the three seniors, Pelc and Ingersoll for NC and Joe Barksdale for LSU. Tolliver is still as shabby as he was in 2009; limited blocker, poor route runner. And Drake Nevis has one move and that's it. He either attacks the inside shoulder and knifes into the backfield or he gets stonewalled and thrown to the ground. It's **** or bust with him. Really like Zach Pianalto. Terrific hands, solid blocker with good technique. I'd rather TJ Yates than Andy Dalton if I had to choose. Yates was better at getting rid of the ball and he made a couple of decent throws. GOT to start setting his feet more though if he wants any future.
He's a wildcat player, and to me the position is being cemented as it's own.. You get him and you get your other back, just like ronnie and ricky today...The evolution of this formation doesn't stop for me..
Bro he had 1 good game lets see what he can do when he faces a real defense. I'm not sold on Rich Rods offense working in the Big Ten as it requires smaller shiftier guys. He is quite talented but lets not crown him just yet.
Not to mention that when the WC works it is because the person getting the snap is big enough and strong enough to take it inside. Robinson would be Pat White pretty much all over again.
I shudder even at the thought of wasting another pick on a package we run maybe 3-4 times a game maybe 9-10 times if the WC works.
Any good Center prospects out there? Now that Grove is gone that position will probably be a target. Is Pouncey 2 and O'dowd the top of the class?
I'm bias but Mike Brewster has been pretty good for Ohio St. Though he is in his 3rd year at Ohio St.
