I guess Parcells looked at the secondary and saw that one of our starting cornerbacks is Jason Allen. He sees the offensive line still in turmoil and he obviously is having doubts as to whether or not Henne is the long term answer at QB. After three years in charge of the front office. He looks at the team and realizes that there are still more questions than answers. Knowing that there have been some serious errors in drafting and in free agent signings during his tenure. He has decided now is the time to hit the road and let Ireland and Sparano deal with what is coming if the Dolphins are not an improved team over last year.

the only thing that bothers me about this news is that FA's might not be that hyped about coming to Miami as they were when Parcell's had full control. other than that, like someone else already said, its pretty much the same role he has now. I'm sure Ireland has him on speed dial and will do what he suggests when he really doesn't know what decision to make about something.

His management techniques are brilliant. He has a program called "Fail Forward Fast" where you put people who are completely unqualified into positions in which they will certainly fail and then chalk the whole thing up to a grand learning experience.

 

The timing of this is very odd. Was he taking a lot of criticism for the recent cuts? It's not a HUGE deal but I just think the past week or so has really put a lot of peoples expectations in doubt.

Meddling is Ross going in the draft room and deciding he knows better who to draft.

 

Peterson will never end up here. After all it was Peterson who said he was more interested in the business side of things yet Ross never canned Dees to put Peterson in there.

When you look at the free agents signed during the last three years under Parcells. He has acutually done a very poor job of bringing in quality players. In fact if Dansby ends up being the player most anticipate he
will be. He will actually be the first star quality free agent that Parcells
was able to bring to the Dolphins. All the rest have been either overpaid
bust or special teamers who are at the bottom of the roster.
