Anderson Cut, Carpenter signed Well now, this says a couple of things: -They really like Q Moses -Finally all of "trade for Carpenter" stuff can be put to bed -New nickel ILB and ST player I like this pickup, but would have waived Q over Anderson, he did more jobs than Q did but I suppose they felt Q was younger and did have some upside left to offer.
Yes. Not a huge fan of the move right now. But somehow I knew it was only a matter of time before he was on the Dolphins. STill trying to find the article. Was reported on facebook.
why would we cut a olb to make room for a ilb? now who do we have at olb? francis, misi, wake, moses?
This move reeks to high heaven of a couple guys trying to prove they were right. They drafted Carpenter 18th overall in 2006, he didn't pan out with the Cowboys, but Tuna wasn't around to see him through, he has underperformed his entire NFL career and now they just want the chance to say, "we were right" by making him into a star. But the truth of the matter is, I don't think this kid has what it takes. His head isn't in the game and he's not physical enough for this team. Ego moves kill teams.
He's been talked about as being a Dolphin for 3 offseasons, it's felt like Ahab trying to find Moby Dick.
yeah but you have a first round talent and a staff that may be able to help get the player on the right track, This is something that I do not underestimate Parcells with...we will see Carpenter's best, and if thats not good enough, than so be it, what did we really lose on the risk?
And the long rumored, often talked about possibility of Bobby Carpenter being a Dolphin has come to fruition. For those who don't remember, back when we traded for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele, the strong rumors going around were that we wanted Carpenter, but couldn't get Dallas to part with him. Each and every trade thereafter seemed to bring up more scuttlebutt about Bobby coming here. It never seemed to be in the cards...until now. Hence the Ahab-white whale reference made by UnifiedTheory. The good news is, he is a great special teams player. Think about this for a moment folks, Bonamego has been an awful special teams coach for us. We looked like absolute dog **** the first few games with that unit. What did Miami do? They went and got some special teams aces in Benny Sapp and Bobby Carpenter to help shore it up. Basically, I expect us to have an improved coverage team at this point. Bobby won't start at the linebacking position, but he replaces Anderson who, while versatile, wasn't a standout in any one category. Bobby isn't either, outside of special teams, but we don't lose a whole lot going from Charlie to Bobby...except that now Dan has to have a "D" in front of his last name...
I've always wondered why he didn't pan out. I've seen him sooooo close to making some big plays with Dallas. I think this is Parcells taking care of his boy.
man are you stubbon about the Q.....when are you gonna trust me sometimes Pod. Have you broken down how good Q can set an edge.? I like this move, because whenever there is a player that has talent {first round pick} and an attitude problem, and Parcells is in charge, your chances of getting the best out of the player are better than anyone else imo.
he will pick it up for us. anyone else picture him making a big hit on special teams sunday and we are like "whos that?!?!" "oh **** its bobby!!!!!!!! yesssss"
We just gave the Bills a starting OLB imo.... I guess im the only one mildly upset about this one. I think Anderson is a fringe starter. Bobby hasnt amounted to anything but a STer.
I do not like the Q because he is one dimensional, has had three yrs to do something and has not. Maybe yr 4 is his yr, but puppies and biting come to mind. As for this move Deej I've been warning folks for the last 2 days, do not fall in love with anyone outside of the Starting 25, they can be gone in half a day. "Charlie Anderson? Love his game..wait what, he was cut?" That is about how this will work for the entire season, Feed the Wolf, or Get Fed to the Wolves.
Dude, Bobby friggin Carpenter ??????? Another Dallas boy. They traded him for Alex Baron and Carpenter could not even makes the Rams roster ? Now I know we are in doo doo. He is NOT a special teams wiz, if he was, he would still be in St. Louis, they need all the help they can get up there and they even released him.
Yep, they called him " Barbie " Carpenter down there. If you watched any of the Rams pre season games ( I taped them because I wanted to see this kid Bradford ) Let me put it this way, Barbie can kick Carpenters assss. He did nothing on special teams and was far worse as a LBer.
with anderson getting work at ILB the last few weeks, i´m actually more shocked that micah johnson is still on this team, but 2.2 M for anderson probably to much
